Casus_Belli -> RE: Space Opera - Test Games (3/9/2010 9:38:43 PM)

It' not a big priority, I guess, but I'm sure I've seen them in other games. As you say, it doesn't really have much effect.

Tufkal2 -> RE: Space Opera - Test Games (3/14/2010 5:26:32 PM)

Hi all,
since this is a testgame I just wanted to give some feedback and I still think the way things are set up are not optimal from a balance perspective.
However I was not really suggesting we stop the game. So suggest we continue and see how things develop in this testgame since the aim is mainly to be able to provide some feedback for the scenario designer....
Sorry if I caused some confusion.
Looking forward to get a turn here again soon.
Best Regards

Casus_Belli -> RE: Space Opera - Test Games (3/14/2010 9:53:03 PM)

The turn is with me. Somehow I've labelled it wrongly. I think I'll have to do the turn again. Apologies forthe delay.

GrumpyMel -> RE: Space Opera - Test Games (4/3/2010 6:34:33 AM)

Cadwall Turn 11 done and sent on to Romanov

Tufkal2 -> RE: Space Opera - Test Games (4/14/2010 6:19:55 AM)

Turn 13 from House Drako sent.

Small comment: I think the influence game is a bit too predictable. Once one house has any lead here it makes not much senser for another house to get involved (they would need to team up anyway). So how about randomizing the amount of influence points a house gets (maybe like 1-20 or so). In this way there would be an incentive for another house to try to overtake the others....

GrumpyMel -> RE: Space Opera - Test Games (4/15/2010 5:31:23 PM)

Lunaticus,

That's an interesting thought. One of the dynamics I was trying to do with the influence game was balancing the costs. Going for one of the factions is somewhat of a no brainer, if no-one is bidding against you. If you have to keep spending PP's to keep your rival from getting it...it might be a better option to use those PP's for Tech. Of course, even worse is getting into a bidding war and loosing...so you may have a point there.

The possibility of working with another House to foil a rival does exist though....and since Houses can trade resources with each other, there can even be some incentive offered. Randomizing it might not be a bad option though.

Bombur -> RE: Space Opera - Test Games (5/1/2010 4:05:05 PM)

Game is stalled. Who has the turn? I sent mine to Ken 7 days ago.

Tufkal2 -> RE: Space Opera - Test Games (5/1/2010 5:02:01 PM)

My apologies, forgot to forward turn 16.
Just sent it to GrumpyMel....

GrumpyMel -> RE: Space Opera - Test Games (5/1/2010 6:15:10 PM)

Turn played and sent.

Bombur -> RE: Space Opera - Test Games (5/17/2010 2:55:37 AM)

Who has the turn? I sent mine on May 7th

Tufkal2 -> RE: Space Opera - Test Games (5/17/2010 7:42:23 AM)

Seems like I had the turn again. My apologies.
Sent out turn 18 to GrumpyMel just now.
I think the problem is that after my turn the rebels play and by the time they are done I forget to send things around. Or an old age effect or something...

GrumpyMel -> RE: Space Opera - Test Games (5/18/2010 3:27:25 AM)

Turn 19 sent on

Casus_Belli -> RE: Space Opera - Test Games (5/20/2010 12:11:33 AM)

Yes that aging thing is getting to be a problem for me, too[:(]. Can we organise for someone to stop time?[8D]

Tufkal2 -> RE: Space Opera - Test Games (5/22/2010 1:28:36 AM)

Turn 19 sent. I am happy I did not forget it this time....
Also the rebel turn is much quicker now, seems like they are in full retreat.

Tufkal2 -> RE: Space Opera - Test Games (5/28/2010 1:57:02 AM)

Turn 20 sent.
Tension is rising....

Tufkal2 -> RE: Space Opera - Test Games (6/9/2010 11:41:57 PM)

Turn 22 sent....

Tufkal2 -> RE: Space Opera - Test Games (6/12/2010 1:18:37 PM)

After playing this for some more turn I really would be happy about a sue for peace card. I am sharing a system with a friendly neighbour and having my transports intercepted every now and then is ... disturbing.
Also: I am getting a message every turn that somebody has been sabotaged my diplomatic efforts. I assume:
--> This is not affecting my church alliance?
--> Is somebody really paying political points each turn for this? Seems a bit strange to me especially since the effect is only to make further alliances more diificult?

GrumpyMel -> RE: Space Opera - Test Games (6/13/2010 2:40:15 AM)

Your right a sue for peace would be pretty usefull, shouldn't be too tough to put in. I'm on another project right now, but I'll work on getting it in when I have a chance. Not sure on the message you are getting....I can't imagine some-one would pay PP's to do that you at this point....but I haven't seen a bug like that before. The event code is only triggered from playing an action card...so that sounds like some-one is playing one. Shouldn't affect your Church status once you aligned them...but you should see it affecting your noble and guild status.

sapper32 -> RE: Space Opera - Test Games (6/15/2010 11:25:53 PM)

Turn 24 sent on,Im going away on holiday for a week and a half starting thursday so no turns from me until then sorry guys.

Regards Ian

Tufkal2 -> RE: Space Opera - Test Games (6/16/2010 12:59:06 AM)

Hi Sapper32,

hmm somehow I think I should have been the recipient of your turn 24 but I did not receive anything?
Can you please check?

Casus_Belli -> RE: Space Opera - Test Games (7/18/2010 5:31:07 AM)

Turn sent. Ongoing consolidation in the Empire De Castillo. [sm=duel.gif]

Tufkal2 -> RE: Space Opera - Test Games (7/19/2010 10:06:21 PM)

Turn sent onwards to GrumpyMel.
I like the setting and scenario but I am not sure all the research is balanced. I bought agents this turn but they seem too expensive to build and as frontline troops very short-lived. How about giving them more hitpoints and rear-area ability?

And is anybody going to attack a human player sometime????

Tufkal2 -> RE: Space Opera - Test Games (7/28/2010 9:46:33 PM)

Turn 28 sent on to House Cadwall...

Casus_Belli -> RE: Space Opera - Test Games (8/12/2010 3:23:43 PM)

How are the turns? Haven't seen anything for a while. [8|]

GrumpyMel -> RE: Space Opera - Test Games (8/13/2010 2:08:42 AM)

Sent mine out on 7/31. That's the last I saw.

Casus_Belli -> RE: Space Opera - Test Games (8/17/2010 10:39:49 AM)

I sent turn 28 on the 27th, so I guess that's the one. As far as I can see, I haven't received one since then.

Tufkal2 -> RE: Space Opera - Test Games (8/17/2010 12:02:59 PM)

I would also be happy to continue the game. My last turn was just the one coming from Casus Belli and continuing to GrumpyMel and have not seen anything since...

Tufkal2 -> RE: Space Opera - Test Games (8/25/2010 8:29:23 PM)

Sent out turn 29 to GrumpyMel.
Very thankful that the game continues.
As to the game it looks like it is heating up some.... [:)]

GrumpyMel -> RE: Space Opera - Test Games (9/11/2010 9:03:00 PM)

Who has the turn? Last one I had was sent out on the 31st.

Bombur -> RE: Space Opera - Test Games (9/14/2010 11:48:12 PM)

I sent it to Ken on 09/06
