henri51 -> RE: Full Size AE Planning Map with base icons (8/27/2009 10:58:19 PM)

the maps are great and certainly useful.

It would be really great if all the maps could be incorporated ito a single map, with a key toggle that would display different data with a siple keypress. For example press 1, and map 1 shows up, press 2 and map 2....etc. A header on the top would display what is being displayed.

Only Matrixgames is able to provide this functionality.
I too would be glad if they would include this.

Hats off to you Marc, brilliant

Very good indeed. Thanks so much Marc for sharing this with us

Jonathan Pollard -> RE: Full Size AE Planning Map and Game Map (9/2/2009 8:22:00 AM)

Would it be possible to get a map that shows the assault value of all ground units present in each hex? I'd be particularly interested in seeing a map of China with this info to get a better overview of the relative strengths and weaknesses there.

You mean at the start of the scenario?
I think that should be possible but it will take a while.

Yes, at the start of the scenario. I haven't started my PBEM game yet, waiting for the official patch.

OK. The while is over. The download link is as always in the first post.
I think this is a very helpful map.
Please check the values because I am not sure they are all correct. Some rounding errors are intended [8|].

Btw. here are the Assault Value totals at the beginning of scenario 1 with beta patch:
Japan: 38741
Allies: 47166

Whoa!! Looks like you're one of those "The difficult we do at once. The impossible takes a bit longer " type of people. (motto of the Seabees).

MUCH APPRECIATED!!! [&o]

stuman -> RE: Full Size AE Planning Map and Game Map (9/4/2009 3:41:41 PM)

Geez, this is incredible work. Thank you very much.

The bad news is it now looks like I may have to kick one of my children out of their room in order to put all of these planning maps on the wall. Oh well, I can just build some bunk beds and they can room with one of the other kids.

offenseman -> RE: Full Size AE Planning Map and Game Map (9/8/2009 8:54:46 PM)

On the Assault Value map, how about adding Garrison Values to it?  (seems like asking for too much to ask for anything more than what these superb maps already offer...)

What do you mean with "Garrison Values"?

Jonathan Pollard -> RE: Full Size AE Planning Map and Game Map (9/10/2009 9:43:35 PM)

Some bases (I think it's those or some of those with a manpower value) have a garrison value expressed in Assault Value which if not met results in partisans causing damage to the base.  Knowing the garrison values in China for example would give a better idea of how much AV the Japs have available for offensive operations after subtracting the amount of AV that needs to stay behind as garrisons.

If you'd like to see an example of a base with insufficient garrison value at start, take a look at Lashio in Burma. There are several others, at least two of them are in India.

Marc -> RE: Full Size AE Planning Map and Game Map (9/11/2009 12:47:17 AM)

OK. How could I forget about that value [8|].

I added the data to the latest map together with the Assault Values.
As always see first post for download links and previews.

Indeed, most impressive. Thanks Marc

Zenra -> RE: Full Size AE Planning Map and Game Map (10/11/2009 6:03:48 PM)

These maps are great - thanks for all the work, Marc!

One question, tho: before AE I became quite fond of the "World in Flames" style maps (i.e., with hex sides for land hexes but dots for sea, and with the weather and control zone boundaries shown) available for Andrew Brown's extended maps. Any plans for creating similar maps for AE?

Thank you.
I only use existing maps and put additional data in them.
But I think Andrew Brown is planning to build a "World in Flames" style map.

loricas -> RE: Full Size AE Planning Map and Game Map (11/26/2009 4:00:46 PM)

the Malacca strait near singapore (Phillips Channel) is large around 2.8 Km: it's possible to have passage from SC Tf permitted only to controlling side?

Oliver Heindorf -> RE: Full Size AE Planning Map and Game Map (12/18/2009 10:26:32 PM)

Marc

P.S.: I'm working at new versions with the changes from the patches incorporated.
If anybody has any wishes let me know.
