jnpoint -> RE: WitPTracker AE Release 1.9.2 Available! (7/4/2012 4:20:33 PM)

maybe I should uninstall java 7 first?
I have java.exe but without ".exe", it's the same with all the other ".exe"
really strange.

jnpoint -> RE: WitPTracker AE Release 1.9.2 Available! (7/4/2012 4:50:52 PM)

I tried again and this time I get this error message:

F:\witptracker demo\witptracker AE release 1.9.2> java -Xms384m -Xms512m -jar "witptracker.jar"
registry key 'software\javasoft\java runtime environment\currentversion' has value 1.7, but 1.6 is required
error: could not find java.dll
error: could not find java SE Run Environment

I have done everything right - I think - but is java version 7 my problem, and will it be best to uninstall it?

jnpoint -> RE: WitPTracker AE Release 1.9.2 Available! (7/4/2012 5:21:29 PM)

Forget my previous problems, please.

Because now I have a new :)
Not to difficult, but I did uninstall java 7 and running java 6 build 33.
So my new problem is the following: When I set up the witptracker.properties properties file. I right-click on the filename of that file and choose the Open command. But the window it opens is only open for less than a second, so I can't read it and edit in the window?

solved!

jnpoint -> RE: WitPTracker AE Release 1.9.2 Available! (7/4/2012 6:37:24 PM)

Yes it works now! I do not know why or how, but it doesn't matter :)

Captain Cruft -> RE: WitPTracker AE Release 1.9.2 Available! (7/5/2012 1:17:41 AM)

Quick question:

In Alerts, are the Ship Sinkings accurate or are they derived from the in-game Ships Sunk list?

Thanks.

Derived from the save game, including FoW-related stuff.

Arigoth -> RE: WitPTracker AE Release 1.9.2 Available! (7/5/2012 6:27:30 AM)

I can actually take the entire database files move them out of the tracker folder then move them back in to the folder and it works. Heres the sequence of events that makes it screw up:

1. Set model to anything besides all
2. Pick a particular type of plane
3. Set Special to "Upgrade to"
4. Set model to All
5. Column where I pick type of plane sets to All and won't change after that.

After that happens I can close tracker. Move the database files out of the tracker folder. Close, Reopen, and close tracker. Then copy my original Files back into the folder and it will work again.

Yes, I see that now. [:(]
I'll take a look at the code once I finish my PBEM turn...

But to fix it, you don't need to move the database files -- all you need to do is quit the program and restart it.

khyberbill -> RE: WitPTracker AE Release 1.9.2 Available! (7/6/2012 8:23:59 PM)

Tracker suddenly stopped working and gives me this screen. I have two installs, one does work so it isnt a problem with Java.

Dan Nichols -> RE: WitPTracker AE Release 1.9.2 Available! (7/6/2012 8:36:07 PM)

It says your out of memory, try changing the -Xmx512m to -Xmx768m. That should fix it for a while. It is taking 169 seconds to load the DB, you may have to start over again soon.

khyberbill -> RE: WitPTracker AE Release 1.9.2 Available! (7/6/2012 8:39:05 PM)

Thanks, I will try that. What do you mean start all over? Erase all db files? Lose all that history?

Dan Nichols -> RE: WitPTracker AE Release 1.9.2 Available! (7/6/2012 9:02:02 PM)

Yes, I start over every 3 months. I don't lose anything, I put each 3 months into its own folder. I just cant see every day from the beginning. I have a save of day 1 that I start each new DB with.

khyberbill -> RE: WitPTracker AE Release 1.9.2 Available! (7/6/2012 9:44:25 PM)

Where does one change the memory?

Dan Nichols -> RE: WitPTracker AE Release 1.9.2 Available! (7/6/2012 9:48:45 PM)

Right-click on the witptracker.bat file, select edit and make the change. Then file->save and try it.

I have some ideas on how to speed things up. When I get a chance, I'll see how it works out.

khyberbill -> RE: WitPTracker AE Release 1.9.2 Available! (7/6/2012 11:07:00 PM)

That worked. Thanks, one last question. Because two turns had been played since I loaded Tracker I picked the multi-read selection but it only loaded the last turn. This has happened to me before.

It's supposed to show a list of unloaded turns from the save files in the selected folder. From there, you should be presented with a list of them for you to check/uncheck and then load. Were there multiple unloaded save files in the selected folder?

khyberbill -> RE: WitPTracker AE Release 1.9.2 Available! (7/7/2012 12:19:27 AM)

There were two unloaded turns (me bad), 199 and 201, only 201 showed up and was loaded.

If turn 200 was already loaded, it explains why 199 didn't show up -- can't load turns older than what's already in there.

khyberbill -> RE: WitPTracker AE Release 1.9.2 Available! (7/7/2012 12:34:34 AM)

We are doing two day turns.

CaptDave -> RE: WitPTracker AE Release 1.9.2 Available! (7/7/2012 1:17:52 AM)

For what it's worth, I started getting the "out of memory" errors the other day, too, but in my case it definitely was not the size of the data base -- I've only done five turns! What I was doing is constantly swapping back and forth between the game and Tracker, trying to populate regions for many of the bases I've never heard of (first time with DaBabes). Didn't bother tracing the reason; just closed and restarted once it got to the point that the screen wouldn't redraw itself.

Ikazuchi0585 -> RE: WitPTracker AE Release 1.9.2 Available! (7/7/2012 5:55:18 PM)

So the tracker does work with DaBabes scenarios CaptDave? I'm getting this message whenever I try to load the second turn, I get an error whenever the bases start loading

CaptDave -> RE: WitPTracker AE Release 1.9.2 Available! (7/7/2012 9:44:01 PM)

I've certainly had no trouble (the out-of-memory issue is more likely related to Alt-Tab, a known problem, than to the mod). I'll leave it to the others to diagnose your problem; my brain today is pure mush, for some reason.

That's likely an issue reading the save file, but I'd need the files to see for sure. Before you send, are you using the correct pwsdll.dll file (with the latest version of WitPTracker and with the latest version of the game)?

Ikazuchi0585 -> RE: WitPTracker AE Release 1.9.2 Available! (7/8/2012 1:59:35 AM)

I'm pretty sure I'm using correct pwsdll.dll file and the game has the recent update. The pwsdll.dll file I used was in the main folder.which files would you need?

Devices > Squads

What is the meaning of the Draw column in Devices > Squad screen?

It means how many devices were added to LCUs from the last turn to this turn. Unfortunately, it also includes devices added to LCU's that are unloading from ships and transporting via air.

witpqs -> RE: WitPTracker AE Release 1.9.2 Available! (7/11/2012 2:59:51 PM)

I'm getting pinged by auto-update to allow it to install Java 7 and uninstall Java 6.

Java 7 and 64-bit are still no-go for Tracker, right?
