Gary Grigsby's World at War

I paid $39.95 for it,6 months later it was selling for $3.50,that game stunk.

We didn't need your comments about Gary Grigsby's World at War stinking You took it off topic troll. As you do this quite often.

Others in this thread have said the same thing about WaW.Why are you not attacking them? Why does it bother you so much my opinion is different than yours?I hate to break it to you kid,but not everyone in the world has the same opinions, someday when you grow up you might realize that. Now im not interested in starting a "flame war' with you or anyone else and I will not respond to anymore of your immature, imbecile posts attacking me.Have a good day!!![>:][>:][>:]Keep harassing me and i will report you to a moderator.Im installing CotA now,so dont bother me.

Arctic Blast -> RE: What is the best Matrix WWII game? (2/12/2010 5:42:53 AM)

And another thread degenerates in to 'Which of them will resemble an adult first'. Bairdlander mocks kilroy for childishness, Kilroy continues his bizarre Paradox fixation, and the wheel continues to turn.

Yay for the rest of us. [8|]

JudgeDredd -> RE: What is the best Matrix WWII game? (2/12/2010 6:55:05 AM)

Forget it. The post was nothing more than taunting and I should know better.

I apologise. (no drink involved here...just plain old stupidity [:D])

ilovestrategy -> RE: What is the best Matrix WWII game? (2/12/2010 10:45:40 AM)

Dang, I never thought just saying what my favorite Matrix game is would start a flame war. [:(]

Maybe I should let you guys decide what my favorite game is. [8|]

But seriously, I like World at War and if it offends anyone, I really don't care. You don't see me taking shots at War in the Pacific. I tried it and it's not for me but I respect the fact that other players like it.

The problem with this forum is if anyone dares to say they dont like a Matrix title(which they have every right to as a paying customer) they are accused of being trolls or insulted in some way.Back to topic my vote for best Matrix game would be CotA. I am working through the tutorial,so far the best Matrix WW2 game IMO.

Prince of Eckmühl -> RE: What is the best Matrix WWII game? (2/12/2010 4:53:17 PM)

Judged solely by forum activity, I'd have to say that War in the Pacific and AE are the best WW2 games published by Matrix. They appear to have the most committed and enthusiastic following. However, had I the option, I'd prefer to play a game of that scale this way:

I will vote for the close combat series,as for grand stategy i would say none as all of them are too simplistic and quite lame made mostly for children or mentally challenged adults.

Actually why don't we start from the very beginning of the thread his very first post into it.

Nothing more childish and immature than that post bairdlander. [:D] You called everyone who plays any grand strategy other than your precious HOI series childish and mentally challenged adults. Pretty trolly to me.

Obsolete -> RE: What is the best Matrix WWII game? (2/12/2010 10:40:24 PM)

I wonder, if we reversed the original question to what is the WORST WWII game, if suddenly we'd get a lot more love in here :P

Somehow, I doubt it! [:D]

Wasn't there one absolute turkey, though, in the very early days (before I even signed up here, I think)? Can't remember what it was called. I think even the Matrix staff just like to pretend it never happened. Or maybe I'm thinking of somebody else?

Are you talking about 10 years ago?  I can’t quite remember, at least not if it was a WW2 game.

Speaking of worst WW2 games from Matrix, a quick google-search shows up Operation Barbarossa.  This is due of course, to Giftzerg’s continuous rants about the game.  That guy just seems to have all the worst luck in the world.  It’s bad enough he cant’ get his graphics settings right, then it’s worse he couldn’t get past the tutorial, and worse yet he couldn’t figure out how to do a simple paradrop.

Maybe there really were some conflicts with his PC, but oddly enough, the issues didn’t stop there.
For example, on the one hand he’ll rave how great Panzer General II was, and then he’ll rant about how bad OB is for copying PG2 elements???

And then there were some statements that while partially true, seem to go too far.  For example, according to his logic, OB is a broken game because if you end up waiting too long to capture a final victory hex, you lose the campaign and the game is over.  Yes, the game is definitely broken here, as according to HIS logic, if the Germans had waited a day later before finally crushing Poland (in real life), that this would have had no effect on the outcome of their Polish campaign.  So hence, the game is clearly broken.

BTW, if one enjoys reading many colorful adjectives and adverbs from one in a rant, then perhaps reading some of his posts could increase your ‘slang’ vocabulary.  :P

JudgeDredd -> RE: What is the best Matrix WWII game? (2/13/2010 7:47:47 AM)

I like Operation Barbarossa. I haven't played it ina while, but I liked it when I did

stamina -> RE: What is the best Matrix WWII game? (2/22/2010 7:34:36 AM)

Concentrate precious industrial resources on building, training and upgrading a wide variety of combat units from airborne soldiers and armored divisions up to nuclear weapons! Historical leaders enhance the performance of your armies and hundreds of historical events like the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact, Lend-Lease and more give you choices that can change the course of history. WW2: Time of Wrath is fought across turns that vary in length by season and 25 km hexes with divisions and corps, giving the player a broad strategic picture of the war while still leaving enough room for operational decisions.
