It's unusual for me NOT to move every two years. We are hoping that this will be the LAST time (ok, when we get there we'll rent an apartment...do a "mini-move" , local to our permanent house). It will then probably require high explosives to move us. [:D]

BrucePowers -> RE: The AE Geezer Thread! (1/29/2012 11:28:38 PM)

Have you given up on North Florida?

For the time being. My wife has been offered her dream job , both my work and educational opportunities immensley increase, cost of living is even lower than here, it's heading to the east coast , and my best friend lives in this town. It could be much, much worse. So for now, Florida becomes a distant dream. But West Virginia sounds better and better each day. [:D]

Start pronouncing your short i's as long e's. Such as pig goes to peeg, and fishing goes to Feeshing.

AW1Steve -> RE: The AE Geezer Thread! (1/31/2012 7:06:02 PM)

Why? You think I'm going to blend in anywhere? After 25+ years of playing the military vagabond, my spouse and I are the only people I've ever met who can use "you-all" and "ahuh" in the same sentence![:D]

Schanilec -> RE: The AE Geezer Thread! (1/31/2012 9:05:41 PM)

You betcha.[:D]

Dude! I'm living in Nebraska! Looking at a foot of white stuff that magically appeared last night, with more falling and more on the way! [:-]

Florida will always be in my heart (especially in winter). But money in the pocket (and "a little wine in the belly makes everything better") takes precedence over "warm but broke". [:D]

Onime No Kyo -> RE: The AE Geezer Thread! (2/4/2012 9:04:47 PM)

You have invested in a snow blower, have you not? [:)]

AW1Steve -> RE: The AE Geezer Thread! (2/4/2012 9:24:15 PM)

Not yet. Wait till after the move. One less big thing to haul.[:)]

Steve,

I have a house for sale in Northern Florida about 25 miles SW of Gainesville if you ever decide to move that way! 15 acres with Old Oaks, all brick home with 6 bedrooms and 4 1/2 baths! :)

Pete

Schanilec -> RE: The AE Geezer Thread! (2/7/2012 4:14:40 PM)

You had better jump on that offer.[8D] I'm too far north even to consider. My buddy on the other hand.

Onime No Kyo -> RE: The AE Geezer Thread! (2/11/2012 5:35:07 PM)

Who needs that many bathrooms? Does your diet consist entirely of Mexican and Indian food? [X(][:D]

I'd love to buy it from you, but it doesn't look like we are heading that way anytime soon. Sorry. [:(]

They had indoor plumbing when you were growing up? [X(][:'(][sm=scared0018.gif]

PaxMondo -> RE: The AE Geezer Thread! (2/12/2012 8:51:43 AM)

You know, had gotten to thinking that I was getting up there, and then I just got back from a 50th anniversary celebration.  34 couples celebrating their 50th anniversary ... 34!  Wow.  Including my Aunt and Uncle ... isn't that I feel younger or anything ... just realizing that I still have a ways to go.  [8D]

Onime No Kyo -> RE: The AE Geezer Thread! (2/17/2012 12:39:22 AM)

Wonder how many years it took him to remember the date of the wedding anniversary.

Yes. But I'll admit that we used to rent a summer camp on a lake that did not. [:(]

Ingtar -> RE: The AE Geezer Thread! (6/12/2012 11:05:45 PM)

Of course, yelling at the punk kids does no good as they ruined their hearing with loud music, so cannot hear loud. They are telling us that, but we cannot hear their higher pitched voices. Perhaps a compromise involving moveable type or a telegraph is in order.
