80€ is about 100 hard earned dollahs.
Strangely though when the game costs 80 dollars, it'll cost *us* 100€....

It doesn't matter one bit on how much we use on hardware, or how much money I use to get myself drunk during the weekend, these are not the same thing. The only thing that matters is the comparison to other similar products, ie. games. And no matter what you say there, 80euros is a lot(how many dollars that is don't know?). Is it worth it? Probably, but that doesn't change the fact that it is still very expensive.

It's true that €80 is a lot for this title compared to other games, especially if we exclude any collectors/limited editions.

But can we compare this title and others like it to other games?

This will of course only be speculation as I don't know the costs to develop a title like this but perhaps it's a fair price when we take into consideration how many copies they might sell to be able to cover their costs.

Only then do we truly know if it is/was overpriced or not...

Yes, it is a limited market and with these prices it will always stay as such.

I was going to add my two cents worth to the topic, but it seems I need two bits

punkjock -> RE: Price of this game. (7/22/2010 8:27:16 PM)

AS someone who has been playing War in Russia for decades since its original release date to finally have an updated version i can play on windows 7 thrills me!!! The price is a minor point to me if he released the game at $200 i would buy it as it is one of only 2 games i own that has held up this long the other being the NES game liberty or death. That game i have had since 1992. If i could get that game updated like War in russia is to war in the east i'd paid $200 for that too!!!

Pipewrench -> RE: Price of this game. (7/22/2010 9:56:53 PM)

punkjock, $200 is a heck of a price but I too would probably swallow the wallet hit as I also played War in Russia till the box fell apart and the CD cracked.
