bigred -> RE: The Ghost replay (5/27/2012 2:39:04 AM)

This is a look at my other RA70 game against Dirty Harry. I am the JAPS and I get a look at ship production. I want to know the locations of all enemy CVs and also the future units to become available.

The Screenie is of my future IJN CV arrivals..humm, last turn FatR had 120 fighters at Magwe but this turn it is empty...hehehe I wonder if he has CAP over Singapore and Palembang...

The Kawachi got away...

bigred -> RE: 43-1-3 (5/28/2012 2:52:48 AM)

In the air war over burma...

bigred -> RE: 43-1-3 (5/28/2012 3:35:34 AM)

In my hunt for the Kawachi I forgot to CAP my TFs.

bigred -> RE: 43-1-3 (5/28/2012 3:36:32 AM)

The only Surface combat was a DD draw.

bigred -> RE: 43-1-3 (5/28/2012 3:37:36 AM)

Then the air war began. Fat R is moving vehicles to burma on the Burma road.

bigred -> RE: 43-1-3 (5/28/2012 3:38:55 AM)

Then the carpet bombing has begun...

bigred -> RE: 43-1-3 (5/28/2012 3:40:16 AM)

and

bigred -> RE: 43-1-3 (5/28/2012 3:41:17 AM)

then day 2 the air seemed more coordinated and doubled down on jap airfields in central burma...My CV raid last turn really forced FatR to make some adjustments. I was afraid to hang around off Sumatra because of the reinforced air.

bigred -> RE: 43-1-3 (5/30/2012 1:49:54 AM)

43-1-3:
With the arrival of 2 fresh allied divisions I should start some movement in the Mandalay area.

Itdepends -> RE: 43-1-3 (5/30/2012 1:58:40 PM)

Ground bombing

bigred -> RE: 43-1-3 (5/31/2012 6:09:20 AM)

Look at this report from central china. Looks like china army on the move to SEAsia.

It may be a blessing in that FatR moved the entire southern army into Rangoon. It may also be a blessing that I did not move the 1st marines to rangoon early. Now instead of one jap army trapped I have two jap armies trapped.

I was thinking about short term ramifications. Seems Rangoon garrison has to stay in location to extract the central Burma army. In addition for the extraction to happen the KB has to stay on location or i will pulverize the ground armies w/air power.

bigred -> RE: 43-1-3 (5/31/2012 1:51:53 PM)

I was looking at my kia pilots and wondered if this is normal.

bigred -> RE: 43-1-3 (5/31/2012 3:12:09 PM)

I suspect the KB at rangoon has hurt my pilot cadre real bad.

bigred -> RE: 43-1-3 (6/1/2012 1:00:58 AM)

43-1-3: Unusual but minor rollout of events from the combat replay will be diagnosed w/ these screenprints.

bigred -> RE: 43-1-3 (6/1/2012 1:03:14 AM)

then: Ground attack w/no naval or air support...

[image]local://upfiles/27655/8F1827CA7BD74091BF5E0B2F9874E3CB.jpg[/image]

FYI, the marine 1st div and the California national guard 40th division(near Mandalay) were dispatched to SE Asia shortly after the losses of one British, one Australian, and 2 Indian division on the Andaman islands. The 7th AUS Division is a reconstituted unit originally destroyed at Lil Andaman in late 42. This is the first fight for the reorganized 8th div from Lark and Sparrow Battalions. For this operation 7th AUS div was at 2/3rd TOE. So beat up where the Indians the 1st marine division posted at Chittagong for about 9 months w/fear of IJA amphib attack.

bigred -> RE: 43-1-3 (6/1/2012 1:06:03 AM)

and I continue my 1-2 attack every other day at Toungoo. It grinds on...

So I am looking at this task group. One marine armor battalion, 2 indian armored battalions and an Indian division at 2/3rds strenght. I figure the marines are having fun. Probably just gained respect for the indians.

bigred -> RE: 43-1-3 (6/1/2012 1:07:48 AM)

This attack at Pegu arrived the second day...

bigred -> RE: 43-1-3 (6/1/2012 1:08:35 AM)

On the second day of the turn the ground support for the Rangoon attack arrives late. Now why would these units fly one day late to support the ground attack???

[image]local://upfiles/27655/41AF4951C1174F139AEFF85B60626B5C.jpg[/image]

bigred -> RE: 43-1-3 (6/1/2012 1:18:04 AM)

And these guys also failed to fly on the 1st day. Looks like good things and bad things can happen w/ 2day turns. More like real life.

bigred -> RE: 43-1-3 (6/1/2012 1:38:43 AM)

In SOPAC, I flipped all my LBA over to night attack. I have taken too much damage w/ daylight raids and my fighters are having a problem sweeping Lea.

Eased up on ship combat.

bigred -> RE: 43-1-7 (6/10/2012 12:40:03 AM)

I have had a roadtrip and slow to post. Dont like my laptop. Anyway this is a print of the Burma situation. The central valley IJA is on the move. Not sure but this situation could be changing into an allied breakout situation. The 14th army is approaching meilita and should roll the defense.

bigred -> RE: 43-1-7 (6/10/2012 12:49:46 AM)

I moved another CVTF into the area. This one is operating off Java/Sumatra w/no enemy air cover in site. If I had the forces palembang would be open to an amphib operation.
The KB was last reported near Georgetown.

I was looking at the reinforcement track and am expecting another 200carrier fighters in the next 60 days. Time to raider the japs.

44-1-11: Pisser of a turn. Lord please have mercy. Kawachi was spotted mid turn at Salmanua and all bombers missed.

I have landed at Abemama and made a level 3 AF but I lost one CVE and took a torp into another. Also lost an AO.
