ORIGINAL: Zonso If the German player is required to play an 'almost perfect insanely aggressive' game in order to achieve historical results in 1942, then I would be looking at the game's design choices and not a player's skill level. My current fear is that if the German player plays 'almost perfect insanely aggressive game' (APIAG) [:D] Soviet role is reduced to mere watcher, not player. APIAG is required to WIN, To achieve historic results something close to APIAG, but not as perfect, is required. I still have to perfect my own APIAG to be able to point the finger and blame the design. IMO in gaming terms there is nothing more frustrating than playing Soviets vs APIAG Axis player (I faced two) - simply nothing sensible to do. What ACR played here was neither perfect (far from it) nor insane, nor aggressive (in fact it was very meek). Results are seen in this thread - Sovs holding Odessa and Smolensk in spring 42.
