As long as the game has the private/military split and your lack of control of the private as a feature, giving you control of freighter priority hardly sound like a good idea.

I have found the freighters to do whatever they do in an efficient enough manner. I can live with the construction of a space port half across the galaxy taking half an eternity. Even if a few large freighters under my control could get the materials there much faster. Why should I be able to construct a space port many sectors away easily?

However, it would be fun if it was more easy to see and understand what they are actually up to...

Yes Bingeling all good points. My gripe comes with waiting an eternity for a micro spaceport (or anything really) to be constructed at worlds within the same sector as my homeworld (or more generally close to already well developed areas). It seems the first world you colonise does okay but after that... [sm=Crazy-1271.gif]

What I want is a way to make sure that like, 6 tons of chromium gets transported half a sector so that the spaceport does not sit in the queue stalled for years. There is definitely something buggy with freighters at the moment when they will collect 8 or 9 of the 10 resources you need immediately and then wait forever to transport miniscule amounts of the final one or two resources. If they were really fulfilling demands they would have fitted these tiny amounts in the first load.

A quick fix would be to have a single freighter controllable by the player (maybe even with only one cargo bay) to unstick these blockages. (A proper logistics system would be even better, but I imagine much more demanding of new coding to make work.) I can't believe that the private sector would not get the message that these were desperately needed when whole worlds would be screaming blue murder.

If you got a game you feel got issues, could you upload it to the ftp server so I could have a peek? I ponder whether this is about your or about your game :)

Also I am slightly bored, and unwilling to start a game of DW until expansion (must keep my hunger!). So it could be fun to explore freighter work a bit.

I have had a space port in busy space be constructed incredibly fast with the help of neighbors. I sneakily grabbed a very rare source at an opportune moment (another empire had the system and a mine, the colony rebelled and became independent, I hurriedly colonized the rare source). The space port got constructed in no time at all, as this was an area of space with multiple large colonies of multiple empires that did not embargo me. Early days were all traffic of freighters from different empires delivering construction goods, and much later my own freighters arrived to bring the produce back home.

I would be scared that it would clog up my ship yards when it is my warships that really need updating...

You can modify the queue though. As long as they don't get stuck due to lack of resources...

I think they already retrofit at a somewhat slow rate, but I am not sure. I think they should retrofit when the design gets "too old" in a somewhat random fashion (some are techies and upgrade often, others not).

Does anyone know if a Trilogy pack will be released when Legends is out?
I want to play DW for myself with my own copy of the game instead of my friends copy since I only get to play it when we meet up so I can do some Voices for him for projects he works on. I cant really afford to buy them all individually to be honest :(

I'm pretty sure the expansion was stated to release in November, so that's still a good few weeks off.

And I want a bug free expansion.  So, please, take your time Eric :)

I would like to see a mechanic similar to the one used in the game "Majesty". In this game you play as a ruler of a kingdom,and can train knights, rangers, mages and other fantasy units but you have no direct control over any of them. If you want them to attack something, you set a bounty on it and all units in the neighbourhood move in for the kill. Maybe you could be able to set up special missions for the private sector (For example: the first freighter that brings 10 units of chromium here gets a bonus of X money - the more money the more appealing the mission).
