Daveion Steel -> RE: 1.05 Runtime c++ error (2/19/2012 12:17:47 PM)

Have done a complete reinstall and patched to latest official (not Beta) and the game works just fine, however updating to the beta patch and I have the same issue again. seems to crash while attacking with 17th army on turn two north of Brest Litovosk pocket, but is rarely the same combat.

I must add that it is a modified grand campaign scenario so that could be the problem although I can't remember modifying 17th army. I'll try on stock campaign and see if the issue persists.

I cannot replicate my issue since reinstalling the game to the latest Beta, there are times when the sound appears to cycle but the game does not crash.
I guess it could have been something that I currupted while using the editor, cannot think what as my changes are remedial. All I do is increase the german frontal armour on Pz III and Pz IV's by 20mm and 25mm and various other little changes that MAY have been a better option than designing a whole new Tank to combat the T-34.

Issue appears to be solved.

Thanks for the help and dedication you guys show to a great game.

Mr Steel.

I am glad that it works!

BTW, what OS you use? Did you upgrade DirectX, sound and video drivers to the latest?

I'm OLD and still on XP (SP3(I think)), afaik everything is up to date but I do tend to use automatic updates. Everything seems to have updated over the last 15 days. I have never updated the drivers for my sound or my Bios. bios updates scares me to death..

Mr Steel...

I have WinXP SP3 at home, WinVista SP2 at work and Win7 SP1 on my laptop... [;)]

The sound drivers should be updated - check the web site for your motherboard for latest drivers!

BTW, you don't have to update BIOS if nothing changed on your system (i.e. new RAM / CPU)...

Hi Guys,

Just joined the forum as I have an identical problem with runtime error on WitE 1.06.06 where the rutime error happens during the soviet AI turn and before it can save. It occurrs after about the first 5 turns and I have to revert back to the previous german sav and re do the turn it then will happen a few turns later. I am running Win 7 but I am a complete green horn when it comes to fiddling with the files. I have read the thread but it still does it Any advise

Can you try what other have tried (i.e. what was written here in this thread)?

Also can you update to latest BETA patch?

On my desktop I ran WITE. I logged in and clicked multi-player. Then clicked game which crashed while loading. I then went to my laptop and it did the same thing. I called a friend who plays too and asked him to try his game. He experienced the same problem. So it must be on Matrix's end. I think I will load original game and try and avoid latest update and see what happens. I'm wondering if the problem is related to the new update?

Kraft -> RE: 1.05 Runtime c++ error (7/13/2015 4:26:04 PM)

Which codec could be causing issues here?
imaadp32.acm
l3codeca.acm
msadp32.acm
msg711.acm
msgsm32.acm

morvael -> RE: 1.05 Runtime c++ error (7/13/2015 6:08:37 PM)

Try to install these:

Kraft -> RE: 1.05 Runtime c++ error (7/13/2015 6:24:47 PM)

Thank you for answering me but thankfully my crashes are gone since I've stopped some 3rd party software from starting on bootup and had a go with the codectweaktool.

I would link it but I'm not allowed at this point.
If someone else needs it it is the "[SOLVED] Anyone got a clue which codec is causing the runtime error?" thread in the steam hub for GGWitE

Kraft -> RE: 1.05 Runtime c++ error (7/13/2015 7:30:51 PM)

I spoke too soon, after a couple of crash free runs it is now back to crashing on a consistent basis. I also installed the exe from your links but it's still crashing.

richter53 -> RE: 1.05 Runtime c++ error (7/13/2015 11:38:38 PM)

I contacted Matrix support and after a few go rounds with them (going back to previous turns before problem appears; reinstalling game) the lone PBEM game was corrupt. Support allowed resigned me from game. I haven't had any more issues of Runtime errors. No crashes. Nothing. Everything seems to be OK. Kudos to Matrix tech support. It's to bad the game was terminated because I was just getting ready for a grand Russian winter offensive.

Kraft -> RE: 1.05 Runtime c++ error (7/15/2015 3:14:48 AM)

What do you mean with "Support allowed resigned me from game" ?

Icier -> RE: Runtime c++ error (8/25/2015 10:20:18 PM)

Currently playing PBEM game (41-45) as Soviets & its turn 12. When I go into a division HQ it is hanging & if I change its HQ its hangs even longer..in fact had to reload a turn as it locked. Its like when you are playing Germans-v- Computer.. 41 is fast game But as soon as you move into 42 its like playing an old Atari game. Have W10 upgrade & 1.08.04.

morvael -> RE: Runtime c++ error (8/26/2015 7:22:06 AM)

Could you send me your save in which it takes so long to change HQ?

Icier -> RE: Runtime c++ error (8/26/2015 11:38:28 PM)

Not a problem..how do I email it to you?[&:]

morvael -> RE: Runtime c++ error (8/31/2015 9:33:20 AM)

Bug fixed. Thanks, Ice.
