Afternoon tithe... Go to the city on Wednesday, to go into hospital for my next opo. Looking forward to all those lovely nurses to look after me, and the hospital food )The Dunedin hospital food is surprising good, and I say that with Mrs DivePac being a trained Chef).

But don't get carried away while I'm gone, as I have mobile Internet, so I'll be watching.

USSAmerica -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (2/13/2012 12:25:25 PM)

Very tired from a long weekend of driving and short sleep, but it was great to see my grandmother. She's extremely weak and tired, but in no pain. Her spirits are very high, and her wit and humor are as sharp and strong as ever. It was a fantastic visit. [:)]

Hi all,

BTW, any RAF news regarding job?

Leo "Apollo11"

Thought I'd updated you, guess the end of last year was busier than I remember [:D]

I got my service extended to my 12 year point just before Christmas after a 'discussion' between central manning and my squadron Warrant Officer. No sign of a move closer to home but the job security tops that by a long distance.

Whoa-late day tithe. Day kind of got away from me...[&o]

Mynok -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (2/14/2012 1:04:10 AM)

Gentlemen...and lady....

My wife leans over to me in church yesterday and says 'Find me a book about that.' Well 'that' happened to be an illustration using the evac at Dunkirk. I barely controlled a guffaw and bouncing my chin off the floor.

But I nonetheless am in need of your erudite help. I need a good book on Dunkirk that isn't too 'historian' and more 'accurate narrative'.

And long lost tithe......

Sorry this is but a drive by. I'm am far too busy with my new job to post much unfortunately.

You could do worse than Dunkirk by Hugh Sebag Montefiore - excellent book.

Re: Transfer of US$950,000.00 to your bank account.

What's all this then? It's going to be a good day!

quote:

This is to officially inform you that our office has been delegated by the
United Nations to seek out and pay compensations to several scammed
victims worldwide.

Lucky me!

quote:

Our investigations shows that you have been going through hard times and
has paid a lot of money to some dubious persons for the transfer of your
funds in the past.

Absolutely! Gosh, your investigations shows (sic) that? I'm truly impressed about the UN's investigational tools! [&o]

Your have therefore been selected as one of the beneficiaries of the
compensation programme and awarded the sum of US$950,000.00 as
compensation benefits in accordance with the United Nations
recommendations.

Score! Now to work on my resignation letter!

We therefore advice that you stop further communication with any
correspondence outside this office because you do not have to pay any
money or fee to receive your funds.

(Psst...hey guys...pretend I didn't post this here OK? You can keep a secret, can't you?

I guess I shouldn't ask why Mrs. Hodson doesn't have a UN title? No matter. I'm off to collect my bounty, or my name isn't Steven Mike Terminus.

Hey, leave me out of this!

Chickenboy -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (2/14/2012 3:37:40 PM)

I've got a dirty little secret. No, not that one. The one where I confess that I've been really enjoying "Downton Abbey" second season.

Terminus -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (2/14/2012 3:39:15 PM)

So do plenty of other people. Of course, most of them are women.

Terminus -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (2/14/2012 3:41:27 PM)

Ooh, I think I figured out CB's other little dirty secret.

Apollo11 -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (2/14/2012 3:57:31 PM)

Hi all,

Almost unbelievable... it is -1 degrees Centigrade and blue skies with sun... almost 14 days of snow are finally behind us although mornings are still -15 degrees Centigrade and all the snow that has fallen is not melting yet (around 30-50 cm of it in my town)...

Leo "Apollo11"

Schanilec -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (2/14/2012 4:12:17 PM)

CB's hit the mother lode.

Scooooore![:D]

Schanilec -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (2/14/2012 4:14:43 PM)

Great pics Leo. Winter sure can be beautiful....at times.
