ORIGINAL: BrucePowers My 11 year old car with 143,000 miles on it now needs 2500 dollars worth of repairs. I now have to consider the economics of a new or new used car. <sigh> This car has treated me very well for the last 11 years. "Sunk costs", dude. Sunk costs. Oh, by the way, what's a 'new used' car? [&:] A new used car is a used car that you buy after looking at options. The 1991 Tempo I bought used in 1991 was a new used car. It had 8,000 miles on it and cost about 5,000 dollars less than a new 1991 Tempo at the time. Basically it is a very late model used car. Per the build plate on the door it was about 6 months old we we got it. We also bought a 2001 Chevy Astro in Sept of 2002 that had 10,000 miles on it. Per my definition it fits this category. At least in my way thinking [:)]
