Isn't that the truth! Oh well, as soon as I'm safely installed at my new location we'll be looking for our pad anyway.

We're going to be up that way on 1st of July for the Waddington airshow

No idea what I'll be doing then. I don't think that I'm allowed out much for the first year [:D] I'll let you know if I'm going to be there, I haven't been to an airshow since 2004 and that was only because they made me go to Fairford and 'protect' the planes.

Good evening chaps. I'm an airman without a squadron now. [:(] Just three short weeks to do nothing, except pack all our belongings and move my family to a new house I don't actually have yet [:@]

Best of luck Martin!

One of the things I don't miss about the military is moving constantly.

Good luck house hunting, Martin!

I can't complain too much, this is the second time (fourth if you include training bases) I've moved in 8 years. The last move was only half a mile between locations so I've done alright so far. It's a case of getting the relevant people to allocate a married quarter to us so we can move in. But a lack of MQs is not helping me.

I always ended up living off base in an apartment or the like. There was never available base housing for married folk until I had already been living somewhere for a year or more, and then really didn't want to bother with moving again. [:D]

Dixie -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (5/20/2012 5:02:56 PM)

Following music video linkls on Youtube whilst playing a bit of Football Manager. I never realised just how, erm, 80s the decade of my birth was [:D]

No. We might have used it to hit hippies and get the MOD in trouble. They were worried that the anti-war lot would chuck paint or similar on the planes. Aeroplanes cost millions of pounds whereas ACs cost bugger all, the idea was that we were to somehow stop anyone from climbing over the barriers or launching stuff over aircraft without actually giving them a beating.

Somehow our presence seemed less worthwhile next to the armed coppers patrolling around the American hardware.
