I dunno, Schanilec-if someone is going to stick a bunch of nuclear missiles in my land, I figure the least they could do is pick up the tab on property taxes. Know what I'm sayin'?

Well they sold it to us for $2,200.00. Facilities and all. 20 acres. Buried the underground stuff. Dirty rats. I own the while thing now. So it only cost me $440.00.
Taxes are mostly the land that surround it. So does anyone have any spare ICBM's laying around and would like taken off thier hands? I'm here to help.[:)]

You know, I wonder what will happen if one goes to the Wikipedia entry for the "January 18th, 2012 internet blackout"?

That's the plan. The Buildings are already there. First though: Pay-off the house. Then ponder how much to put into it.

Schanilec -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (1/18/2012 9:14:32 PM)

It's Stalingrad outside today. Had about 1" of TWTSNBN. -6F. and -32F. Windchill. I have to remember. Warm up the SUV before I go somewhere. I hate it that it finally warms up when I get to my destinations. To spoiled this year. Tonight -20F. or more. Good night for just hanging out in the den.

jeffk3510 -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (1/18/2012 9:23:09 PM)

It was cold this morning, but that wind was BRUTAL! [:o]

nashvillen -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (1/18/2012 10:29:52 PM)

Something on my bucket list:

A visit to see the USS Kidd (Fletcher Class) in Baton Rouge, LA (picture taken by Richard Duncan, another GIS guy I know):

Ayup. Historically, this is the coldest week of the year. Tomorrow's high here is 4F. Count 'em. 1...2...3...4...

That's one of the problems with efficient 4 cylinder motor vehicles-they take forever to warm up. Give me an oil-burnin', 8 cylinder inefficient old Chevy (or Ford) station wagon or pickup truck for these days.

Schanilec -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (1/18/2012 11:03:24 PM)

Speaking of which. I'm starting my SUV now.

Schanilec -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (1/18/2012 11:06:24 PM)

She started. It was a little ugly. That battery is starting to show some aging. Plug 'er in tonight. Maybe heat up the garage for awhile tonight.

Tithe...

My poor old dog Laddie, for whom this version of me is named had a seizure yesterday. He has perked up and is eating today, but I don't think we have long with the poor old sod now. He was a true hero of the war on drugs. In his 6 years of service he must have sniffed out going on a tonne of cocaine.

Terminus -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (1/19/2012 1:13:33 PM)

Dang... Poor muttski...
