WOW, just WOW! Breaking Bad [X(]

I never liked watching series. Last year they convinced me to watch Game of Thrones. Not that bad.

But Breaking Bad is simply astonishing! A black humour comedy (and drama) filled with hilarious losers (aka real people). The lot of them.

Breaking Bad is truly amazing. My wife and I are about ready to re-watch the entire series again.

Still can't wait for the arrival of "winter"...it is coming!!

What I find so amazing about Breaking Bad is that the main character played a somewhat loser role in "Malcolm in the middle". That series was pretty good, enjoyed it back then, and he played the dad that never could get it right. And lo and behold he pops up again many years later and becomes an icon in Breaking Bad.

Yeah, and as a character so far beyond "Malcolm in the Middle" too.

Saw an interesting documentary on the death of Marilyn Monroe last night. I do not know much about this episode but the claims made on the program (if true) definitely point to it not being suicide....

They most likely had that as a premise for even making the documentary so it would sell better.

To bad Slaakman isn't here to shed some light on this. [;)][:(]

Binge watching the Resident Evil series.

I just watched the mini-series The Great Train Robbery. I enjoyed it greatly since it appears to be fairly historically correct. I am sure that there are lots of details they didn't get right but for me that was of no concern. A lot of good actors told the story of a robbery that has become a legend.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2763296/

Edit: It was nice to learn that the only robber that I knew by name, Ronnie Biggs, had a minor part in the actual robbery. [:D]

There's a US reality TV star on it - Kendra Wilkinson? Apparently she was one of Hugh Heffners girls and now has her own show?

I've recently begun watching the excellent drama show Downtown Abbey. The advantage of being late is that there is plenty to watch at once before the fun is over. [:)]

Ostwindflak -> RE: What program/film/documentary are you watching now? (12/12/2014 11:25:47 AM)

Just started watching the HBO mini series The Pacific for the second time, at my wife's request. Ironically enough my wife does not like video war games, but likes to watch war movies and these series. She also loved Band of Brothers and we recently went and saw Fury and she liked that a lot too.

One of her all time favorite movies is Downfall; I don't know if that is a good thing or if I should be worried... [&:]

I mentioned "The Book Thief" in the book section earlier this year.

Just seen the film version. A very, very good film - not surprisingly perhaps, not as good as the book, but an excellent attempt nonetheless. Decent Cast helps including Geoffrey Rush and Emily Watson, and a couple of great performances from Sophie Nelisse (in the title role) and Nico Liersch as her friend.

Recommended [:)]

Totally agree. The book is excellent and the movie is very good indeed. I think the casting all around was well done here.

This weekend I have been watching Marco Polo on Netflix, not too bad, but then again not too good either. Seems they went for "if we have enough nudity, we can make the show longer".
