The Box set of 12 discs came today so have begun re-watching Centennial - very good [:)]
warspite1

Well I'm onto CD 3. I've got to say £10 for 26 hours of viewing is pretty good value [:)] especially when its such a good story - definitely as good as I remembered all those years ago. Just a shame they couldn't have got a real Scotsman (or at least an actor that could do the accent) to play McKeag.

I've ordered the box now.

Just finished watching "Broadchurch" - really really good.

Can't see how they can make a series two without wholesale cast changes though !

I just finished watching season one of Broadchurch. Nice show and good acting.

I am watching Series 2 at the moment and guess what? Apart from a couple of departures, the cast is exactly the same [;)]

Yes, I did. But I only remember that I liked it and that I was impressed by Clay Basket (Barbara Carrera).

Now I am going to watch Shetland. [:)]

Lots of good crime drama made in UK.

mbar -> RE: What program/film/documentary are you watching now? (1/26/2015 1:11:31 AM)

The Imitation Game was fantastic. WWII, intelligence, research, intrigue, drama, and history.

Sons of liberty... Someone should nudge old warspites rocker and wake him. How could an uneducated Sam Adams even dare to stur up so much dander against the most just and honorable royal crown?!?! This is just outrageous!

Edit: Loving the Sam Adams beer commercials! Especially the one when the Englishman says "how could you name a great beer like this after a rebel rouser"! Part one is tonight followed by episodes Monday and Tuesday nights on the history channel.

The British film shot during the liberation of Bergen-Belsen.
It is painful to watch, but a film I think should be made mandatory in schools, as it tells the true horror of the KZ camps in a way I've not seen before...

warspite1 -> RE: What program/film/documentary are you watching now? (1/31/2015 7:52:09 PM)

Watched Maleficent with the little warspites. A very good film with a nice twist on the regular Sleeping Beauty fairytale [:)]

warspite1 -> RE: What program/film/documentary are you watching now? (1/31/2015 7:55:41 PM)

Anyone see Fortitude on Sky Atlantic? Looks promising.

terje439 -> RE: What program/film/documentary are you watching now? (1/31/2015 10:38:01 PM)

Just watched "The boat that rocked" for the umptieth time. Just love that one, great cast and even better music...

wodin -> RE: What program/film/documentary are you watching now? (2/1/2015 12:22:00 AM)

Totally glued to Youtube for updates on the Ukrain conflict. What a mess there. [:(]

warspite1 -> RE: What program/film/documentary are you watching now? (2/16/2015 7:25:16 PM)

Channel 4's Indian Summers and BBC's The Casual Vacancy.

Both started reasonably well, let's hope they continue in the same vein....

Orm -> RE: What program/film/documentary are you watching now? (2/17/2015 3:02:27 PM)

Begun watching old SF movies. The Fifth Element and Alien were first up.

Broadchurch ends next week [:(] This series has had its knockers - but I'm still enjoying it [:)] and David Tennant and Olivia Coleman are always worth watching.

Started watching Wolf Hall on BBC2. If anyone has a liking for Tudor history - they should try and see this.

It tells the story of the rise of Thomas Cromwell. Only seen episode 1 so far - but so far, so very, very good.
warspite1

I guess that's a no then. That's a shame - its been a really good production - comes to an end next Wednesday.

Damian Lewis is a qualiteeee actor.

Josh -> RE: What program/film/documentary are you watching now? (2/19/2015 3:49:04 PM)

Been following two programs lately, both on BBC. First is World at War, and the second is "Rivers" with Griff Rhys Jones. "Rivers" is completed now I think because it's now "Lost Routes". Griff Rhys Jones...[&o]

Coolio - I will have to give that a watch!

Broadchurch ended last night. Not as good as Series 1, but worth viewing.

The Casual Vacancy and Indian Summers continue to be worth a watching - as does Wolf Hall (finishes this week) and Fortitude.

Just finished the excellent Wolf Hall.

[Spoiler alert]

Anne Boleyn gets her head chopped off! Never saw that coming....

I bet Mr. Cromwell eventually gets his chopped off, too.
Just an educated guess, and no, I know absolutely nothing about English history. Why do you ask?

You are very prescient indeed sir.

Just goes to show what treacherous times they were. One minute you are totally indispensible, the King's personal "fixer" and the next, you are getting your head removed from your shoulders having been found guilty without trial.... [X(]

And we colonists thought 'no taxation without representation' was bad. [:D]
