Yeah. Everyone has their own unique way of playing to get the experience they want out of games. I just like seeing my infantry lying in wait as an enemy tank passes and then WHAM! An ambush with a shrek. If you have a nice size battle with 3 or 4 groups going at it you will most likely miss these moments. I play for fun and less like a hardcore simulation but that is just my style. I am loving many of the things this game brings to the table though. Just wish the turn based option was there to catch as many good moments as possible.

Absolutely - to each his own! I do support the idea of a playback feature. I was just suggesting a way to get more out of the game as it stands.

Are those soldier uniforms from a mod or is that vanilla?

Uniform mod, you can read about it over at the graviteam forums.

Thats it, the summer part is not finished yet.

Missouri_Rebel -> RE: Awesome In-Game Screens (6/24/2012 5:08:11 PM)

Thanks again Icebox. Seems like I've been saying that quite often lately.

No problem.

icebox -> RE: Awesome In-Game Screens (6/26/2012 4:29:05 AM)

Tanks seem harder to kill since the lastest update this one even charged and flattened my russian gun and crew.

Redmarkus5 -> RE: Awesome In-Game Screens (6/26/2012 2:05:27 PM)

Yes, I have seen that happen too. Enemy troops are killed if run over, but own troops are not injured (to deal with path-finding glitches) - very cleverly designed.

A duel between two flame tanks, each on fire

Missouri_Rebel -> RE: Awesome In-Game Screens (6/28/2012 10:49:55 AM)

The German tank is set fully ablaze. 2 crew members made it out on fire, 1 died next to the tank and the other can be seen running around on fire.

Even the clothes are charred once the flames go out...gruesome.

Off-topic.

Has anyone been watching the Soviet Storm series? (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5XxIqzRIFug) Thoughts? Some of the graphics used are very effective (a few are really bad, though, and there are some very overweight actors in some of the combat scenes LOL)

budd -> RE: Awesome In-Game Screens (6/30/2012 5:36:29 PM)

made an animated gif. hope its not too small and runs ok...

[image]local://upfiles/32191/8429301E5CED414982358B0FFD81A902.gif[/image]

Well i had to reduce it to get it under the size limit. Blew up the tank and just started snapping shots as the guy started running around on fire. Wish they'd raise the limit on this forum for uploads. some of the forums have 1mb limit, why 500k on this one?

budd -> RE: Awesome In-Game Screens (11/15/2012 3:27:01 AM)

Back into APOS. Game has atmosphere thats for sure.

Waiting for an attack, in the fog in the dead of night...then a fight breaks out.

Redmarkus5 -> RE: Awesome In-Game Screens (11/17/2012 4:24:16 PM)

Something I haven't seen before.

The crew of this Marder lost a track to a T34. Once the enemy tank was out of LoS, the crew jumped out and started making repairs. When the T34 came back into LoS they climbed back in, knocked it out and then resumed work on the damaged track. All of this was AI-driven.

Amazing bit of coding.

Redmarkus5 -> RE: Awesome In-Game Screens (11/17/2012 5:51:56 PM)

Yeh - that's the technical phrase I was trying to remember ;)

Dane49 -> RE: Awesome In-Game Screens (11/17/2012 6:38:28 PM)

The AI does a pretty decent job in this game,not great but decent.
Down the road I'm sure Graviteam will improve the AIs performance to a more acceptable and challenging level given time,but overall I'm pretty satisfied with it performance.

I remember Andrey stating once that it would take him 100 years to code a tactical AI genius.But,I have noticed that the AI has improved dramatically with the last couple patches,though it still needs some serious attention to troops just standing around while under fire.

I'd also like to see the hand to hand combat improve,right now it looks ridiculous.

I generally have to give the AI a 3 to 1 advantage during quick battles when they are the attacker,but I'm fairly happy with the AIs performance on the defense.

I think if Graviteam is still around in another 5 years we will have a very decent AI to contend with in the future.
