wodin -> Lunacy on the net, forums, company (5/11/2012 9:37:54 PM)

Sometimes the shear lunacy of people on the net is dumbfounding. Trolling is something I detest, also feuds and vendettas by people who really don't know each other at all, just faceless made up names. Trying to get people prosecuted for crimes on unsound circumstantial evidence is in my opinion not only bizarre but also very frightening.

Who else sometimes gets left with a bad taste in their mouths from forums?

The sad thing is these places are where alot of people who have no contact with like minded folks come to socialise and have a laugh. I for one enjoy the forums and they are abit of a lifeline as my only other company is my 11 year old daughter so it's good to find someone else to talk to about things I'm into.

I suppose it's a love hate relationship, the biggest gripe though is it does infringe on game time aswell.

Anyway I will say no more on the subject except it's good to be with friends even though you are all faceless avatars:)

A big shout out to those I consider good mates on here.

I feel the same way.

Unfortunately I am left with a bad taste in my mouth after my own postings. [;)]

Generally speaking the Matrix forums are all good natured. We all have an interest in wargaming and by and large we all get along.

Best wishes,
Steve

Scott_WAR -> RE: Lunacy on the net, forums, company (5/11/2012 9:49:46 PM)

paruskki,...I find if I wash my feet before opening my mouth, that they usually dont leave that bad a taste in my mouth when I inevitably put them in there..................

ilovestrategy -> RE: Lunacy on the net, forums, company (5/11/2012 9:53:01 PM)

Same here Scott, same here. [:D]

nate25 -> RE: Lunacy on the net, forums, company (5/11/2012 10:04:17 PM)

I popped in one evening at another forum that shall remain nameless, and I found it. . . distasteful.

We cut up here and have fun, and police ourselves quite well, I'd say.

vonRocko -> RE: Lunacy on the net, forums, company (5/11/2012 10:29:30 PM)

All in all, there is a good group here.[;)]

Except for a certain America hating left wing Danish commie.[:-]

I agree that we police ourselves well. One gigantic difference between this forum(well, any wargame) forum and any other is the lack of serious vulgarity. Yes, sometimes the mild hell and damn get tossed in for dramatic effect, but compared to just about all other forums we are a bunch of pre-schoolers. Just today I was reading a news story on a well known site and simply because people did not agree with the FACTS of the article they were throwing around every filthy word they could think of(tempted to say of which political persuasion they were...but self policing here).

Our only dangerous criminal, according to some, is SLAAKMAN. [:D][:D]

nate25 -> RE: Lunacy on the net, forums, company (5/11/2012 10:46:14 PM)

No no, the Green is clean. [:D]

He's just very . . . enthusiastic [8D]

warspite1 -> RE: Lunacy on the net, forums, company (5/11/2012 11:06:47 PM)

I think Matrix are a little too lax in their standards sometimes; I mean who the hell gave authoritah for nate25 to be allowed to post here?? [;)] Surely being an illiterate should preclude someone?

Come to think of it - so should having a hairy-backed wife!! I'm banning myself from the forum....

wodin -> RE: Lunacy on the net, forums, company (5/11/2012 11:09:50 PM)

I knew the gang would be the first to post on this:)

Good lads all of you, funny enough even cunningly exciting things can leave a bad taste in the mouth, ahem. That was abit much wasn't it?

BTW Mr Slaak is the resident superhero villain. He is needed as much as the superheroes.

rodney727 -> RE: Lunacy on the net, forums, company (5/11/2012 11:13:46 PM)

I feel the same way. After a hard day in the retai industry I really enjoy reading other people post. This is the only forum that I visit everyday.

So you're the one in the t-shirt?

Titanwarrior89 -> RE: Lunacy on the net, forums, company (5/11/2012 11:30:41 PM)

This is the main forum that I am on 90% of the time and its the only one that feels like home.  Overall I think the people on here are pretty good people[:)]

Warspite1

Yes - see the Grand Prix thread. Mrs W is a big follower of car no.3 as you can see. I've always felt more comfortable with long flowing locks like the footballers I so admire. And wearing a bra? Well it just feels right..er what are we talking about here? [sm=scared0018.gif]

Post Wh*&^s, that all day is momma ! Get me count up to and beyond space, and into the sunset road the three hoarsemen, yeah they ride fearlesssss thru the annals of de forum, leaving a trail of worthless crumbs for those of us stupid enough to read this pitiful self flageration and drivel.

Bah Humbug !, all the wasted internet time I could have saved but alas I read this drivel instead. [:D][>:]

It's a "Seinfeld" thing. Women have the brassiere, and men have the mansiere. Too American, I guess. It hit the wall in turn 3.

Wella wella wella wella my little Droogies! What brings about this melancholy reflection today? Just remember that I, THE MIGHTY SLAAKMAN am in full control, even when she is sitting upon my face!
