Is it possible to get a draw after a poor 1941 campaign as GHC? That will be the subject of this AAR. My opponent Schascha is a very good chessplayer and I've been completely outplayed during summer 1941. For the details see his AAR (in french) http://www.leqg.org/ He was also terribly efficient with the partisans and from mid to end october 1941 4 of my 5 rail lines were cut. So I decided to go back to Poland (shame on me[:-]). A weakness comes from the fact that Schascha uses a lot of bombing HQ and killed Guderian, Von Kleist... it's a clear handicap The losses... 4.4 mio. axis troops? wow. i never saw such a high number here at this time. you can easily get a draw if you keep defending and giving up space slowly where its necessary.

I have: - roughly 50 000 german squads available - a good Luftwaffe (all J87 were converted in fighters) and 95% of the fighters are FW190 and BF109G6 - all Pzd /Mot are at full strength - up to 4 lines of 3 to 4 level forts - more than 100 AP in bank I haven't space to give but he will have to hit very hard for each hex. If "draw" as Axis you will have done well! And very well explained AAR, thanks. Like your ideas of holding great reserve/ready units behind fronts, but makes placing them very important.

I only loose 2 hexes (except italians) and due to mud I reoccupate immediatly these hexes. Some successfull defensive fights were very intense Minsk sector [img]http://img15.hostingpics.net/pics/891120b1minsk.jpg[/img] [img]http://img15.hostingpics.net/pics/515880b3minsk.jpg[/img] [img]http://img15.hostingpics.net/pics/974265b2minsk.jpg[/img] And in the Nikola�ev sector [img]http://img15.hostingpics.net/pics/523629b1krivoi.jpg[/img] As you noticed, I have attached a lot of units directly to Army HQ and disbanded some corps HQ. Another very lamo part of wite I hope witw doesn't have the same stupid "random" death system or all the GHC leaders will be dead in a month. Another great example of why people should disband Corp HQ's. If you are set up right you can get by with 7 and even 6 for reactions and from reading the AAR, you are set-up right. You have 4.5 million so you have a draw no problem. I was holding off 9.5 million with 3.5 handy capped with several bugs. Its nice to see more and more GHC players learning the art of defending. Very good AAR, old dogs can learn new tricks. [sm=00000436.gif]

But they lost roughly 500 men at each air strike. Now I stack them with other units and try to move them regularly to prevent too easy air striking.

I think it's a good idea. In fact it's my first campaign versus human reaching mid 1943. I don't know if 12 killed is a "normal" result.
