This view of the front lines is further south from the above image and includes Kiev and the battle along the river bank and the back and
forth battles going on there.

This view of the front lines is a little further south from the above image and includes the Crimea. John is mopping up some groupings
of Soviet units and after that then the main battle will ensue.

Here's a closer view of the Kiev area and the river bank fighting. Mostly it's attacks from the Soviets that go nowhere but cause losses
to both sides. I can afford the losses better than John can. I've got more on-hand squads than John has and I don't mind spending
them.

Here's how the air war is going:

Here's some of my losses so far:

larryfulkerson -> RE: Field Marshal von Fogger vs Comrade Marshal Fulkerson (11/20/2013 7:12:56 PM)

Here's a view of the Crimea. I'm moving up against the German units and I'm doing some minimize losses attacks, some probes, to see
how difficult it's going to be to move the Germans backward. It's probably not possible yet, my units aren't strong enough and the
shock level is too low. But I need to inflict some losses on John or he will be unstoppable in the spring.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Field Marshal von Fogger vs Comrade Marshal Fulkerson (11/20/2013 8:20:02 PM)

I thought I'd try my hand at some airfield attacks even though John is doing enough to satisfy both of us. I usually end up losing about
10 X whatever John loses but it's necessary to give John some losses. Anyway here's how the air war is going:

larryfulkerson -> RE: Field Marshal von Fogger vs Comrade Marshal Fulkerson (11/22/2013 2:57:46 PM)

I'm probably overconfident but I've started a march westward in the Crimea area. I'm moving people up against the German line and I've
started attacking and probing and it's probably wasted effort but I'm going to try to see if I can't get the Germans to quit the Crimea.

Here's a view of the riverbank fighting near Kiev. As you can see the front lines haven't changed much for about 15 turns now. I'm
guessing it's going to take a long time to bring about some change in this area. This is 26Oct41 game time.

EDIT: I'm expecting a lot of big changes when the river freezes over. I'm guessing it'll be easy for me to outflank and infiltrate the Axis
lines then.

Wuffer -> RE: Field Marshal von Fogger vs Comrade Marshal Fulkerson (11/22/2013 3:26:49 PM)

You two were really quick!
Fastest gameplay ever, is it really '43 now? :-)

Seriously, Larry, look at the German counters. No offence please, but I think you didn't even burnt your initial pool of rifle squads.

Um......John is the Axis player and he's got the German counters. I'm not sure what you mean. Um.....here's some of my rifle squad
losses. I'm still doing fairly well so far. I really like that 800+ rate on the production of Rifle Squads. That's a lot of squads per turn.

Wuffer -> RE: Field Marshal von Fogger vs Comrade Marshal Fulkerson (11/22/2013 11:45:10 PM)

Larry, I mean your defence was great.
The German army is nearly in a shape like '43.
The front at Kiew is static now for several weeks, so we could asume that they are fully supplied - but all along the front I found low single numbers on their counters. Maybe I'm wrong, but I could not see a coming German offensive.

Hey Wuffer dude: I think maybe I've figured out what you mean. I think you mean that the front lines are in the approx position they
would be in in 1943. I think so too. I'm moving troops toward the front to get at the Axis units and I'm attacking so as to cause the Axis
some losses. It's costing me a lot of people but I'm figuring that it's a necessary expenditure. I tried to get something going, some kind
of pushing but it's looking like John is already moving people to that area so I'm going to have to try to rail some people to a different
area and try again. The far south, the Crimea, looks like a good spot to heat the war up some more. I'm attacking so hard that I've
already seen at least one unit evaporate during the attack. D'oh. I hate when that happens.

Very good to see the game is still going. Congrats both.

It's all John's fault. He's quite the trooper. Entire family goes in the hospital and he's still sending me turns. I'm impressed.

Here's how the air war is going in T38:

larryfulkerson -> RE: Field Marshal von Fogger vs Comrade Marshal Fulkerson (11/24/2013 12:56:51 PM)

I've got a Fort that keeps spawning way over in the corner of the map. Another bug to fix w/ this version. John tells me that I can
disband stuff that spawns here. Good thing too. Alas, I can't disband the aircraft in this image. But the fort is going to go.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Field Marshal von Fogger vs Comrade Marshal Fulkerson (11/24/2013 1:17:08 PM)

Here's the front lines in T38. We've gotten to the stage of the game when the front lines don't move very much. And when they DO
move they move only in a couple of places. A hex or two changes hands, say. And it's going to be this way for the rest of the game
maybe. Perhaps John can get something going next spring or summer but I'm guessing that it's going to be WWI style for a lot of the
rest of this game. I'm guessing. It'd be more fun for John to get an offensive going next March of '42, say. We'll see what happens.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Field Marshal von Fogger vs Comrade Marshal Fulkerson (11/24/2013 1:37:36 PM)

Here's my current losses in squads. I've got on hand about 82 divisions worth of squads and I'm about to spend that much trying to
hurt the Axis by attacking at horrendous shock odds and I'm trying to find those places in the front line where there's 3 different hexes
adjacent to the target hex. That's my best odds that way. I get better results w/ those kinds of flank attacks.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Field Marshal von Fogger vs Comrade Marshal Fulkerson (11/24/2013 2:18:45 PM)

Here's the Crimea now. I'm still pressing, pushing, fighting my way to the west. Some of the Axis units actually move and I have a sort
of bulge started. Maybe I can develop that and catch some Axis units against the river w/ no escape. Maybe.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Field Marshal von Fogger vs Comrade Marshal Fulkerson (11/24/2013 11:37:27 PM)

Here's my losses in squads after all the attacking in T38. As you can see I've lost over 2K Rifle Squads this turn alone.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Field Marshal von Fogger vs Comrade Marshal Fulkerson (11/24/2013 11:43:05 PM)

Here's how the Crimea ended up in T38. In the yellow circle you can see how I've got a bulge started. I'm hoping I can develop it
further and maybe isolate some Axis units and then destroy them.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Field Marshal von Fogger vs Comrade Marshal Fulkerson (11/24/2013 11:45:57 PM)

I did a lot of combat support w/ the squadrons so there's a lot of planes that got shot down. This is the air war final display at the end of
T38.

fogger -> RE: Field Marshal von Fogger vs Comrade Marshal Fulkerson (11/28/2013 11:35:17 AM)

Another bug to be fixed
This turn my 1st Kav Div withdrew (what was left of it). However the units within the div withdrew except for 1st Kav HQ which did not withdraw. However the HQ for the 267 Inf div withdrew in its place. So I now have the 1st Kav HQ with no units and the 3 regts of the 267 Inf Div with no HQ.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Field Marshal von Fogger vs Comrade Marshal Fulkerson (12/1/2013 10:39:40 PM)

I offered John Fogger a re-start so we can fix the Kay Division and the 267th HQ but he said he
wants to keep going. What a trooper.

Petey -> RE: Field Marshal von Fogger vs Comrade Marshal Fulkerson (12/2/2013 12:05:30 AM)

Larry your offensive in the Crimea shows the potential to due a modest amount of damage to the Axis. Probably not recapture any objectives but a real opportunity to take down some Axis troops.

I think so too. Maybe. I saw John rail some more troops to the area though so my progress might come to a screeching halt here
shortly.

Here's my losses as of the beginning of T39:

larryfulkerson -> RE: Field Marshal von Fogger vs Comrade Marshal Fulkerson (12/3/2013 3:55:09 PM)

There's no movement going on in the Leningrad area. Lots of fighting in the Pskov area is going on. Some probing of the Finns
front line is happening. Other than that not much is happening in the Leningrad area.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Field Marshal von Fogger vs Comrade Marshal Fulkerson (12/3/2013 4:00:18 PM)

Here's the front lines a little bit south from the above image. In other words, this is the Smolensk area now-a-days. There's lots of
bombardment and Soviet attacking happening in this area but the front line isn't moving at all. D'oh. After the infusion of the Heavy
Duty Guards Divisions to try to make a hole there's no movement going on. Rats.

This is the Kiev area w/ the front lines along the river bank. Lots of fighting happening here too but no movement is happening.
