mercho -> RE: Performance (9/29/2013 12:07:47 PM)

Hi Sunburn,

i would be happy too !

MaB1708 -> RE: Performance (9/29/2013 12:07:49 PM)

Have just finished some documentation on sth else for Mike w/ old build and will now install, thanks!

Amaris -> RE: Performance (9/29/2013 1:04:57 PM)

I would kike to test the patch too if possible.[&o]

thewood1 -> RE: Performance (9/29/2013 1:11:46 PM)

I have run a couple scenarios and performance at 1:1 is a lot better and zoom/scroll is a lot smoother.

The center on zoom feature and launch cancel are good additions. Just make sure you turn on the zoom feature in game options.

ElDuderino -> RE: Performance (9/29/2013 1:30:26 PM)

I would also like to test the patch.

montanaza -> RE: Performance (9/29/2013 2:16:32 PM)

@ Sunburn

Zoom to cursor is awesome!

Performance definitely seems better. I like to keep relief layer on, and seems much smoother as it is now.

What did you change the 1:1 timing to? 1 update per second, or 0.5 per second?

Dimitris -> RE: Performance (9/29/2013 2:38:05 PM)

We didn't change anything in the pulse duration settings _yet_,but we did optimize a number of expensive rendering operations that freed up CPU cycles for both the UI and the core sim engine. Some other changes too.

Setting the pulse duration in 1:1 mode to 1 sec (aka "Harpoon mode") is in the cards, but it may be a bit early to include it in the first update; first we have to test the hell out of it to ensure it doesn't break anything.

We also intend to retain the current 0.1 sec pulse as a "High fidelity" option for those who appreciate it (we do).

montanaza -> RE: Performance (9/29/2013 2:42:29 PM)

Okay great - thanks for the quick beta patch. Much appreciated.

Okay I gotta run, Pyongyang calls and I have a date with some wild weasels headed north this afternoon!

Will keep eyes peeled for any other things to report back while up at angels 40.

moontan -> RE: Performance (9/29/2013 3:43:26 PM)

i just bought the game minutes ago.

i am very glad to see this kind of support from the developers.
i had doubts about purchasing Command but i think i made the right decision.

i'm off to install the game. [8D]

goulash -> RE: Performance (9/29/2013 4:05:33 PM)

Please can I request to test the fix. I have done some things such as malware cleaning etc and turning off borders. Also does anyone have some recommended settings for Nvidia cards for this game?

Having a ball with the game by the way but I think I have spotted one or two bugs or maybe nice to have things. Good work folks

Kipper -> RE: Performance (9/29/2013 4:20:16 PM)

Any chance of getting the test fix? Struggling with performance to the point where I have left the game aside for the moment and reading the database! Thanks

moontan -> RE: Performance (9/29/2013 4:49:17 PM)

i just installed the game.

i checked for the zooming and scrolling issues some members are experiencing.
i loaded a few big scenarios and everything is smooth at 1:1 seconds, as well as 1:15 seconds.
i'm using a i3 with 8 GB of RAM,Windows 8.1, a NVIDIA GT 630 using the latest drivers.

Renehasp -> RE: Performance (9/29/2013 4:54:32 PM)

I too, would like to test the patch.

First and foremost awesome game and my hats to the developers for all their hard work!
Guys! worth every penny. I launched Harpoon 3 just to compare and this is light years ahead!!

Thank you so much for all your hard work.

Suggestions

1. Use a mouse button to exit out of the Plot area. I'm super lazy and don't want to keep going back to the keyboard and hitting esc.

2. Add links in Aircraft in the "Air Ops" section to the Database so that one can click on whats in the airbase and pull up it's information form the DB.

3.Add Missle information in the DB. When a missile is flying it would be nice to get specs on it like when clicking on a plane or ship.

4. Add the Throttle\Altitude\Depth option as a drop down in the right control pane with UNIT STATUS \ Doctrin & ROE

-Plotting
in Plotting allow to set directives hit wave point 2 and set speed,altitude,course and ROE action. (AKA turn off Hold fire when unit reaches WP 3.

Thanks for hearing me out. :)

-

Performance issues I am experiencing.
1. Slowness with the GUI
2. 1 sec is very choppy with the unit movements
3. 30 I hear sounds but units aren't moving at all on the screen.
4. Sounds have loud pops and distortions in them.

Senario I am testing with is
Tutorial Basic Training Air Operations.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I tried changing some of my settings as this board suggested and still see all around slowness.
Large scenarios like China vs Russia are totally unplayable on my system.

I have .net 4.5 with latest updates.

I have a much more powerful PC/graphics card/latest drivers but using Windows 7. It runs WOT at full detail at 120 fps.

erichswafford -> RE: Performance (9/29/2013 6:21:17 PM)

It's reasonably snappy on both my laptop (i7-4700m & GTX 765m) and desktop (i7-2600k & GTX 670).

Here are my 2 suggestions (bear in mind that I haven't read the entire thread):

1) Turn off Aero glass (sure makes a difference in DCS world).
2) Turn off Microsoft Security Essentials Real-time Protection (I've seen it choke games where lots of individual files get accessed, as it presumably checks each and every one for viral signatures).

I'll re-enable both those and see if I can replicate the poor performance some folks are seeing. I sure hope you guys can get it resolved fast. Don't lose hope, however - my system sounds extremely similar to many of the ones having issues, so there's nothing intrinsically wrong, I think.

tevans6220 -> RE: Performance (9/29/2013 6:39:21 PM)

If possible could I please get the beta patch.

Just an FYI, I said I wasn't going to buy this but I just couldn't hold out. Very good game. Kudos to the devs.

nico71 -> RE: Performance (9/29/2013 6:59:15 PM)

Just publish the beta patch! Got the game yesterday, same problem.

JRyan -> RE: Performance (9/29/2013 7:51:30 PM)

I understand your frustrations but they need to test the Beta really good before release, if not people will be griping about bugs and stuff if they are introduced. I am sure they are trying to get multiple things ready before official release..

goulash -> RE: Performance (9/29/2013 8:04:09 PM)

Yeah I understand. Just a shame as I think I mentioned it in a other thread and did not contribute into this thread thus appears I have now missed out [:(]. I go away in 2 days so was just getting giddy to see if I could open a large scenario and see a smooth gameplay [&o]

Dimitris -> RE: Performance (9/29/2013 8:21:02 PM)

Here is the link to Build 434 (beta), have at it: http://www.warfaresims.com/temp/Command_B434.zip

If you are using Vista/Win7/Win8 make sure you first run the .NET 4.5 installer.

Thanks!

Kipper -> RE: Performance (9/29/2013 8:46:03 PM)

Testing....

UPDATE: Map performance issues with zoom/scroll have been fixed.

Well done.

bgeery -> RE: Performance (9/29/2013 9:57:26 PM)

When you run the .NET 4.5 installer under Win8, it will abort out saying 4.5 is already part of the OS.

Banquet -> RE: Performance (9/29/2013 10:00:57 PM)

I ran NET 4.5 but can't get the application file to run. Probably doing something wrong

edit, working now - zoom and pan was workable if a little slugglish before... much much better now. Zoom to cursor is fantastic

jubriqueno -> RE: Performance (9/29/2013 10:03:48 PM)

Ok, good job ....1:1 almost perfect, zoom perfect, pan view still slow....

nico71 -> RE: Performance (9/29/2013 10:59:55 PM)

Much better now! But I didn't test larger scenarios, yet.

MorningDew -> RE: Performance (9/29/2013 11:31:45 PM)

Anyone else periodically get a freeze like this? Anything I can provide the devs to help them find the cause?
