[NOT ENOUGH INFORMATION]

Some more requests...these are all aircraft that will not enter service for at least a few years, so some of the information is pretty sketchy. However, I hope there is enough here that "guesstimate" versions (as we have for things like the X-47 and the J-31) can be added to the database. Thanks for considering these!

Did she have different characteristics from the other ships of the Iwo Jima class? (which is in the database)

mikmykWS -> RE: Thread for DB3000 database problems, updates or issues (4/21/2014 12:09:00 AM)

Yeah you would use the Iwo Jima class (there are several variants based on year) and then rename it to USS Guadalcanal.

At this point the only time ships get independent entries is if there are major delta's from the rest of their class.

Thanks!

Some more information for the Cessna 208 Caravan...

Lots of details. In fact, similar information and technical details are available here for all of Cessna's current models (including citation business jets)...

Mgellis -> RE: Thread for DB3000 database problems, updates or issues (4/22/2014 4:59:27 PM)

Here is another "please add when possible" request...This one is still in service, believe it or not...

Antonov An-2
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antonov_An-2
http://www.an2flyers.org/
http://www.sibwings.com/an2/manual.pdf <-- written for a flight simulator, but LOTS of technical details which I assume are accurate

(Actually, it is already in the CWDB, so I imagine that has all the technical details needed to add it to the DB3000.)

Mgellis -> RE: Thread for DB3000 database problems, updates or issues (4/22/2014 5:18:40 PM)

Just a general observation...the owner's/operator's manuals for a LOT of aircraft are online as .pdf files. These contain a lot of technical data, probably enough to cover what is needed for the DB3000 or the CWDB. Here are a few examples, which I found using Google and key words like "owner's manual," "pdf," and the name of the company in question...

http://www.piper.com/technical-publications/

http://www.beechcraft.com/customer_support/technical_publications/

http://ehfc.net/SenecaIIManual.pdf
http://www.langleyflyingschool.com/PDF%20Documents/Pilot%20Operating%20Handbooks/Seneca%20POH.pdf

I hope this is helpful.

Sorry Mark. We're still somewhere in the middle of your list of items. We have other customers that have asked for stuff as well and you have gotten a number of units will every update. Will get there as soon as we can while being fair to everybody.

Thanks for the links. They will certainly help.

Not a problem. I always assume it may be a while before a particular platform can be reviewed, researched, and added; I just post them as I think of them so I don't forget about them (and if I find any resources for them, I figure it cannot hurt to let folks know about them). Thanks for considering all of these requests.

gunboat class Osprey 55 for Greece, Morocco, Senegal

Land units
#294 SAM Bty Patriot PAC-2/PAC-3
-is selectable for US and Japan only but in RL also Netherlands and Germany have the PAC-3(currently on duty in Turkey as part of NATO Op. Active Fence)
-At least german PAC-3 TEL do only have capacities of 8 PAC-3 per launcher. But in the DB there is no PAC-3 mount available with a capacity of 8.
-The mentioned #294 US Army PAC-3 reads "...2007, 6x Lnchr" but has 8 mounts in total. So it maybe should be corrected to 8 launchers (6x4 PAC-2 = 6 TELs + 2x16 Pac-3 = 2 TELs)

orca -> RE: Thread for DB3000 database problems, updates or issues (4/24/2014 3:41:59 AM)

the radar signatures for aircraft no longer appear in the database viewer on build 517

orca -> RE: Thread for DB3000 database problems, updates or issues (4/24/2014 3:46:15 AM)

The MQ-8C heading on the database viewer says it is cancelled. I was under the impression that these were being ordered by the US navy?

The small diameter bomb GBU-39 will be added to the JAS 39 Gripen in the timefram 2015-2017 according to information in this document from the Swedish armed forces. Can you add that to the database please.

page 15 and yes it's in swedish.

NickD -> RE: Thread for DB3000 database problems, updates or issues (4/25/2014 11:38:02 PM)

As another New Zealand request, could you please add the RNZAF's recently-upgraded P-3K2 Orions into the database?

Details on what the upgrade involved are at: http://www.australiandefence.com.au/C8439F30-F806-11DD-8DFE0050568C22C9 (in short, the addition of an imaging turret, replacing the old radar with the Elta EL/M-2022A (V)3 and various avionics and systems upgrades).

According to http://www.defence.govt.nz/acquisitions-tenders/current-acquisition-projects/p-3-systems-upgrade.html the first of the five upgraded aircraft was delivered in 2011 and the final was delivered in February this year.

slicendice -> RE: Thread for DB3000 database problems, updates or issues (4/26/2014 7:48:08 PM)

This is not really a database issue. I've observed a glitch with radar sensor coverage cone display. Basically when I assign a 135° forward field of regard to a radar, the leftmost slice(bearing 292.5 to 315) is not displayed. This does not seem happen if this slice of coverage is not the first slice in clockwise direction.

It does not seem to affect actual detection.

Lnestig -> RE: Thread for DB3000 database problems, updates or issues (4/27/2014 7:46:10 PM)

Some JAS 39E/F News

JAS 39E/F will have 2 additional weapon pylons under the fuselage, it will be able to cruise at Mach 1,25 without afterburner, it will have an increased internal fuel capability of 2400 lb. and will be equipped with the Selex-ES Brite Cloud expendable active decoy system.

http://aviationweek.com/awin/new-gripen-aims-low-cost-high-capability

Is it possible to upgrade the E/F version in the database to reflect this?
The 2 additional weapon pylons will give the E/F version capability to carry offensive weapons on the 4 wing pylons and 2 Meteor AAM's for self defence under the fuselage.
I hope you can change the E/F loadouts according to this i.e. 2x IRIS-T+6x Meteor in Max intercept mode, 16x GBU39/B+2x IRIS-T+2x Meteor, 4x GBU-12+2x IRIS-T+2x Meteor and so on.

And maybe we will get ALCM's as well :)

Another weapon to add to the swedish JAS39C/D/E/F is GBU-49 that is missing in the loadouts

Plodder -> RE: Thread for DB3000 database problems, updates or issues (4/28/2014 11:05:48 AM)

I posted this a while ago but it must have got lost in the noise and it's still relevant:

Had a look at the NZ entries in the database and noticed a couple of things with the aircraft:
(All quotes from the RNZAF site)

NH90TTH is operated by the Air Force

All the Orions are also operated by the Air Force
quote:

The RNZAF took delivery of five P-3B Orions in 1966 (NZ4201 - NZ4205). In 1985 an ex-RAAF P-3B was purchased (NZ4206). All six Orions were upgraded (avionics and radio systems) under Project RIGEL in the early 1980s. Following the upgrade the designation P-3K was applied to these aircraft. Aircraft that have undergone the current upgrade programme are designated P-3K2.

Where's the Huey? RNZAF has operated the UH-1H since 1970
quote:

The RNZAF currently operates 13 Iroquois helicopters. Five UH-1D (NZ3801- NZ3805) were delivered in 1966. A further nine UH-1H (NZ3806 - NZ3814) were delivered in 1970. A further UH-1H (NZ3815) was delivered in 1976. The UH-1Ds were progressively upgraded to UH-1H standard during the mid 1970s. Two ex-US Army UH-1H attrition airframes were purchased in 1996. One has been brought into service as NZ3816.

Also needs the C-130H
quote:

The RNZAF currently operates five C-130 Hercules. It took delivery of the first three Hercules (NZ7001 - NZ7003) in 1965. These were the first C-130H production models off the Lockheed production line. A further two C-130H, (NZ7004 - NZ7005) were added in 1969. Currently the aircraft are undergoing a modernisation and structural improvement programme to ensure that last until 2015. Upgraded aircraft are designated C-130H (NZ).

Air force also operates 2 Boeing 757-200s
quote:

Two Boeing 757-200 were received in 2003. Starting in 2007 both aircraft were fitted with an upper deck cargo door to facilitate an 11-pallet cargo capability, internal air stairs, upgraded engines and flight deck enhancements including full compliance with current global air navigation specifications and standards.

mikmykWS -> RE: Thread for DB3000 database problems, updates or issues (4/29/2014 12:03:50 AM)
