Well J/F 40 ended on the axis impulse on the roll of a 1. A few other things that happened during the turn, the Russians claimed the Baltic states, and Germany aligned Bulgaria and Hungary.
There were no new partisans this turn.
Here is a quick look at the production.
Germany: Armor HQ, pilot, Ftr -2, militia
Italy: Nav-3, pilot.
Japan: CV 2nd phase, pilot, cvp x2, Amphib, Mech.
China: Inf x2
CW: pilot x2, CV 2nd phase, Ftr-2, Inf, Terr, convoy point x2, Lnd-3
France: Inf, anti-tank, pilot
USA: pilot x2, Naval repair-CV, CV 1st phase, Transport.

The US also choose the option Build Chinese Aircraft. Another chit moved to the tension pool.
Here is the current USE.

Axis goes first in M/A 40, the weather in the N. Temp is snow, but having been delayed by the weather long enough, the Germans declare war on Belgium, they align with the CW, the US gets an entry chit for this.

Here are the 2 attacks declared after movement, no ground strikes were successful.

keith63 -> RE: Keith's Solo AAR (12/5/2013 12:47:29 AM)

Here is the first attack, blizt was chosen, and lucky for the Germans no roll was needed, as they rolled a 3.

Majorball68 -> RE: Keith's Solo AAR (12/5/2013 1:49:55 AM)

Curious to know with your China defense why so many of the Chinese are defending in clear terrain.

keith63 -> RE: Keith's Solo AAR (12/5/2013 2:27:52 AM)

Thanks for pointing that out Major, I do have a few in open terrain but i'm trying to position my line and most of these will be moved into mountains or behind river lines if they aren't already.

keith63 -> RE: Keith's Solo AAR (12/5/2013 2:39:10 AM)

The CW take a naval and move out the bulk of their fleet to cover convoys and to project some naval power in key sea zones. Here is a shot of the global map showing CW convoys and the escorts.

keith63 -> RE: Keith's Solo AAR (12/5/2013 2:45:03 AM)

So here is a good air to air combat. The CW try to strat bomb Germany. They send in one bomber, unescorted, who get blown up.

keith63 -> RE: Keith's Solo AAR (12/5/2013 2:46:58 AM)

And as the CW bomber is going down in flames it decides to take a fighter with it. lol

keith63 -> RE: Keith's Solo AAR (12/5/2013 2:50:54 AM)

And after all that, the game crashed on me, when i restored and did it over, nobody was hurt and the bomber missed the target lol.

keith63 -> RE: Keith's Solo AAR (12/5/2013 2:54:13 AM)

The French try ground striking with 2 artillery pieces, to slow down the Germans, but complete misses with both pieces.

keith63 -> RE: Keith's Solo AAR (12/5/2013 3:00:57 AM)

During the French land movement phase they step into Belgium to try and stop the Germans. The moment of truth is here.

keith63 -> RE: Keith's Solo AAR (12/5/2013 3:07:10 AM)

2nd Axis impulse starts with perfect weather everywhere.

keith63 -> RE: Keith's Solo AAR (12/5/2013 5:30:24 AM)

Germany picks a land move and decides to use an offensive chit to try and blow a hole in the french lines.

keith63 -> RE: Keith's Solo AAR (12/5/2013 2:38:17 PM)

So here is a quick explanation of using an O chit during a land impulse. So i picked the HQ with the highest re-org value, in this case a 4. You double this value and that is how many land units can have their combat values doubled as long as they are with in primary supply range of the chosen HQ, which in this case of the weather being fine is 4 hexes. Now this is all from memory, so if i'm wrong on any of this please feel free to correct me here.

keith63 -> RE: Keith's Solo AAR (12/5/2013 2:48:27 PM)

German bombers escorted by fighters launch ground strikes inside the borders of France. The first battle goes Germany's way.

keith63 -> RE: Keith's Solo AAR (12/5/2013 2:49:32 PM)

In the second air battle France gets some payback on the Germans.

keith63 -> RE: Keith's Solo AAR (12/5/2013 2:52:19 PM)

German Stuka's diving out of the sun wreak havoc on this French stack, disorganizing 2 out of 3 units.

keith63 -> RE: Keith's Solo AAR (12/5/2013 3:10:13 PM)

Here is a shot of the land combats chosen for this impulse. German's tried to fly in a paratrooper but a French fighter aborted it.

keith63 -> RE: Keith's Solo AAR (12/5/2013 3:22:21 PM)

The attack on the French is a resounding success, but its hard not to be when a 19 is rolled.

keith63 -> RE: Keith's Solo AAR (12/5/2013 3:29:13 PM)

This is what the line looks like now. I would appreciate some advice on rearranging the french line. Is it time to abandon the Maginot Line like i believe it is?

keith63 -> RE: Keith's Solo AAR (12/5/2013 3:34:38 PM)

The turn continues. The German's used 2 HQ's to re-org some bombers for the next impulse.
Here is what has died so far this turn.

markb50k -> RE: Keith's Solo AAR (12/5/2013 3:35:15 PM)

in my game, similar circumstance except I got a breakthrough into Lille. And yes, I started pulling back from Maginot. Must defend the capital!

keith63 -> RE: Keith's Solo AAR (12/6/2013 12:22:52 AM)

Here is the French after they have reformed their line. Let's see how long it holds up. And maybe they get lucky and the turn will end.

keith63 -> RE: Keith's Solo AAR (12/6/2013 12:56:10 AM)

Well my prediction came true and the turn ended on a 1. So France lasts another turn and gets more reinforcements to shore up their line, just made the Germans job that much tougher.

brian brian -> RE: Keith's Solo AAR (12/6/2013 1:09:01 AM)

Advice for the French line:

The British need to man up. A one hex BEF accomplishes absolutely nothing.

keith63 -> RE: Keith's Solo AAR (12/6/2013 1:14:07 AM)

Brian, aren't the British limited by foreign troop commitment?

brian brian -> RE: Keith's Solo AAR (12/6/2013 1:27:53 AM)

Yes, they can only add 2 units to France after the Gort HQ. But they can put those 2 units in Lille, and hold the coast with one unit. With a completely independent air force covering them both. Lille is the strongest hex in Flanders. Or hold the coast with Gort + Anti-Tank or AA gun - unlikely the Germans can break that. Even one strong infantry unit in Lille will make the Germans work hard to take it ... again with RAF cover from England, that they'd rather not tangle with if they don't have to. And if the Brits just sit on the Channel coast, they don't.

keith63 -> RE: Keith's Solo AAR (12/6/2013 1:41:04 AM)

OK, thanks a lot for those tips Brian. Much appreciated.
