I clicked the close button for the USSR before I got the screenshot.

The Germans keep their uboats at sea this turn, hoping that France will fall, and they can rebase there.

It looks like the Germans have been using about two units of oil per turn if my memory serves me correctly, without going back into the AAR. I used the two units to reorganize. Since there are four units being saved this turn, and four units already saved, I should have six units saved after the production is finished. This is after the two units are deducted from the reorganization. This will tell me if I am saving the oil correctly for the Germans.

It is the German breakdown phase, and I have five units to use for losses. I am tempted to breakdown a unit to give me seven, but this may be overkill, so I will leave it be.

It was a tough decision between pilots and air units or the HQ unit. I chose to get the high cost HQ unit build out of the way, and hope that the fight in France does not get too costly. Also the added Hq will be needed for the next phase of the war once France falls. I will probably try to see what can be done in the Med. next.

With no infantry units available to help the Nationalist Chinese, they choose an AA unit to give them a little protection from the Japanese bombers, and save one BP for next turn.

I recall the RAF did ot fare so well last tun and decided to build two pilots and fighters.

The Navy of course needs more units as do the merchant fleet. This did not leave much for the army.

The poor French are in a bind. Their units are battered, and their lines are stretched. They build all of the ground units that they can.

The Germans and Japan choose land and Italy combined.

There is a chance to make a breakthrough if the Germans can pull off a successful attack east of Paris. This will cut off almost half of the French army from protecting Paris.

The ahex to the north of Paris will force the BEF to pull back yet again, and bring the German army closer to Paris. If the Breakthrough is successful, the Germans have the opportunity to drive south and east of Paris also.

I thought about possibly using an air offensive here to reduce the reorganization costs, but that would give the French time to close the breakthrough hex.

The two hexes will recieve groundstrikes this phase.

The French realize that they cannot afford to loose the hex or the HQ unit, and send in their entire fighter force.

The Germans are not going to play around either.

Both of the German bombers were cleared through, with one of the French fighters lost. With no other bombers to intercept, the remaining fighters decided to abort, and live to fight another day. The destroyed fighters pilots survived.

The Luftwaffe has been performing very well up until this strike. At least they managed to get one of the units. However this is where the main attack will be.

This attack though equally important as the last, was almost a one sided affair.

Here is the Western Front after the German attacks.

The French are now in a real bind. They will be harrassed by the Italians in the next phase, as they continue to be assaulted by the Germans. The breakthrough is stalled however due to the disruption of the forces involved in the attack. An HQ unit will have to be brought into range as the turn progresses.

The token resistance in Changsa, did not fare any better than the French.

Here is the situation in central China after the attack.

The Japanese have to decide where the offensive will go, once the rails to Canton have been cleared.

France and China land.

Everyone else combined.

The decision to have the CW take a combined was tough. A consideration of a naval choice would mean that the BEF could be evacuated, the ASW units could be deployed, and transports and convoys moved. This would leave a hole in the left flank of the French line that would aid the Germans. The ASW threat will mainly be only on a few sea areas, and the Axis need to take land offenses next impulse to drive on Paris. A combined move will allow the BEF to fall back and maintain the line, whils a handfull of ASW units can be put in place.

The CW sends out a Beaufort and two CL to the Bay of Biscay for ASW duty, and two CL into the Western Med.
