ORIGINAL: Courtenay I don't know why your saved games would disappear. There is a bug in the latest beta. If you save games using the "Save Game" command, it sometime (often) saves the game without a .GAM extension, on some machines. (So far only two people have reported the problem, so it seems that it doesn't happen to all machines.) If this is happening to anyone, you will have your saved game, just in a file that MWiF will not read. Manually (using Windows Explorer) go to the World in Flames/Scenarios/[Scenario Name]/Saved Games and change the untyped file with your saved game in it to a .GAM file. If you are paranoid (and dealing with computers one should be), rename your original saved game first. The "Save Game As" command seems to always work; at least I have not yet had a problem with it. However, this does not seem to be what hit warspite. Warspite, have you tried going to your \:C directory and doing a search for the name of one your saved games? That might turn up something. If all else fails, check your recycle bin. warspite1 I should not try and do an AAR when tired.... [&:] I flew two German bombers to Amsterdam for Ground Striking purposes - in the Strategic Bombardment phase..... Yep, I really did that [8|]. I thought I would quickly get out of the game without saving and go back to the most appropriate autosave. I got a message to say that the game could not save at that juncture. However, because I did not need it to save I proceeded anyway. When doing so it wiped ALL my Global War saved games and ALL autosaves too!!! Fortunately I am early enough into the game not to be beaten by this and am re-constructing the game as best I can from scratch. I will begin posting again once I get back to Nov/Dec 1939 and the attack on the Netherlands. There may be one or two differences - unit picks and US Entry, but nothing too problematic.
