It is barely above Panzer Korp in depth. If BA isn't "lite", I don't know what is.
Cmon BA is miles above Panzer Korp. My 8 year old nephew can play Panzer Corp easily. Panzer Korp is a linear A & B game at most. Just move your piece next to another piece and check the odds target ring system and fire away. At least BA has one thinking is this a good move or not. Should I fire at this counter group or that one. When I play Panzer Korps all I wonder about is which unit should I use first, second, third so that I have a unit to move into the victory hex. Doesn't take rocket science to figure it out either.
I like more of the random sighting effects of BA. You just never know what is going to come out of where sometimes. PK is so predictable after a playthru. No longevity. Least I have mods for BA that allow me to play random skirmishes much like Steel Panthers but doesn't have all the factions that I wished it did.
If they ever make a BA with all the factions and all the units an equipment like in Steel Panthers I'd surely buy that before I'd ever think of buying PK. Plus, the AI in BA is much better than the one in PK. I won the scenario's so easily in PK I didn't want to continue playing it like I do BA and now HELL, which is another great BA engine game now.
