I opened up the inventory to see what kind of carnage was unleashed at Pearl and here's what I saw:

Here's a close up on the Manila situation. I miss being able to move the American boats.

Okie dokie..........here's T2's look at south China. I can finally move most of the Chinese and I'm going to move up to contact
and make 3-dot stands there. The proficiency is in the 20's and 30's and so I don't plan on attacking with them. Actually, I
am wondering if they can form and stand in a front line of sorts. The terrain isn't very forgiving and the supply level is low so
I'm not planning on a lot of combat operations anytime soon.

Here's how the air war is going right now. I'm seeing scarce resources to draw upon here. There's only the British aircraft
in the Rangoon area and the Chinese Gladiators ( biplanes ) and the AVG which I need to move to better positions soon.
Thomas has landed paratroops next to the Port of Singapore and that spells disaster for the British and Australians.

Here's the Singapore situation now. I've got an Indian division at Kota Bhura that I'm not real sure what the best thing for it to
do now. I can divide it and drive south. I can try to move north to become a road block. I can move toward Singapore with it
to dislodge one of the paratroops, maybe both. But what good would that do in the long run. I'm going to try to re-establish
some flow of supply to it first of all.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Playtest of Pacific at War 3 25 14 (1/22/2015 4:36:23 PM)

Here's the face of Bangkok now. I notice a build up in IndoChina that could threaten my coastal road / supply situation near
Rangoon. I'm going to have to get some people there pretty quickly now. Maybe sail some from the West into Rangoon?

larryfulkerson -> RE: Playtest of Pacific at War 3 25 14 (1/22/2015 4:43:49 PM)

I moved some Hurricanes and Spitfires to Sumatra near Singapore to try to mitigate the Jap airpower there. I don't know what good
it will do but it seemed the right thing to do. I'm looking around for some bombers to fly into Java for some CS missions.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Playtest of Pacific at War 3 25 14 (1/22/2015 6:44:26 PM)

Thomas captured Wake island in T2 and I wondered what happened to the Wildcats there and I found them at Midway.
All 12 of them are present but they are in reorg. Also at Midway is a spotter plane unit and some Marines. I'm going to
have to ship more people to Midway sometime soon.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Playtest of Pacific at War 3 25 14 (1/22/2015 6:50:39 PM)

This is the face of Guam now. The Japs captured it in T2 and now the Marines are trapped there and will have to surrender.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Playtest of Pacific at War 3 25 14 (1/23/2015 2:58:16 AM)

Here's the T3 face of Manila. The Japs captured Manila so now all the Allied units are out of supply. The mop-up phase has
begun.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Playtest of Pacific at War 3 25 14 (1/23/2015 3:04:34 AM)

In this image you can see the extent of the Jap advance. Thomas is moving in this AO and grabbing ports and airfields. He's moved
a substantial amount of aircraft into this AO and that makes it hard to defend anything and or take anything back.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Playtest of Pacific at War 3 25 14 (1/23/2015 3:07:04 AM)

Here's the T3 face of south China. I'm forming a sort of front line and it's being moved back slowly in places but for the most
part it's stable.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Playtest of Pacific at War 3 25 14 (1/23/2015 3:20:50 AM)

Here's the north China situation now. I seem to remember a rule from some WITP scenario that the Communist Chinese
shouldn't mingle with the regular Chinese units. As some kind of house rule. To reflect the politics of the era.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Playtest of Pacific at War 3 25 14 (1/23/2015 3:35:08 AM)

This is the current Singapore situation. The Japs have cut off supply to northern Malaya and are moving south to relieve the
Jap paratroopers. Japs have done a naval bombardment of the port and destroyed the CD guns there and they've moved a
boat-load of aircraft into the AO. My dudes are mostly in garrison mode or reorg or something and any Allied remedy will have
to wait until next turn.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Playtest of Pacific at War 3 25 14 (1/23/2015 3:50:38 AM)

Have I shown you guys this situation before now? Most of the non-Chinese Allied units in this image are in reorg or
garrison mode I don't know which and can't be moved etc. This is highly inconvient. One wonders if this is going to
continue for the rest of the game.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Playtest of Pacific at War 3 25 14 (1/23/2015 3:58:39 AM)

Okay. I've narrowed it down to them being in reorg. ANZAC is in reorg? That's really strange. Did we find a bug here or is it
that the effects of the negative boost for the previous two turns hasn't dissappated yet. In other words, they have been in
reorg since turn 1 or so.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Playtest of Pacific at War 3 25 14 (1/23/2015 4:13:42 AM)

Here's the Pearl Harbor situation. Most of the ships are released from reorg but a lot of the planes and land units are still in
reorg. And can't be moved.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Playtest of Pacific at War 3 25 14 (1/23/2015 4:22:24 AM)

I moved the 2nd Marine Engineers to Midway, mostly because they were the only thing ready to move. And Midway
needed reinforcements. Probably still does. I don't feel a particular need to move the ships yet. The CV's are
still in reorg and can't be moved so I'm holding my breath until I can sail them to a properly safe spot.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Playtest of Pacific at War 3 25 14 (1/23/2015 4:36:31 AM)

Here's the location and condition of the Allied American CV's. They are still in reorg, ships and planes, and aren't in the safest places
on the map. Sitting ducks. I'm wondering if they are visible to the Japs.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Playtest of Pacific at War 3 25 14 (1/23/2015 5:01:17 AM)

An American fighter group has finally reached Port Moresby. I expect Thomas to move a bunch of aircraft to the Rabaul
area including fighters and bombers and I'm going to need some defenses against that pretty quick now.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Playtest of Pacific at War 3 25 14 (1/23/2015 5:04:58 AM)

I moved a small B-17 group from Pearl all the way to Noumea. It's on it's way to China if I can get it there
somehow. Either that or northern Australia.

The reorganization for the allies is probably the best defense mechanism possible. It keeps them alive. If they could move the allied player might make the mistake of sending them into harms way. As the allies it is best to hide out in the early turns. If significant losses are avoided for the first 6 months, maybe then try to take something back. Otherwise just dig in on all fronts and make the Japanese push you back. Burn up the time. On the third turn all shock is removed.

As the Japanese player, speed is everything. Take as much as possible as fast as possible without risking carriers or battleships.

Both sides should focus on source of supply to units. Try to cut off the enemy and try to keep yours secure.

That's really what I had planned. Wow this Thomas is spooky.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Playtest of Pacific at War 3 25 14 (1/23/2015 11:30:31 AM)

Here's the T4 face of the Manila area now. Notice that the Allied stuff is in reorg still.

Here's south China now. There's a lot of Chinese units still in reorg. That's hampering my defense. Highly inconvienent.
The Japs are pushing and shoving and lots of fighting is going on.

Here's northern China now. The situation is confused. Lots of units going hither and thither.

Here's what Burma looks like now. Reorg is still a bug-a-boo and there's not a lot I can do with the situation. So far
so good.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Playtest of Pacific at War 3 25 14 (1/23/2015 12:10:00 PM)

Here's the face of Port Moresby. This is the best defense I can mount right now. B-17's are headed to northern Aus.
to provide some CS and maybe fly some light strikes on Jap airfields if I can get the fighters to fly escort.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Playtest of Pacific at War 3 25 14 (1/23/2015 12:15:29 PM)

The 1st Aus Air Group is one of the air units at :PM and it's got the unusual situation where the bombers don't have the range
that the fighters have. So I changed the range that the unit will fly to the range of the bombers so it'll always be escorted
by the fighters. Cool feature.
