The 488th NZ air group is another unit at PM and I was startled to find Buffalo's that are carrier capable. I didn't know
Buffalo's could do that. I learn something new every day.

Here's Pearl Harbor now. I'm posting this to show the extent of the spread of the reorg virus from land units to ships as well.

I'm going through the OOB moving all the units in T4 and I've come upon the HQ group for Gen. MacArthur. I notice
that there's no Command group in the equipment list so I'm taking that to mean that the general himself has already
gotten out of the Phillippines. Probably by PT boat to Mindano and thence by B-17. Or something.

I was moving a DD from Rangoon to Ceylon preperatory to going to Australia when the Japs intercepted my ship. I shot down 1 of
the 6 Sally's that attacked. I see that there are also some Sonia's in the attack group and some fighters. None of which are
particularly good at attacking ships. I decide that it's okay to continue to Ceylon.

The 18th Fighter group at Port Moresby is one of the better squadrons with a proficiency of 75 when the usual profficiency of a
typical American fighter group is in the mid-60's. I'm going to keep an eye on the proficiency level of my squadrons so that I can
keep the most proficient one on the front lines.

Here's the best squadron I will have until about July of '42. Sometime around then the AVG will disband and then I'll have to
play it by ear. I have the AVG in China right now because they are the only effective fighters in China. The only other fighter
unit in China is a Chinese Gladdiator group, some biplanes. The British have some Hurricanes and Spitfires but they are in
Burma and near Singapore.

So I received some new moves from Tom and watched the replay......I always watch the replay. I get some good gameplay tips
from watching his moves. Anyway, Singapore finally fell. Now what? India? Australia? Enquiring minds want to know.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Playtest of Pacific at War 3 25 14 (1/23/2015 4:30:20 PM)

Here's a birds-eye view of the theater. Singapore fell, there's evidence that the Japs are coming across the river into Burma, and
the fighting is still going on in the Phillippine islands. South China is a hot spot and the northern Chinese troops are slowly being
rounded up and destroyed.

Here's a close-up of the PI. Most of the Allied stuff is STILL in reorg. Kinda makes you wonder.

Here's a close-up of south China. Most of the Chinese troops are still in reorg too. But this could be a result of combat. I'm guessing.

Or "something". Of course, it could also mean that he has been captured...or been rendered hours d' combat...

Chattez -> RE: Playtest of Pacific at War 3 25 14 (1/23/2015 5:54:49 PM)

The Philippine units ought to be able to disappear, and then reappear as guerillas in about six months.
Maybe the allied player can disband them, and then have them converted.

Hey Chattez dude: that would be pretty cool. I could use some more partisans etc. But as I understand it
the Dutch and Phillippine troops don't respawn after they are killed. Thomas can correct me.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Playtest of Pacific at War 3 25 14 (1/23/2015 11:13:04 PM)

New turn, new moves. This is Burma now. My main concern is that stack of Jap stuff near Rangoon that is threatening to come
across the river and get into my rear areas. The bridge is blown but that won't stop them from continuing across the broken
bridge. The situation doesn't look all that stable.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Playtest of Pacific at War 3 25 14 (1/23/2015 11:37:10 PM)

The Japs are coming south across the Stanley Owen mountains toward Port Moresby. A lot of the equipment at PM is still in reorg
and is worse than useless to me. Well, I guess they CAN defend. But I really needed that airpower that is grounded.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Playtest of Pacific at War 3 25 14 (1/23/2015 11:44:49 PM)

All three of the American CV's are STILL in reorg. The Enterprise is in the upper right corner of the map and the Lexington
and Yorktown are in the bottom right corner. And I still can't move them. I'm starting to wonder.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Playtest of Pacific at War 3 25 14 (1/24/2015 12:33:15 AM)

I could be wrong but I think maybe I've found a bug. I got to wondering why all the Allied stuff is in reorg all the time and took a look
at the events because using events is the way to change the shock level. So I found events where the Jap shock level is boosted
to 200 on turn 1 and then on turn 2 it's brought down to 125 where it stays for the rest of the game. And there's events for giving
the Allied shock the value 1 on turn 1 and then on turn 3 there's a new item about the shock level going up and then I found an
event making the Allied shock level 50 where it stays for the rest of the game.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Playtest of Pacific at War 3 25 14 (1/24/2015 5:45:58 AM)

Okay......here's the situation. Tom agreed that it was a bug and fixed it and put some supply at Makin and called it a new
version. So we're starting over from turn 1. I've received moves from Thomas and watched the replay etc. One of the
really good moves made was Jap paratroopers landing just north of Singapore and digging in....cutting off supply to the
rest of the peninsula. Cool move. I can't reply because everything is in reorg. D'oh.

Here's the T2 situation at Manila. The Japs captured the capital. Now starts the mop-up operations.

Here's south China now. My boys are being pushed backward and they are trying to maintain a front line.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Playtest of Pacific at War 3 25 14 (1/24/2015 5:00:40 PM)

New turn, new moves from Tom. Here's the Manila situation now. Thomas is expanding away from the coast and there's not a
whole lot I can do to fight back. I've already evacuated the aircraft, fighters to China and bombers to Australia. I was going to
try to get the South Pacific HQ unit to OZ but it's not looking like it's going to be possible.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Playtest of Pacific at War 3 25 14 (1/24/2015 5:11:37 PM)

There's a Chinese aircraft unit, a fighter unit, that's protecting the Ledo road and I thought you might like to know what
kind of performance I'm getting from that unit. They aren't particularly good fighters so I'm using them off and on for CS
missions.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Playtest of Pacific at War 3 25 14 (1/24/2015 5:20:35 PM)

Here's Singapore now. The Japs have already assaulted the hex once and didn't get anywhere. A second assault might just finish
the job off.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Playtest of Pacific at War 3 25 14 (1/24/2015 5:25:47 PM)

This is what the Rangoon area looks like. I'm seeing some Japs on the river entering Burma and I just happened to have some
troops handy for it.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Playtest of Pacific at War 3 25 14 (1/24/2015 11:55:56 PM)

Here's the same area in T4. As I suspected the Japs were traveling enmass and I just happened to catch them on the river ready to
step on Burma soil.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Playtest of Pacific at War 3 25 14 (1/25/2015 12:19:38 AM)

Here's the Port Moresby area now. I'm watching for Japs coming south across the mountains like he did last time.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Playtest of Pacific at War 3 25 14 (1/25/2015 2:01:56 AM)

New turn new moves. Here's the 81st Phillippine Inf Division parked at Bataan and it's down to it's very last squad. I'm sorry for it
and wish I could just disband it. Oh well.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Playtest of Pacific at War 3 25 14 (1/25/2015 2:08:43 AM)

Here's south China now. I've gotten some partisans into Hanoi and wrecked the rail. Now I don't know whether to head north or
south with the partisans. I'll think about it some more.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Playtest of Pacific at War 3 25 14 (1/25/2015 2:29:20 AM)

This is what northern China looks like now. I've beat up the rails just about, well, needs more work actually. But there's so many
Japs in the AO that the Communist Chinese troops here have their hands full. I need especially to go after the bridges somehow.
Thomas knows that and has posted guards at a lot of the crossings. D'oh. I'm wondering if I ought to just evacuate the northern
part of China and move everybody south. But on the other hand the Chinese troops here are tying up a lot of the Japs best troops.

I think maybe I'll try to get them moving south somehow.
