By all means get all the islands you can, now; because you won't be able to do it later. And, you might run a scouting ship along the coast of OZ, to see what kind of garrisons are there. It is just possible that the allies have left a port with only a weak garrison, that you can grab up in one turn. Also, see how strongly/weakly the western Australian port are held--Darwin and points south. You may not be able to do much until you have major air cover from the Dutch East Indies; but stabs at Australia will force the allies to react. They won't (hopefully) be busy elsewhere, if they have to concentrate around New Zealand and Australia.
