Obviously this a troll an imposter...the real Cap Mandrake couldn't make this claim.[:)]

Well, I HAVE read parts of the outline. [:)]

You could make one Hell of an amusement ride out of that. Call it the Sinaloa Slingshot. Strap 5 or 6 people in and give one guy a chainsaw to cut the rope.

Listening to the History of WWII Podcast by Ray Harris Jr. It's very good. He's an amateur who started doing a podcast on his own when he had a work setback at the start of the pandemic.

He's up to episode 300 or something like that. The LYB's have invaded Burma and aren't yet to Mandalay. Just listened to a very good episode on the Australian commando operation on Timor. I found it on Overcast. It's free but he takes donations.

Homeowner watching the tree trimming boys from Oaxaca: Yes? State Farm? How soon can I get a policy that covers everything?...Yes, that's it! Umbrella policy..I'LL TAKE IT!...No, cost doesn't matter. Give me the biggest one you got..AND MAKE IT FAST! AYYYYY..MADRE DE DIOS!

So we have just learned (because it ISN'T in the manual) that Sydney should work so we don't have to send a worthless S-boat all the way back to SF so that it can be cut in half and turned into a diner

You can thank Don Bowen for those additional details not provided in the manual. Seems that coders jealously safeguard the fine print from manual writers.

Sumatra: Sabang gets plasterized by heavy bombers and the Aussies retreating from Padang are moving NE, eating snakes and cocconuts.

Cap Mandrake -> RE: At dawn we slept.....in the cab on the way back from Olongapo (10/2/2020 1:18:24 AM)

Air losses in our favor

Cap Mandrake -> RE: At dawn we slept.....in the cab on the way back from Olongapo (10/2/2020 1:21:00 AM)

The RAF should not really be using Mohawk IV's at frontline bases but Mr. Churchill is very stingy.

Cap Mandrake -> RE: At dawn we slept.....in the cab on the way back from Olongapo (10/2/2020 1:27:36 AM)

We are supposed to get 36 Hurri IIc a month but I swear somebody is pillaging the damn things along the way.

They deign to send us 12 Spitfire Vc a month in September. I have RAF fighter squadrons flying crappy Mohawks and even training in Lysanders.

Cap Mandrake -> RE: At dawn we slept.....in the cab on the way back from Olongapo (10/2/2020 1:32:51 AM)

USAAF is getting 65 P-40K and 20 P-38G a month. They have a lot of empty squadrons on the WC as well.

July is the bonanza for USAAF with 200+ P-40N1/N5/P-39N1 and the P-47

Cap Mandrake -> RE: At dawn we slept.....in the cab on the way back from Olongapo (10/2/2020 1:43:20 AM)

Cool picture of Hurricane IIc Trop

Angle of attack seems high at cruising speed.

Easy to overlook the Lysanders have a camera. That makes units equipped with a Lysander quite useful when used to do short range recon.

That plateau in the background appears to be the ruins of Masada - where the Jewish Essene Sect held out for a very long time against a Roman siege. The Romans had to build a dirt ramp to the top of the plateau to assault it. Rather than be taken as slaves, every one of the Essenes committed suicide.
The Israeli army still takes its recruits there to swear their allegiance to Israel.

It is located on the western side of the Dead Sea, about half way down.
Sodom and Gomorrah were at the south end of the Dead Sea. Qumran, where the Dead Sea scrolls were found is just north of Masada.

RangerJoe -> RE: At dawn we slept.....in the cab on the way back from Olongapo (10/2/2020 10:53:45 AM)

Not Essenes, the Sicariis.

Two women and five children did survive:

After finally rounding up all the remnants from 2nd Marine Div...they are sitting at Rabaul having steaks and Schlitz and they refuse to combine? Same combat mode. The units have supplies but the base is in the red because the staff sent 145K Allied troops there. What gives?

Ditto 9th Aus Div

RangerJoe -> RE: At dawn we slept.....in the cab on the way back from Olongapo (10/2/2020 11:28:00 AM)

Have any parts been upgraded but not the others?

Yes,, thought of that. All 3 regiments have 43 rifle squads. U think that means they are all uniform.

RangerJoe -> RE: At dawn we slept.....in the cab on the way back from Olongapo (10/2/2020 12:24:49 PM)

What about the other devices?

Cap Mandrake -> RE: At dawn we slept.....in the cab on the way back from Olongapo (10/2/2020 2:21:52 PM)

It's the AT guns. One regiment has the 57's

[image]local://upfiles/7983/B0A0B559DC5C4E2E83219F35FF5B18B1.jpg[/image]

Cap Mandrake -> RE: At dawn we slept.....in the cab on the way back from Olongapo (10/2/2020 2:26:45 PM)

The pool of 57mm AT guns is depleted. That could take 2 months if other units don't get to them first.

[image]local://upfiles/7983/CCF0E70DBD3C4B86BF8BCDFDE26D7E6A.jpg[/image]

Cap Mandrake -> RE: At dawn we slept.....in the cab on the way back from Olongapo (10/2/2020 2:34:30 PM)

Confirmed. US Army units also upgrade to 57 mm. About half already. I had to turn off upgrades on about half the regiments planning for Guam.

Cap Mandrake -> RE: At dawn we slept.....in the cab on the way back from Olongapo (10/2/2020 2:36:17 PM)

I had the same problem with a PA division. Now I see it was one regiment with 3 inch mortars and the others not. [:-]

Broody compricated.

Cap Mandrake -> RE: At dawn we slept.....in the cab on the way back from Olongapo (10/2/2020 2:44:34 PM)

One brigade of 9th Aus only has 500 men and missing most of heavy weapon categories. I can't remember if they were crushed in the fighting in Oz or they came into the game that way.
