The Aus brigade probably got crushed by fighting.

I would stockpile those 57mms just in case.

Pretend I don't know what "stockpile" means in the game sense. [;)] I see the toggle switch but what does it actually do?

Alfred -> RE: At dawn we slept.....in the cab on the way back from Olongapo (10/2/2020 5:22:22 PM)

Stockpiled devices in the pool are not distributed to any unit.

If Division A is short of devices x, y, z and there are beaucoup of x, y, and z in the pools but device z is set to stockpile in the pools, Division A will only receive devices x and y if it's replacements toggle has been turned on.

Or to put into simpler terms, Milo has seen the colour green and has decided to supply x and y on credit but is still haggling over the price of z, so no sale of z until the contract has been drawn up by Cheathem et al.

OHHHHHHHHHHHH I get it. It is a simple matter of aligning incentives. Perhaps some Credit Default Swaps would help? Maybe some Ronson futures contracts sold to the antitank gunners?

One brigade of 9th Aus only has 500 men and missing most of heavy weapon categories. I can't remember if they were crushed in the fighting in Oz or they came into the game that way.

9th Aus Div is the last of the Aus Div's to arrive from North Africa. Arriving in Aden in the regular scn's. IIRC its also the best of the Aussie "North African" Div's quality wise and it arrives pretty full. So i suspect the first of the two options is correct.

Yes, you need a requisition or you can't have it. The job is not done until the paperwork is finished. Whether or not the paper comes from Georgia Pacific or Charmin, the job is not done until the paperwork is finished.

Busy and time poor CEOs only read the 1 page Executive Summary which is always found on page 1 of a 329 page report. Middle management is employed specifically to read the other 328 pages.

Cap Mandrake -> RE: At dawn we slept.....in the cab on the way back from Olongapo (10/4/2020 6:06:47 PM)

Some really funny observations. I sense some resentment of management here. [:D]

Cap Mandrake -> RE: At dawn we slept.....in the cab on the way back from Olongapo (10/4/2020 6:12:50 PM)

Hypothetical situation:

Suppose a commander wishes to initiate an amphibious landing during the night, in the fashion of the LYB's in the 1942(a) DEI campaign. Does one have to be at the landing hex BEFORE the night execution starts or before it ENDS?

If the latter, how far would you stand off with a 12 Kt AP convoy to achieve that?

Cap Mandrake -> RE: At dawn we slept.....in the cab on the way back from Olongapo (10/4/2020 6:13:12 PM)

I'm asking for a friend.

Cap Mandrake -> RE: At dawn we slept.....in the cab on the way back from Olongapo (10/4/2020 6:17:42 PM)

Turns out the neighbors DID buy Mistah Chang's place for 6 million pictures of a dead President.

I was mistaken. The original asking price was $8.2M, which was unrealistic and perhaps cleverly designed to flush out a "bargain hunter"

The new neighbors sent gift baskets around to apologize for the remodeling.[:D] Nice gift baskets. I already started in on it.

**************************May 9, 1943(e)********************

Sumatra: I landed some 100 Aussie Pioneers from USS Nautilus at Bengkalis on the NE coast of Sumatra. The base was unoccupied so there was no attack on day 1 and the base remained in Jap hands. They were spotted of course. On day 2 I order an attack to take the place. The Aussies apparently got to "go first" (walked unopposed into town) and then were shock-attacked by about 800 men of 1st Raiding Regt. Both sides shot each other up pretty good but the advantage went to the Aussies and they held the town. This is gradually using up their para units. It's tremendous fun.

Anyway, they are angered and smash the place with bombers on the 9th. This takes the pressure off Batoe and Sinabang

Evidentarry, EVERY SINGLE Pioneer was eliminated by the air raid because when the IJA drops more paras there is nobody left and the town falls.

Bring in some AAA to Bataan.

You can either have the amphibious TF stop one hex away or in the same hex as the target but "Do Not Unload" on set. Then let them unload.

Be ready to invade Bataan or even send a unit to Clark from Bataan at the same time his start to move. Set them on "Reserve" mode so they will move relatively fast but not be involved in combat.
