Some RAF dive bombers were moved up to Langsa in case there were cripples from the night battle. Nice plan except for the part of not hitting the cripple.

quote:

Morning Air attack on TF, near Langsa at 46,72

Estimated time to target is 7 minutes

Allied aircraft

Japanese Ships
CA Mogami, heavy damage

Cap Mandrake -> RE: At dawn we slept.....in the cab on the way back from Olongapo (7/18/2021 6:00:48 PM)

This is short range. Evidently, the Vengeance does not carry heavier bomb loads.

Cap Mandrake -> RE: At dawn we slept.....in the cab on the way back from Olongapo (7/18/2021 6:02:08 PM)

Mogami and two DD's are claimed sunk. Based on daytime recon because it looks like the smaller group with Mogami is gone.

That is all but they definitely have the numbers to make up for it - especially against lightly armoured targets and one that already have had damage - especially float damage.

Cap Mandrake -> RE: At dawn we slept.....in the cab on the way back from Olongapo (7/18/2021 6:13:53 PM)

We spotted a Jap troop convoy headed through the Sulawese/Borneo gap (Makassar Strait). They are headed South perhaps to retake Bima or evacuate Makassar or Balikpapan

The contractor talked me into a "shower seat" (raised tiled seat at back of the shower). It's all the rage, you see. That way I can shave my legs without tearing my hamstrings.

Anyway, the tile guy was good and the fancy large Ukrainian tiles look good..but there is just one problem. I will try to post a picture.

We don't need pictures of you shaving your legs. Just use Nair.

...the image is confusing because someone moved a mirror into the shower space but see if you can spot the problem. It's a steric hinderance issue.

Cap Mandrake -> RE: At dawn we slept.....in the cab on the way back from Olongapo (7/18/2021 8:01:59 PM)

OK, here is the problem. We are upgrading to an actual porcelain terlet (as Archie Bunker would say). When you install the terlet there will not be enough room for a hinged shower door..or it has to be under about 17 in wide..which might work if you are a pre-body-shaming-non-plus-size Victoria Secret model.

Cap Mandrake -> RE: At dawn we slept.....in the cab on the way back from Olongapo (7/18/2021 8:07:58 PM)

I can't believe how much these guys rely on the subs. The counter guys come down from LA with a big truck and big portable saws and drills...they set up outside and then they come inside and realize they don't have an even surface under the cabinets.

It's not like I didn't warn the contractor supervisor sever days beforehand as it occurred to me it would be a problem too. They had to repack everything and come back another day. It's like Curley from the 3 Stooges is in charge.

Why even have a terlet where you have the shower if you have enough space otherwise? Unless you have to clean yourself in the shower after using the terlet . . . [X(]

Did you let the counter guys know about this? I am sure that they would have liked to know this right away.

I thought for a moment that you were going for some sort of shower/toilet fusion. Equal parts visionary and unsanitary.

Well, it used to be a tub/shower with a sliding door. It would have worked without the stupid seat. They are putting in custom accordion glass doors with an extra hinge. That might actually look good.

They just demo'ed my last bathroom only to find the drain lines run OUTSIDE the wall and can't be buried in the wall. This means the planned freestanding vanity won't work. [:@]

This is the point of hiring a professional. They are supposed to know these things.

Cap Mandrake -> RE: At dawn we slept.....in the cab on the way back from Olongapo (7/24/2021 7:21:40 PM)

Was making newborn rounds this week. Monday I had SEVENTEEN babies to see. [X(][X(]

I think all the women under 40 ran out of Netflix things to watch 9 months ago. Even the non-Hispanic women are having babies. It's crazy. A mini baby boom. In 2026 they are going to have 75 kids in every kindergarten class

Cap Mandrake -> RE: At dawn we slept.....in the cab on the way back from Olongapo (7/24/2021 7:43:40 PM)

The contractors are afraid of me now. The take a while to answer my texts, but they were suffering from the misapprehension that Stalker Girl was an angelic figure because she told them she worked in a burn unit and how she took care of a badly burned firefighter for 3 months. I'm the one writing the big ass checks and they are following her around like puppies. Anyway, she is seriously pissed because we have to walk down 3 flight of stairs to take a leak in the middle of the night and the painters flaked out and the floor guy had to go back to Mexico to help his abuela and yada, yada, yada and all sorts of sob stories and SG keeps taking it out on me as a proxy but THIS time I'm at work and she calls me because the electricians have questions....and then Dor, the "foreman" who can't remember 3 things at once comes in to meet with the county inspector and I hear.......

"Are you Dor?

"Yes"

"What the f*** is up with the floors? The plumbers can't work because the floors aren't done and I have to walk down 3 flights of stairs in the middle of the night and..."

[:D][:D][:D]

The guy is just getting a new orifice. So much for the angelic misapprehension

Damnit, these guys were unspotted. Looks like an effort to retake Bima. Damned effective bombardment. Nawlins', Wichita, two CL's and 3 DD were headed to Bima but some staff clown had them set to refuel so they topped off at Koepang and wasted 400 op points so they miss the rendezvous

LYB's bring in a bunch of hotshot Gorgeous Georges which are too much for the newbie replacement F6F pilots. Also some of the F6F's are flying LRCAP from Flores so the numbers are misleading.

Sure it will. Just design a retro-look with the pipes outside the wall.

M&M Creative Architectural can probably help with that.
