Derby: JJ had previously had taken Broome with Yokusuka 4th SNLF. We tried for a while to shut down the airfield with B-17's from Darwin and then the 17's were needed on N&IC. About a week ago, JJ started marching East on Derby and, humorously, Broome flipped back to Australian control the second they left. Today, they crossed the saltie-infested river and attacked Derby and just completely crushed 251st Recce Bn. Another unit began landing today but would not have participated in the attack.

This was a disappointing performance by 251 Recce

They say it’s acceptable to mop up gravy with a piece of bread but then they say, it has to be "your plate" & you have to "have clothes on".

I'm shocked! If I didn't know any better I would have to assume Mr. Minderbinder is involved in some kind of war profiteering.

He's probably fixing to sell the empty portrait space on the left for sponsorship!

Going tomorrow evening to the IMAX. Reviews from others (about the experience, not the movie plot) are glowing!
Did you get any ideas for strategy or upgrades from the movie?

Cap Mandrake -> The League of Extraordinary Misandrists (1/2/2016 8:33:58 PM)

So SG is trying to talk me into this New Year's Eve Party instead of going to see Phil Shane,
the 5ft 4 guy with a rug singing Elvis and Neil Diamond and Tom Jones songs....

FAM: Who's going?

SG: Pocahantas Girl.....blah, blah, blah....(all divorced women who have less than flattering things to say about their Ex's)

FAM: That sounds like the League of Extraordinary Misandrists..

SG: What does that mean?

FAM: Manhaters.

SG: You are so judgemental

FAM: So was Jehova. Look at all the trouble from the golden cow thing. Are there any guys going?

SG: <makes a phone call> Yes some of the girls are bringing boyfriends.

FAM: Alright, but if I hear one XX chromosome rant I am leaving.

So we get there about 8....waaaaay too early for a New Year's Eve party if you ask me. I'm the only guy so far so they put me to work trying to find Karaoke on the cable box. After about 5 minutes of scrolling around a good joke occurs to me. It's Cox Cable. Hehe.

So I go into the kitchen..

FAM: Anyone good with Cox?

Gathered Hens: <1.5 second delay> ME...ME.ME...ME Hahahahahah. The hardest part is finding one first. AHAHAHAHAH. <I have to leave the room because it just gets worse>

Finally someone shows up with a good sound system and two guys and dangerous amounts of alcohol are disappearing. Music is good and I have had enough to drink so that I am deluded into thinking I can dance. Two straight guys (0ne of them me) and a gay guy pretending to be
straight and about 10 women....so the women are just attacking us. I have to admit it was pretty damn fun. Way better than Phil Shane.

So I'm practicing my salsa moves until suddenly about 11:30 I feel like I have been hit by 100mg of Ketamine from a dart gun. I stumble out to the patio and lie down on like a White Rhino on some animal show. Same thing happens to SG and they herd her into a warm bed but th4ey leave me out there. This is foreshadowing.

I swear somebody spiked something because both us went from 70% to 250% in about 2 minutes. I am out there on the patio for about 2 hrs shivering but still mostly awake but with severe vertigo. It's about 35 F so pretty soon I realize I need to get inside. I stumble and crawl in and then suffer for another 30 minutes with disabling vertigo. I'm by the door and it's open so I scoot myself over across the room and finally someone gives me a ****ty little blanket and I stop shivering so bad. Next thing I know about 2 AM PG's sister comes over and crawls under the blanket and I deduce she is not just trying to warm me up. Right in the middle of the damn living room with 9
misandrists! Hory Herr! I roll over prone to protect myself and finally the hostess runs her off with "That's not COOL!". Then from about 2AM to 4AM there are these long hair types (like a Journey band or something). I'm still shivering and trying to sleep and then about 4AM PG's sister comes back out and tries to attack me again but this time the hostess comes out and accuses us of doing the nasty. Right in the damn living room? She says she is going to call Uber so I just stumble out to my car and lock the door but now it's 32F. Finally about 4:50 the vertigo had subsided so I drove home. About *:30 SG calls and asks to be picked up so I go back. She comes out crying. It seems all the misandrists have told her PG's sister and I were doing
it. This includes some who were partly comatose themselves and one that was 3 feet away from me on the couch.

I look her straight in the face and tell her it didn't happen. Here was the argument that turned the tide:

1. I was so nauseated if the Swedish Women's Beach Volleyball team offered to give a buff massage I wouldn't have been able to join them
2. Date rape is wrong. Especially if you are the victim
3. I'm married.

Next year, if Phil Shane is still alive I am going to listen to Tom Jones songs.

Cap Mandrake -> RE: The League of Extraordinary Misandrists (1/2/2016 8:43:10 PM)

Admiral Lord SPrior is entertaining the Vice Mother-in-Law of Bengal so we take a break for a few days.

Cap Mandrake -> RE: The League of Extraordinary Misandrists (1/2/2016 9:00:41 PM)

We got in trouble with the Japs for sending more than one squadron over Koumac at night. Evidently, this was a house rule.

Quite a venial sin because they never did much damage but it was in the house rules so it is stopped.

Instead, this is the plan:

--One squadron B-17's at night over Koumac. They others (including some LB-30's ad medium bombers) attack 4th Div at Noumea
--Two separate task forces will bombard Koumac tonight (total of 3 BB's)
--3 BB's remain at Noumea. AE at Noumea can rear 1 1/2 BB per day. AKE's on their way from Auckland.
--SBD's move from Newcastle to Port Kembla
--KB unspotted for 3 days although there was extra CAP at Koumac 3 d ago.
--Landing force for La Foa is circumnavigating Tasmania and will have to loop quite South to
avoid Jap shipping off Newcastle.
--Another Bn will embark at Norfolk for La Foa

By using phrases like "venial sin" you are throwing 95% of the audience directly to Google to figure out what you are talking about. Somewhere Sister Rosita is smiling!

Crazy that someone would spike the drinks at such a small party. Next time you need to pay more attention when someone offers you a drink - did she give me a Crosby or a Cosby?

From what you said I think PG's sister spiked it to get you. I hope I am that sexy when I am your age.[:D]

Young desicat is right. Non-papists might not know what this means.

Let's assume everyone knows what sin is. [:)] Now, a "venial sin", from the Latin "venialis" (forgiveness) is what you might call a "misdemeanor". The concept is if you commit a venial sin and then get hit by an asteroid 5 minutes later you can still probably make Heaven..provided you have a clean record. An example of a venial sin would be like pretending to put money in the collection plate by clicking a half-dollar on the coins but palming the half-dollar so you gain the admiration of fellow worshippers without actually giving any money. The idea is Hell is going to be full enough without the suburban sprawl to accommodate all the venial sinners.

Now, a "cardinal sin" or "mortal sin" is another matter. If you commit one of these and you get hit by an asteroid..well then..adios amigo. I'm not actually sure what all the cardinal sins are but let's just say something like puling a Cosby. The good news is you can still go to Heaven but you have to ask for forgiveness BEFORE the asteroid hits you.

Our next topic for theological discussion will be the great paradox proposed by Father George Carlin:

"If God is all powerful can he make a rock so big even HE can't move it?"

Putting on my professional counselor's hat for moment, it sounds like sis-in law had this planned out. If you ask SG at the right time, she might reveal that her sister has tried this before with other 'unwilling' men.

Egads! [X(] That is seriously pathological. That would explain why both SG and I appeared to be darted at exactly the same time. It was the damndest thing. I was doing a passable salsa to the Spam Allstars "Pase lo que pase" and then 2 minutes later I am incapacitated and virtually immobile out on the patio and I could see SG suddenly being helped off to a bed by the solicitous League members
Both us had weird dissociative experiences and a feeling of difficulty moving or near paralysis.

Yesterday, the hostess called SG to apologize for having to tell her the bad news (which she confabulated) but said it was a great party and invited her back next year. [X(]

Both of us had the same response..."F*** no!" The one to ask about any previous examples would be Pocahontas Girl, who self-administered a knockout of vodka dose by 9 PM and therefore is off the list of suspects.

I wouldn't go back there with the 101st Airborne Division as an escort.

Cap Mandrake -> RE: The League of Extraordinary Misandrists (1/3/2016 4:12:34 PM)

It was such an aversive experience I couldn't drink alcohol for nearly 48 hrs!

ny59giants -> RE: The League of Extraordinary Misandrists (1/3/2016 4:19:23 PM)

Does sis-in-law have history of relationships with men not working out?
Have other women made comments to SG that she seems very happy with you?
If yes to both, then looks like a case of jealousy from sis-in-law. If she's going to be miserable, then she wants company!

Cap Mandrake -> RE: The League of Extraordinary Misandrists (1/3/2016 4:29:56 PM)

Well, she is actually the childhood friend of PG, who was our former neighbor who was sleeping with my gardener.

PG's "sister" is divorced once. One time, at a biker bar, SG had to warn her off for trying to dance inappropriately with me. That was handled amicably. Maybe it's time to be less amicable.
