What version are you using now? There was a problem a few versions ago if you remember getting freight to the Northern Italian ports and I'm wondering if you are using the fix for that.

Baelfiin -> RE: 2x4 High (2/11/2015 10:01:16 PM)

We are using .11

Your interdiction numbers are good, so the weather is the only other variable I believe that would affect the amount you get, unless Oran is dry, which I doubt. Did you take a lot of cargo ship losses? Did you notice?

Im not sure of the sequencing on if the weather changes and then logistics runs or logistics runs then the weather changes. If logistics first then there was a _lot_ of interdiction up.
Seems like I have plenty of cargo ships, but remember this is .11 and there was a fix for ports not getting supply in .13 or .14 ish.

Baelfiin -> RE: 2x4 High (2/14/2015 1:08:09 PM)

No freight being shipped to beaches is making it hard to smash the germans.
So this game with pelton is using .11, there is a fix for it in .14 or .15 but I can't find the changelogs for those two.

To us not privy to inside information a little elaboration would be very welcome! [:)]

I've had to temporarily halt my game due to the exact same issue. And it seems to be impacting my forces on the TOE as well.

I would expect a fix pretty soon, because this will grind every game to a halt until it is

JocMeister -> RE: 2x4 High (2/14/2015 2:13:18 PM)

Hah, and here we all thought it was Peltons brilliance that starved all our landings....Wonder if he will change his scores once he finds out all those wins were thanks to a bug. [:D]

Im not sure if anyone stayed ashore long enough to find out they were not getting any more freight so don't take anything away from Pelton =p

As far as inside information the only thing I will say is that, contrary to what the haters feel, there is a talented and dedicated group that works diligently every day to try to put the best product forward for the wargamers of the world to enjoy.

marion61 -> RE: 2x4 High (2/14/2015 5:02:50 PM)

In Pelton's defense now, this bug just popped up with the supply to beaches.[sm=00000924.gif]

Hmm, I canīt help feeling that was intended for me...

I wasnīt aware there were any "haters" out there? Some people (including myself) are not happy with the VP system. Iīm not going to start that discussion again here. But unless there has been some threads I havnīt seen there hasnīt been any "hating" going on on this board. On the contrary I think the discussions have been very civil and polite.

People have their full right to express unhappiness with some things in a product they have payed for? If not so for the hope that the faults they perceive will be corrected? Calling them haters is rather offensive.

Speaking for myself Iīm not hating anything. Iīm disappointed an excellent game is dragged down by a very poorly designed scoring system. If Iīm stepping on someones toes by saying that Iīm sorry but but from a game perspective its the truth. I have the utmost respect for the people involved in the making of WitW and everyone else involved.

PS. I wasnīt serious regarding my comment about Pelton. His victories are all well earned.

Baelfiin -> RE: 2x4 High (2/14/2015 6:06:21 PM)

Not you joc! Certain other individuals that seem to think nobody tests this game before the public gets it.

One dude accused 2x3 of being terrorists and that the testing team suffers from Stockholm syndrome.
Another dude thought someone else made such a witty post about how bad the testing crew was that he made it part of his signature.
Its a wargame people are expected to bitch about mechanics they don't like [:)]

marion61 -> RE: 2x4 High (2/14/2015 6:33:02 PM)

I know I do my share of bitching!!! I love this game, and want to see it become remembered as fondly as Master Of Orion is today, for me. I was in the service awhile, and I can tell you, that if the troops stop bitching is when you start worrying.

Oh! Now I donīt feel foolish at all....[:D]

Flaviusx -> RE: 2x4 High (2/14/2015 8:22:55 PM)

Baelfin, moral of the story: if you use negative VPs, the terrorists win. Also, why does 2by3 hate America?

What drama, that was straight up satire. Was a joke, my man. Sheesh.

Baelfiin -> RE: 2x4 High (2/19/2015 2:26:43 PM)

Hoping to get rolling again as soon as the new patch comes out.

Baelfiin -> RE: 2x4 High (2/21/2015 9:52:34 PM)

Daiquiri's all around freight on the beaches lets me get a couple of attacks in. Pelton has evacuated everyone in the south except for a die hard SS unit in rome.
He even managed to sneak an entire infantry division out through the Adriatic.
Looks like the real war is about to begin.

Baelfiin -> RE: 2x4 High (2/22/2015 11:12:58 PM)

Hit the western side last turn.
Blast a hole in the german lines in the east this turn. I am not ready to cross into the northern Italy garrison area yet however

Guilty of at least 2 of the comments, and unrepentant.

If tested properly why didnt these problems get found and resolved.

marion61 -> RE: 2x4 High (2/23/2015 1:03:31 PM)

I would say that the problem isn't how much it was tested, but every update, improvement, or any changes can have unexpected bugs pop up. Even a game as long lived, and played can have new bugs come up with each update. There's no such thing as a perfect game, and personally this game is way more stable than the majority, and we've had two or three updates. Maybe you should put yourself in their shoes before saying they didn't do their jobs.

Flaviusx -> RE: 2x4 High (2/23/2015 1:12:09 PM)

JeffK: these games take years to perfect. If ever. Your expectations are unrealistic. A game delayed until everything is just right is a game that will never be released and a company that will go bankrupt. No group of testers can ever find everything.

The real question is how quickly a company responds to feedback and puts out patches and if those patches are moving things forward. 2by3 scores well on these metrics and when you buy into one of their games you are buying into that support.

Baelfiin -> RE: 2x4 High (3/7/2015 4:20:26 AM)

This line looks pretty strong

carlkay58 -> RE: 2x4 High (3/7/2015 12:24:36 PM)

You will only really crack this line by invading behind it and threatening the lines of supply. Or by forcing the Axis to pull units out for reinforcements for other fronts.

Baelfiin -> RE: 2x4 High (3/9/2015 6:55:11 PM)

Well lets see if I can get things moving in the Italian front

Baelfiin -> RE: 2x4 High (3/10/2015 4:49:40 PM)

I was expecting to get crushed this turn but instead I made a little progress.
Took Trieste, but I don't know if the spice will flow for that port.

Baelfiin -> RE: 2x4 High (3/16/2015 3:11:37 PM)

Lots of mud no chance for me to attack.

I move into the correct hex this time to get Fiume to fall.

Flying paratroopers in to help defend the line. Just as a heads up the 52nd air portable division is quite expensive in casualties to move because it has armored vehicles that don't move by air.

Baelfiin -> RE: 2x4 High (3/16/2015 3:30:51 PM)

Turn 44

The weather clears up so I can attack Im sure I am going to get pounded by a huge Panzer corp at some point, so I am being conservative.
Hopefully my interdiction is going to make it a PITA for pelton to set up his counters.
