DanSez -> RE: Signing Off on the first time series (3/30/2016 6:27:06 AM)

Carriers continued: here are the in game list of sunk CVx. Very tragic loss of Soryu and one of those hard lessons. After the foolish loss of Hiryu and Zuikaku, Akagi and Soryu made it to Truk.
Soryu had high system damage but not so bad floation.
83 Sys, 24 Flt, 24 Major Flt, 25 Eng.
I put her into repair mode for about a month and got system down to 73 and reduced Engine to 22. I got antsy and tried to send her up to Saipan and maybe the Home Islands.

She got 2 turns out of Truk and the high System damage failed to shore up increasing floation and I lost her. Idiot.... But it drove home just how dangerous System damage is. I probably could have left her in Truk for 6 months if needed to get System down to zero.

Anyway... this is the game report. I doubt all those Allied carriers listed are truely sunk.

Air Production and R&D

IJN
Main Fighters are A6M3a and A6M5c
Main Bombers are G4M1, G3M2, J4Y1 and B5N2
Some Vals still are in service in both Carrier and land units but the carrier ones are being upgraded as soon as stock pile permits. Jills come on line next month and will start replacing dear old Kate.

IJA
Main Fighters are Ki-43-IIb and Ki-44-IIa
Main Bombers are the Ki-49-IIa
Still have plenty of Sallies and Lilies. Once the Ki-48-IIb DB starts up next month, I will start replacing some with the new DB.

R&D
A6M8 Zero 5x(30) 100% Repaired: Prod 5/45 - 99% toward next advance
A7M3-J Sam 5x(30) 24.67% Repaired: Prod 1/46

B6N1 Jill 1x(60) 100% Repaired: Prod 1/43
B6N2 Jill 3x(30) 100% Repaired: Prod 7/43 - 14% toward next advance

B7A2 Grace 1x(30) 10% Repaired: Prod 8/44
** I hope to add 2 more x30 Grace R&D over the next 3-4 months from other completed lines

C6N1-S Myrt 3x(30) 28.89% Repaired: Prod 5/45

D4Y3 Judy 3x(30) 100% Repaired: Prod 5/44 - 17% toward next advance
D5Y1 Myojo 1x(30) / 1x(60) 100% Repaired: Prod 8/45 - 21% toward next advance
** Kind of pie in the sky maybe, but wanting to pull these early to be ready for kami-duty as I expect to need them

G4M3a Betty 1x(25) / 4x(30) / 1x(90) 100% Repaired: Prod 2/43 - 71% toward next advance
** 1x(20) and 1x(90) were G4M1 production plants until recently - moved up to help push G4M3a to completion by 1/43

J1N1-S Irving 3x(30) 75.56% Repaired: Prod 10/43 - 13% toward next advance

J2M2 Jack 3x(30) 100% Repaired: Prod 2/43 - 45% toward next advance
J2M3 Jack 1x(30) 100% Repaired: Prod 4/44 - 2% toward next advance
** Just switched the J2M3 as I am gauging the amount of R&D to complete the J2M2 at 1/43 and don't want to waste researching into December as there is not enough time to do anything but waste those points. Better to widdle them over to the next Jack and maybe expand the sole production plant in the last days of December.

J7W1 Shinden 3x(30) 31.11% Repaired: Prod 12/45
** Long range plane to add a couple more toward the end of 43.

Ki-100-I Tony 6x(30) 100% Repaired: Prod 5/44 - 3% toward next advance

Ki-102a Randy 3x(30) 42.22% Repaired: Prod 3/45
Ki-102c Randy 2x(30) 33.3% Repaired: Prod 10/45

Ki-115a Tsurugi 1x(30) 40% Repaired: Prod 6/45
** Long slow slog to the Army version of the D5Y1 Myojo. Ki-115a is not helped by any upgrade path. No addition to this model until middle of 44, if then.

Ki-43-IV Oscar 5x(30) 100% Repaired: Prod 12/43 - 4% toward next advance
Ki-44-IIc Tojo 1x(30) / 1x(35) 100% Repaired: Prod 10/43 - 79% toward next advance

Ki-45 KAIc Nick 1x(30) 100% Repaired: Prod 3/43 - 66% toward next advance
Ki-45 KAId Nick 2x(30) 55% Repaired: Prod 4/44

Ki-46-III KAI Dinah 1x(30) 30% Repaired: Prod 10/44

Ki-48-IIb Lily 1x(45) 100% Repaired: Prod 1/43 - 8% toward next advance
** Going into production R&D points being wasted at this point but I don't need to expand it more than 45 per month.

Ki-84a Frank 6x(30) 57.78% Repaired: Prod 1/44

N1K1 Rex 1x(30) 100% Repaired: Prod 7/43 - 72% toward next advance
N1K1-J George 6x(30) 98.33% Repaired: Prod 7/43 - 83% toward next advance
** 3 fully repaired, 3 only require 1 to repair.

P1Y1 Frances 5x(30) 88.67% Repaired: Prod 8/43 - 56% toward next advance

DanSez -> RE: Signing Off on the first time series (3/31/2016 5:27:19 AM)

As an aside -- good news.
I might have found an opponent who is interested in the 'style' of game I have described.

Meanwhile, still many lessons to learn from this one.

DanSez -> RE: Signing Off on the first time series (3/31/2016 5:36:57 AM)

oh, yeah - the infamous WitP-AE Industry Chart.

I know I have burned up a lot of fuel fooling around the Solomons. Now I am trying to figure out ways of saving. I have been producing some xAPs, xAKs, TKs and AOs. The CVEs are still accelerated. This month I have started the process of shutting down some of the Merchant Ship Building. I plan on starting to trim the Naval Ship Building as the accelerated carriers of '43 complete.

Other than that, organizing the Resource/Oil/Fuel/Supply shuttle services are still a learning and experimenting process. Please recall the HR that Oil and Fuel can only be transported by TKs/AOs and those limited fuel bunkers of some xAKs.

DanSez -> RE: Signing Off on the first time series (5/20/2016 8:01:07 AM)

This game is still in progress (Jan 29, 1943) and plan on keeping it going, but have launched a new PBEM game

This is a test post for Next AAR (RA 8.1 game vs trascott) which I hope will be more story oriented

Looking for alternative font/color. Will be fiddling with this a bit

Your face is the first and last vision I care to see. You gave me all that I truly needed, a strong body, a calm mind and the willingness to listen more than talk. I know you blame yourself for the disease that weakened my heart. You would have taken that upon yourself if possible. Your strength sustained and guided me like the sun to a flower.

Life is a gift. With that comes an unavoidable truth, every creature born is destined to die. Our eyes fail to see the reality and so the most precious of days are often wasted in stumbles from one dreary thing to another, never knowing when or recognizing the end as it comes. I should have come to see you more often but what I thought was my duty kept me away.

I have seen too much. The War has changed all it has not killed. My soul is ground to dust with the things I can not forget. This is the only way I know that the truth can be preserved. Please forgive me for not remaining to take care of you.

Not too bad. I don't like the look of enlarged font size. Choice is mostly between Dark Blue and Brick Red color

Is the italicized font sufficent?
Don't want to funk it up too much...

got some more writing to do,
Any thoughts?

jwolf -> RE: Signing Off on the first time series (5/20/2016 2:14:14 PM)

IMHO the red is a bit easier on the eyes, but I admit I'm not sure and I keep switching back and forth. Good luck with the new game and AAR.
