1939, Happy New Year!

The United States and China continue their peaceful development. The British and French are justly nervous about the Japanese strength on and about Hainan. The USA reminds all parties that it does not want war in the Far East. Embargoes will be applied against aggressors. This is not out of a desire to harm citizens but to guide leaders to the way of peace.

falco148 -> RE: GD1938 Game 19 (4/30/2015 4:01:17 PM)

The French counter-attack all the way from Brussels and Antwerp and bust all the way through to Cologne. We Germans are stunned. We're not quite sure how this happened. The situation is very serious and reserves from the East are being scrambled to counter the threat.

The Fuhrer is so furious, he's currently running out of carpets to chew through......

Jeffrey H. -> RE: GD1938 Game 19 (5/2/2015 8:57:18 PM)

The smiling Chinese are building a tank factory....

falco148 -> RE: GD1938 Game 19 (5/3/2015 5:16:14 PM)

Germany and France agree to peace terms.

Twotribes -> RE: GD1938 Game 19 (5/3/2015 7:35:47 PM)

The turn in the folder says Soviets but it is the Japanese turn.

ironduke1955 -> RE: GD1938 Game 19 (5/3/2015 8:48:51 PM)

Clerical Error now reads Japan

cpdeyoung -> RE: GD1938 Game 19 (5/10/2015 1:15:01 AM)

The United States, and China, continue to enjoy peace. Now France joins us in that happy state, and can Great Britain and Germany be far behind. It looks like the world dodged a massive world war!

falco148 -> RE: GD1938 Game 19 (5/10/2015 7:04:09 AM)

Germany withdraws all U-boats from the Atlantic and English Channel, starts to rebuild damaged infrastructure and reorganizes battered air and land formations.

I think the clerical error has been repeated ?

Twotribes -> RE: GD1938 Game 19 (5/10/2015 8:14:15 PM)

The turn is soviet but it says my password is wrong, did someone somehow change it?

Maybe it's a cross post ? I didn't play a turn and it would normally have been me who passes to russia.

ironduke1955 -> RE: GD1938 Game 19 (5/11/2015 12:14:40 AM)

Jeffrey H. is correct I must have crossed posted game 19, so I replayed turns for both games 19 and 20 they both should be back on track. Getting sloppy in my old age.

Twotribes -> RE: GD1938 Game 19 (5/11/2015 1:27:06 AM)

I always worry about that playing the British French in several games and was playing the US in 2 as well

ironduke1955 -> RE: GD1938 Game 19 (5/11/2015 4:59:06 PM)

We have definitely lost Jose the French player, the French are in good shape having repelled the Germans. If any player would like to take part and doesn't mind joining a game underway, then let me know I have the password. If not then this game is finished.

ernieschwitz -> RE: GD1938 Game 19 (5/11/2015 5:12:46 PM)

I´ve lost track: Who is playing who, and which version... I think it is GD 1938 v.221 but I am not at all sure... can someone confirm...

Twotribes -> RE: GD1938 Game 19 (5/11/2015 6:15:08 PM)

V221 no sharing of info not sure on troops. I am the Soviets

Jeffrey H. -> RE: GD1938 Game 19 (5/11/2015 7:16:43 PM)

I am Japan in this game. The French player has been keeping up better than before, or at least it seems that way to me.

cpdeyoung -> RE: GD1938 Game 19 (5/11/2015 9:26:05 PM)

I am the USA/China.

Chuck

baloo7777 -> RE: GD1938 Game 19 (5/11/2015 11:54:49 PM)

I am the British, and I helped the French as his Ally.

ironduke1955 -> RE: GD1938 Game 19 (5/12/2015 12:25:49 AM)

I don't have a problem with the British taking over the French, seems like the most logical solution assuming baloo7777 does not mind doing it?

baloo7777 -> RE: GD1938 Game 19 (5/12/2015 2:12:57 AM)

No problem with me. I think on the last British turn we had discussed the French Peace initiative (with Germany). As the Germans have begun withdrawing Uboats from British home territorial waters, we may still be able to support that initiative, whether I play or someone else plays France.

ironduke1955 -> RE: GD1938 Game 19 (5/12/2015 12:48:28 PM)

Ok I will send baloo7777 the French Password.

Jeffrey H. -> RE: GD1938 Game 19 (5/13/2015 1:44:59 AM)

I'll play France :D !

cpdeyoung -> RE: GD1938 Game 19 (5/13/2015 5:02:47 AM)

Peace reigns.

baloo7777 -> RE: GD1938 Game 19 (5/16/2015 8:23:43 PM)

The Franco-English Alliance is having a Peace-fest. The French responded favorably to an Italian request for alliance and feasting! We are both opening new bottles of wine together!
However, those stiff upper lip allies of ours keep reminding us of the tinderbox that the East has become. Just how long can the peacefulness of peaceful nations remain, well, peaceable??? [:D]

cpdeyoung -> RE: GD1938 Game 19 (5/17/2015 12:30:12 PM)

Maybe we should all look into building a starship to Alpha Centauri?

Oops, wrong game.

falco148 -> RE: GD1938 Game 19 (5/17/2015 3:27:18 PM)

Fascist world domination is too boring. Peace is the way to go. The Fuhrer invites everybody for a love-in at the Reichstag.....[;)]

Jeffrey H. -> RE: GD1938 Game 19 (5/17/2015 5:07:14 PM)

The world has gone mad, there is no war ! Although previous games have shown, the English Empire will out produce us all if not curbed from the early stages.

ironduke1955 -> RE: GD1938 Game 19 (5/17/2015 6:40:39 PM)

It must be pointed out that it is only May 1939 and there has already been a bloody War between Germany and France and the UK. This already takes this game into the red literally compared to the simulations sire the 2nd World War. The smell of war is in the air I am not certain where it is coming from but its coming and you better be ready.

Jeffrey H. -> RE: GD1938 Game 19 (5/17/2015 9:26:23 PM)

The French basically state to Japan that they will follow England into war. As Chesty Puller would say, "We're surrounded, that simplifies things" Or something like that.
