Airborne Rifles -> Northern Fury (8/12/2015 12:20:02 PM)

Hello all, I've been playing through Gunner98's excellent Northern Fury battle set (if you haven't tried them, you're missing out), and I've been putting up an AAR over at the Grogheads forum. I've had a lot of fun writing these up as a sort of novelization and I wanted to share here as well I hope many of you will enjoy the narrative of the story that Gunner is telling.

And the second one:

Northern Fury 3: Dagger to the Heart, a different kind of scenario with a different kind of narrative:

Just a word of warning, the narratives contain spoilers, so don't read if you want to go into the scenarios with a clean slate! [:)]

Dimitris -> RE: Northern Fury (8/12/2015 1:44:10 PM)

Thanks a bunch! Been following this for a while [:)]

Sardaukar -> RE: Northern Fury (8/12/2015 1:46:44 PM)

X-Ray station is my favourite as NATO side, but really really hard.

Airborne Rifles -> RE: Northern Fury (8/12/2015 1:53:00 PM)

Agreed, I definitely "cheated" by going back to old saves and doing things differently to keep some of my subs alive.

Galahad78 -> RE: Northern Fury (8/12/2015 3:59:31 PM)

Nice! I just finished NF4 past evening. I'll definitely take some clues for NF2, where all my subs fail miserably [:@] I'm starting to build a tremendous respect for those ugly Soviet ASW Helos [:D]

Airborne Rifles -> RE: Northern Fury (8/12/2015 4:07:01 PM)

I found the best way to get my subs into the Soviet battle group formations in NF2 was to get in front of them, go deep and all stop, and then let the surface ships pass over. Then come up and launch your attacks from the rear, and if there is an Udaloy you need to take it out or at least get it to run away from you if you want the sub to survive.

cf_dallas -> RE: Northern Fury (10/11/2015 2:35:15 AM)

Did the NF5 thread implode under the power of awful Scandinavian puns?

Airborne Rifles -> RE: Northern Fury (10/11/2015 10:48:02 AM)

Ha! No, RL just got really busy over the past couple weeks and I haven't had time to play or write. I'm hoping to get back to it today or tomorrow.

Airborne Rifles -> RE: Northern Fury (10/13/2015 10:47:44 AM)

Thanks Commander Cody! That's high praise. I am really enjoying these scenarios and the back story that Gunner98 has created. It's an immersive experience to play. They've grabbed my attention like nothing else I've played. Highly recommended!

pchandler43 -> RE: Northern Fury (10/14/2015 1:27:58 AM)

I cannot get NF3 to work, it says the DB file is missing. What can I do to fix this?
