West Coast or bust! Our troopers want to drink Anchor Steam!

Missed your quote Encircled,sorry.

I now have two task forces of 7 total destroyers running into Chittagong nightly. Could be a real surprise for those big slow British BBs.[sm=innocent0009.gif]

Coos Bay empty.[X(]

I picked up 344 strategic VP for no loss yesterday.[sm=00000028.gif]

Hit! But no explosion.[8|]

A full sentai of Tojo IIb's I believe. Only three planes, but scary still.[X(]

Why I have never used AKV's before!

Nasty!

Good one.

Lowpe -> RE: Manila Falls (3/28/2016 3:23:04 PM)

Retreating to Chittagong, and I blew a great chance to really shoot down the Allied carrier planes.[:(]

Lowpe -> RE: Manila Falls (3/28/2016 3:25:58 PM)

There will be fireworks this next turn.

Lots of Naval action in Bay of Bengal and New Hebrides very likely.

Clash with Boise Supergroup very likely![X(]

Lowpe -> RE: Manila Falls (3/28/2016 6:05:16 PM)

October a fairly bloody day...

In the New Hebrides I tried a new task force composition. The Allies have a nasty SAG group led by the Boise. I was originally going to go with the Mutsu and 6 destroyers, but given the lack of Allied subs in this area (they are thick as thieves to the north around Ndeni), I decided instead to go with four heavy cruisers.

The Allied SAG was stronger by 2 CL than expected, and we had a wonderful fight.[:)] With the low moonlight, I was hoping for some torpedo hits, but alas, no joy.

The Kinugasa launched her torps, but everybody else was marginally involved in the fight, as often happens when I cross the T as I did this night.

Damage to Kinugasa was 10 sys and 11 float. Damage to the Allies was minimal.[:(]

Lowpe -> RE: Manila Falls (3/28/2016 6:10:27 PM)

Up at Chittagong, I intercepted the Allied fleet. My hope was to maximize chances to hit the minefields, hopefully score some torpedo hits, disrupt the battleships withdraw so Betties could hit them in day.

Our plucky destroy did some damage, knocking out radar and in general savaging the superstructure and tower of the battleship, and then the Valiant put a 15 incher into her.

[image]local://upfiles/44178/CB37EDF9EA314F4F98FE86975117F1CC.jpg[/image]

Our damaged and burning destroyer from yesterday's CV strike sank at Ramree.

Lowpe -> RE: Manila Falls (3/28/2016 6:18:48 PM)

Then, my complacency bites me again, as out west of Canada the Allies have been prowling for a supply convoy returning to Alaska.

My, but Jocke builds nice combat task forces.

Night Time Surface Combat, near Alliford Bay at 194,54, Range 4,000 Yards

PB Shinko Maru, Shell hits 2
PB Fukkai Maru, Shell hits 16, heavy fires, heavy damage
PB Ryuto Maru, Shell hits 2
PB Ichiyu Maru, Shell hits 1

Allied Ships

Poor visibility due to Rain with 14% moonlight
Maximum visibility in Rain and 14% moonlight: 3,000 yards
Range closes to 24,000 yards...

Then, my bombing campaign of the US has drawn the ire of the locals, and they sweep and sweep and sweep. No lightnings today, so I suspect I can see them tomorrow.

Interestingly, Jocke didn't just sweep at 20K, some came in at 15. Plus I think there was a strong LRCAP presence too.

The results show the A6M2 is getting long in the tooth.

My CAP was at 9,10, 12, and 14K feet. Nothing at 20K. Pretty interesting results eh? You can tell by the losses what he swept me with.

Lowpe -> RE: Manila Falls (3/29/2016 6:28:23 PM)

We shoot down 10 Beaufighters. I was kind of surprised to see them here, aren't they British? But I was prepared with low CAP, gotta love Rufes.

Here comes my patent pending sub rush...including 4 midgets.

What will happen? Will the Allies disperse their merchants because of the sighting?

Lokasenna -> RE: Manila Falls (3/29/2016 6:42:32 PM)

The Aussies get a few.

ny59giants -> RE: Manila Falls (3/29/2016 7:19:33 PM)

Be thankful the early versions of the Beaufighters don't carry torpedoes. I team them up with B-25 attack bombers to be a good low level combo to attack ships in '43 and beyond.

Lowpe -> RE: Manila Falls (3/29/2016 7:20:58 PM)

The first attack...

ny59giants -> RE: Manila Falls (3/29/2016 7:33:25 PM)

You will get no sympathy from Allied players when it comes to dud torpedoes. [:D] I've had a sub or two use ALL their torpedoes to get enough hits and a few explosions just to sink ONE xAK. [sm=00000003.gif]

Lowpe -> RE: Manila Falls (3/29/2016 7:34:41 PM)

A bad roll halves my AV. Still, can't complain fighting in nasty terrain.

1 hex away from a heavily escorted Betty strike of 45 planes.

I will attempt to draw some of his bombers off this next day.

Allies kicking me out of India.[:)][:)]
