Thanks a ton Herr Maus Man! [&o]

Everyone, this will be available in the imminent 1.02 UPDATE install and the content in its Mods folder

[:)]

Ascension -> RE: 3D graphics Mod (6/20/2016 4:35:32 PM)

Wow, that looks great. Unfortunately, I cannot get it to work. I downloaded the latest zip, unzipped it in the mods folder and activated it with JSGME. The terrain in-game still looks the same as before. Did I overlook any steps?

Edit: Oops, meant Maus Man Mod of course:

Make sure the Zip program you use does not create a double folder (ie: first a folder called "MausMan 3D Terrain Graphics" after zip name, then another one with the content. If so, copy the inner folder to your Mods folder.

It should look like this:

Crossroads -> RE: 3D graphics Mod (6/20/2016 6:04:41 PM)

On another note, there was a 1.02 Open Beta out for download for a couple of hours where the folder was screwed up before we spotted it. Make sure your folder structure is as above

budd -> RE: 3D graphics Mod (6/20/2016 6:58:11 PM)

sometimes there is an extra folder level, check to see how many folder levels you have. 1 level above game files as above.

Ascension -> RE: 3D graphics Mod (6/20/2016 9:56:19 PM)

Thank you! The screenshot was really helpful. My folder was missing a 'graphics' folder for some reason. I created one and copied all the files into it - and it worked.

Crossroads -> RE: 3D graphics Mod (6/21/2016 6:50:10 AM)

Glad to hear that, Inq! [:)]

Crossroads -> RE: 3D graphics Mod (6/22/2016 7:00:45 PM)

Now included in the 1.02 UPDATE - Just launch your JSGME to enjoy! [:)]

MausMan2 -> RE: 3D graphics Mod (12/4/2016 9:34:29 PM)

So getting back to more refinements to this mod. There were still some rough parts in the update in 1.02. I'm posting a replacement to include little fixes and attention to elevation changes for roads and rail. Did some work on the files used to display different conditions. Also more enhancements added to the ruined towns/cities in the terrain files.

Just deactivate the current MausMan mod (and probably delete it). Then download and unzip this new one your mods and activate.

MausMan Downloads

And for those who like vehicle profile counters as an alternate in the 3-D view, I also added an incomplete mod of how I view units in 3d. Most units for most stock scenarios in ME have been converted with this mod. Download at the same site. Its called '..3D Units MausMan Graphics.zip' -a work in progress for anyone interested.

MausMan2 -> RE: 3D graphics Mod (12/4/2016 9:44:58 PM)

oh, screenshot time

BTW, AI was allowed to play Israel on this run.

BloodyBill76 -> RE: 3D graphics Mod (4/21/2017 1:11:15 AM)

@ Maus Man, do you still have the EF/WF 3d terrain mods for the campaign series? If so can I get them?

t341 -> RE: 3D graphics Mod (6/1/2017 7:27:31 PM)

Shared to https://www.facebook.com/groups/1883329641902873/

MausMan2 -> RE: 3D graphics Mod (11/5/2017 6:57:59 PM)

ok, just posted over on the EF mod threads a link to download a northern Russia WWII version.
It should be good for all conditions and 3d zoom levels.

-Also included a folder with it of a couple extras. They're to include barren and brown trees in the terrain files,
along with some WF terrain versions for those EF scenarios when you're in Germany/Poland/Czechoslovakia/Hungary/Austria etc.
You'd need to manually rename the files and move them if you want to see them in the game. good luck.

majgentob -> RE: 3D graphics Mod (2/23/2018 3:07:25 AM)

Help! I bought the game specifically to enjoy this mod, but it will not show up in game,even after I've over written the stock 3d map files.What do I have to do to enjoy Muas Man's work in 2.0?!!! Still doesn't work even though I have carefully followed the folder structure used by the other GFX mods...

Hello majgentop, a listing of current mods can be found at Mods and their Use ToC post.

MausMan's excellent 3D mod is for 1.02. I believe he's working on upgrading it, this might take a while for graphics structure saw some fundamental changes for 2.0. d I for one am certainly looking towards it being available to 2.0 as well.

MausMan2 -> RE: 3D graphics Mod (2/24/2018 6:41:10 AM)

I hear you majentob. Its coming. putting every spare minute into it I can for the last couple months.
-no gamming for me until its done. very close... here's a look so far:

Nice work with the map art - impressive, most impressive!

Klink, Oberst

majgentob -> RE: 3D graphics Mod (2/26/2018 6:06:58 AM)

Simply put, these are gorgeous, MausMan! Thanks so much! Your mod not only makes the game even more appealing, it helps me to conceptualize the game's scale better. Most appreciated.

Plodder -> RE: 3D graphics Mod (2/27/2018 10:22:40 AM)

Would it be possible to get this mod available for West Front as well? Would be perfect for the WD/Tunisia/Sicily/Italy scenarios..

Jason Petho -> RE: 3D graphics Mod (2/27/2018 3:20:58 PM)

I suspect this terrain MOD will be included as a MOD in West Front II when it comes out next year.

Plodder -> RE: 3D graphics Mod (2/28/2018 4:12:53 AM)

Yes, well, that's a given.[:)]I'm talking about the West Front we currently have..[:D]

I am not the modder. But speaking as the coder, retrofitting MausMan2's mod to West Front would be quite difficult, because the graphics files -- their content, layout, file names, etc. -- have been reorganized in so many different ways. (And so too the code.) Although we haven't touted it, in CSME and all games going forward, the graphics system has been drastically overhauled. Making back porting to JTCS very, very difficult.

He's already made a JTCS East Front 3D mod, lookie here.

berto -> RE: 3D graphics Mod (3/1/2018 5:10:32 PM)

Ah, okay, more power to him!

MausMan2 -> RE: 3D graphics Mod (3/3/2018 6:57:34 PM)

Well I can only manage one update per year, I think. I'm looking ahead for the new versions, not so much for the existing wf. but if the new wf is some years off and I get into wwII again, well who knows. kind of moving away from wwII these days.

MausMan2 -> RE: 3D graphics Mod (4/3/2018 2:59:11 AM)

Ok the day is here to finally get this shared for the 2.x version. It can be downloaded from: 3D MausMan Map Mod 2.0
You should be able to unzip into you mod folder and then activate it in JSGME.

Like before, it's trying to get a look of a 250m area. Some of the terrain is subtle so you may want to flip over to the 2d map to verify what you're seeing at first. I'd suggest playing with a scratch map in both Mediterranean and Desert biomes to get a feel of the look.

Thanks to Crossroads for getting me going on this again and doing the night files. Enjoy.
