Turn 8. Nov/Dec 1940. Allied #5. British RN. East Med.

Turn 8. Nov/Dec 1940. Allied #5. British RN. North Atlantic. CPs Restored.

The CW uses the combine to replace in the North Atlantic the 2 CPs sunk and 3 CPs forced to abort by the Germans two impulses ago. Barring any other disruptions, the CW convoy routes are back flowing as wanted.

rkr1958 -> RE: Global War AAR in Pictures (3/14/2016 12:15:00 AM)

Turn 8. Nov/Dec 1940. Allied #5. British RN. Cape Verde Basin.

Because the CW took a combine, the 10 unprotected CPs in the Cape Verde Basin are again at risk from Italian sub attacks. Not wanting to push their luck the Italian subs will again not find these CPs (as they did last impulse), the CW uses their 2, and last, naval move of their combine to move a heavy cruiser and 3 additional CPs into Cape Verde Basin. Of course, the CW choose not to initiate combat.

Turn 8. Nov/Dec 1940. Allied #5. Italian Subs. Cape Verde Basin. Round 1, Search.

However, the Italians do initiate search and are successful.

Turn 8. Nov/Dec 1940. Allied #5. Italian Subs. Cape Verde Basin. Round 1, Sub Combat.

The Italians manage to sink 1 CP, but see their sub in the highest sea box forced to abort.

Both sides decide to stay but both fail to find the other. That result sits perfectly well with the RN.

CW convoy routes are safe, for now.

Turn 8. Nov/Dec 1940. Allied #5. Northern China.

Are you aware that disorganized CVPs still fly in naval combat? The CW should have engaged they still had the edge in the air.

I wasn't sure. Now I know. By the way, the RN carrier pilots were so euphoric over the success of their port attack on Jaffa that it was probably best they didn't fly. Maybe a bit too much celebration. [;)] [:D]

Turn 8. Nov/Dec 1940. Axis #7. Japan. Strategic Bombing.

Japan takes a land and uses 1 of their 2 air mission for a strategic bombing raid on Sian. A raid which was ineffective.

Turn 8. Nov/Dec 1940. Axis #7. Germany, Italy. Eastern Med.

Germany rebases two air units with air to sea factors to Libya. Also, one of the two air units is also a badly needed fighter.

Italy takes a land, but doesn't really do that much other than disembarking the 1-3 infantry corps to Alexander.

If Persia is not conquered by Soviets, Italy should get 4 units in Iraq to align it!

That's their next objective. The problem is getting there in supply. I assume they must be in supply to align Persia?

Nope. Four corps in any adjacent country, excluding Turkey and the USSR.

Also, I have run into a nasty bug in the latest public beta, after conquest. I await with interest to see if other people have it. I hope they don't.

Turn 8. Nov/Dec 1940. Allied #10. CW Port Attack.

The CW takes a combine. They use three of their air missions to launch two useless port attacks. One against Keil and the other against Brest. The attacks were useless because even though the planes got through, they had no chance of doing anything to any of the ships.

Turn 8. Nov/Dec 1940. Allied #10. RAF Strategic Bombing, Paris France.

rkr1958 -> RE: Global War AAR in Pictures (3/19/2016 4:44:52 AM)

Turn 8. Nov/Dec 1940. Allied #10. RN, Cape Verde.

The RN gladly choose not to initiate combat against the two Italian sub units left in Cape Verde. Even better for the RN, and the CW, is that both sub units are disorganized meaning that the Italians will be unable to initiate combat there as the non-phasing player.

Turn 8. Nov/Dec 1940. Allied #10. RN, East Med.

Even in storm, the RN is looking to find and engage the Italian RM in surface combat. However, both sides fail to find the other so no naval combat.
