Turn 12. Jul/Aug 1941. Allied #4. CW. Eastern Med. Cyprus.

Two of three of the CW land moves were used for the amphibious landing to take Famagusta, Cyprus.

Turn 12. Jul/Aug 1941. Allied #4. CW. Red Sea. East Africa.

The third land move, of the CW combine, was used to disemark the 4-2 Indian MIL corps into Port Said, Sudan.

Turn 12. Jul/Aug 1941. Allied #4. CW. West Med. Gibraltar. Malta.

With more room for air bases in the Med, the CW rebases two bombers to Gibraltar and a Sunderland NAV to Malta.

Turn 12. Jul/Aug 1941. Allied #4. CW. Transport Missions Around the Horn of Africa.

Last allied impulse, in which the CW took a naval, they launched three transport missions carrying two fighter units and a 6-5 mot corps headed around the horn of Africa with destination East Africa. These position of these transport missions are currently in the 0 box of Cape Verde (Mosquito fighter), Gulf of Guinea (6-5 mot) and Cape Basin (Whilwind fighter).

If, last allied impulse, I had been sure of the success of the amphibious invasion of Cyprus I would have rebased via transports the two fighter units through the Med to Cyprus. But, the success of the invasion was far from a sure thing. Moving these two fighter units around the horn of Africa is.

Unfortunately, during conquest you will encounter a bug. Cyprus should be liberated by the CW. However, MWiF currently does not understand how to liberate territories, so this won't happen. Be aware of this bug, so you can try and work around it.

Next turn, the Italians will still own hexes in Cyprus. Ignore this fact -- they shouldn't really have them.

AlbertN -> RE: Global War AAR in Pictures (3/29/2016 10:18:54 AM)

Hmm I expect Italian holdings in Afrika to be in danger soon unless Italy starts to churn out CPs - and each CP produced is something else not produced.

CW should invest more ships in the Italian coast too. Overstretch Italy defenders - and mostly give the risk to intercept returning ships which are aborted or return to base at the end of turn.
Some fast cruisers at the 4 box - which stay at sea too at the end of the turn - can easily do; and a NAV like the Sunderland from Malta.
Italy will pay dearly soon enough every time a ship has to go away.

And UK can port strike, port strike anything pratically with their CVs and airplanes as they can scour the Med freely.

Note this game is being played without limited overseas supply, so CPs are not needed as they are in game playing with that rule.

Turn 12. June/Aug 1941. Axis #5.

Japan, Germany and Italy all take land actions. The weather is fine except for storms in the North Monsoon.

Turn 12. June/Aug 1941. Axis #5. Japan. Strategic Bombing Raid. Sian, China.

Once again this turn Japan flies a strategic bombing raid against Sian, Chian. And once again this turn the rail fails to damage any Chinese production.

Turn 12. June/Aug 1941. Axis #5. Japan. Land Combat. Tsinan, China.

The Japanese retake Tsinan but at a loss of two divisions. Japan's land combat roll of 4 was horrible. But, better than a 3 which would have resulted in the loss of 3 units. And, no reaction by the USA to Japan retaking Tsinan.

rkr1958 -> RE: Global War AAR in Pictures (3/30/2016 1:10:21 AM)

Turn 12. June/Aug 1941. Axis #5. Japan. Northern China.

The plan is to pull Yamamoto and the two IJN marine corps currently in northern China out of China completely. Yamashira as soon as practical will take over for Yamamoto and take command the IJA army group north. Yamashira's and a 6-4 infantry corps was just disembarked in Suchow this impulse.

Turn 12. June/Aug 1941. Axis #5. Japan. Southern China.

Japanese plans also include the redeployment of the two IJN marine divisions in Southern China and Indochina as soon as they can be replaced by other units. The two marine divisions will be assigned to Yamamoto's command.

Germany carries out three land combat attacks in against the Soviets in north. All three were successful, though the second resulted in three German units before disorganized.

Note, the roll for the third land combat isn't shown. The roll produced a modified roll of 23, destruction of both defending units and a breakthrough.

If Kunming is empty Japan can rush the 4 moving Marine toward it.

Kunming is empty, by the marine can't reach it in storm? I guess, you're saying when the weather clears?

Turn 12. Jul/Aug 1941. Allied #6. USSR. Ground Strikes.

The Soviets take a land. They use their last organized aircraft with TAC factors and a heavy artillery division to ground strike two German stacks. The ground strike by the air unit it totally ineffective. The one by the artillery division is moderately effective. However, the Soviets really wanted to disorganize Rommel. They didn't but that would have been nice.

Turn 12. Jul/Aug 1941. Allied #6. USSR. Eastern Front (North).

The Soviets use their 3 rail moves to rail into to MIL units into this theater. Railing factories will have to wait. The situation in this theater is desperate.

Turn 12. Jul/Aug 1941. Allied #6. USSR. Eastern Front (South).

The situation is better for the Soviets in the south, but it's still no picnic.

Turn 12. Jul/Aug 1941. Allied #6. RN. Red Sea. Surface Combat.

While the RN did manage to force the Italian cruiser to abort and did take full control of the Red Sea, the RN are a bit disappointed in the gunnery accuracy. The RN had a chance to damage the cruiser and didn't.

The RN moves the aircraft Carrier Ark Royal newly loaded with planes under escort by the heavy cruisers London from Plymouth, England to the 1 box of the Italian Coast. The RN elects to initiate combat. The Italians add the fighter unit based in Sicily to their mix. However, both sides fail to find the other so no combat.

Turn 12. Jul/Aug 1941. Allied #6. RN. East Med.

In the East Med, the RN manages to find and surprise the axis there. The RN chooses to isolate the Italian air and naval forces in box 4, thus removing significant axis air power from this round of combat.
