Yeah, I'd send an amount of BPs/resources to Russia every turn that fills the difference between what Russia could have had (in BPs) and what they currently have. In this particular game that indeed means 4 to 5 BPs per turn, or more, to a total of what? 70 to 90 BP's?

Still, those kapitalist pigs in Washington are not willing to open a second front in Europe. They rather see our brave comrads dying while defending mother Russia against the fascist hordes of evil! That's not right! Where are the US soldiers? Fighting the neutral Vichy government in a desert? We need a second front. We need British and American troops on the ground in Western Europe! But no. They delay, delay and delay, all to make sure the Soviets citizens will pay a terrible price. Cowards!".

Turn 18. July/August 1942. Axis #1. Actions. Japan takes a conmbine and Germany and Italy take a land. Japan's objective is for a quick finish of the Dutch East Indies. That is, the capture of Batavia, which is currently held by a single corps, before the CW can reinforce. Germany's objectives is to destroy the Zhukvo salient, breakthrough at multiple points along the Soviet lines, reduces the Pskvo pocket and capture Odessa. Italy's objective is to counterattack and destroy the CW beachhead in Syria provide they can get "some odds". Turn 18. July/August 1942. Axis #1. Japan. F-boats. Arabian Sea. Japanese F-boats decide to try to initiate combat against unescorted CW convoys in the Arabian Sea. The RAF flies in a fighter to the 0-box to provide some level of protection to the convoys. This works as the IJN F-boats find the CW convoys but the RAF fighter is able to force a naval air combat. The Japanese were 1 surprise point short of being able to force a submarine combat. What an exciting non-battle! Turn 18. July/August 1942. Axis #1. Germany. The Eastern Front. Ground Strike 1. Air to Air. The first of three Luftwaffe ground strikes is against the Zhukov salient and turns out to be a disaster for the Luftwaffe. The Soviet fighter unit was just brought on at the beginning of this turn and took down two very good Stuka dive bomber air units. This air to air combat was not a good start for the Germans summer offensive in the East. The Wehrmacht hopes this is not a omen of things to come. Though not at great odds if this attack and the one against Zhukov succeed then Soviet command in the north would be severely crippled and the Wehrmacht would have a good chance to take Moscow this turn. The Red Air force manages to down a Luftwaffe fighter unit, drive off the Luftwaffe bomber unit and get a Soviet bomber unit through which adds 3 factors to Zhukov's defense. Land Combat 2. 0 factors of German offensive ground support, 3 factors of Soviet defensive ground support and -2.5 HQ support from Zhukvo lowers an otherwise good Blitz attack to one that isn't so good. Turn 18. July/August 1942. Axis #1. Germany. The Eastern Front. Land Combat 3. This land combat was a critical Blitz attack by the Germans against the northern flank of the Soviet defense. If success, and the odds were that it would be, this attack would break that flank and expose the rail line running from Archangel to Moscow to advancing Germans. This would have serious consequences on the flow of Lend Lease from the USA to the Soviets. However, another very low roll by the Wehrmacht. Turn 18. July/August 1942. Axis #1. Germany. The Eastern Front. South. Germany decide to wait to attack Odessa. The odds that they were looking at were just over +5A, which given two Soviet land units in Odessa, translates into a 28% chance of taking the city. Realistically, the only adjustment to that available would be +1.5 by adding in Rundstedt and HQ support. Well, with one of the two Soviet ground units disorganized, the Germans could get an additional +2 if they could manage to disorganize the second one. So, the Germans are looking at somewhere between +6.5 to +8.5 on the assault table. Not great but an attack they are going to have to make later in the turn. Turn 18. July/August 1942. Axis #1. Italy. Tripoli, Syria. The Italians decide to wait on their assault to take Tripoli, Syria until the 3-2 artillery and 1-3 infantry division can reach the attack. Without these two units the Italians are looking at a +2.5 attack on the assault table, which given three CW ground units, has a 12.5% chance of succeeding. These additional 4 factors would only increase the odds another 1.5 to 2%, but every little bit helps. So the Italians decided to wait. Also, if the attack fails, in which case the survivors become disorganized then these survivors would become easy pickens if the RN manages to cut supply to them through the East Med, or the Italian Coast. The development in the USSR isn't that bad for the USSR. I suggest an attack on the disorganised 6-4 INF, if you can get decent odds. Also, the two German units north (the elite 7-4 and 8-4 stack) can be put out of supply by moving the 5-3 into the swamp and the CAV up north to the west. This makes the lone 7-4 INF a good target for an attack too. And when you move the stack with the Irkutsk MIL one hex east into the swamps, the Germans can't restore supply to those units in their impulse too, I believe. However: beware: only attack if you can maintain a frontline consisting of two units a hex... It's too bad you've taken the division as loss on the attack on Zhukov. You need three units in that hex, to give Zhukov a better chance to survive... By the way: the usage of the offensive chit by Zhukov last turn wasn't that good at all. Sure, you killed some German units, but it did put Zhukov in grave danger himself. I don't understand why the Wehrmacht didn't attack Odessa. The delay is plain foolish on their side...
