Are Gorns part goat?

geofflambert -> RE: OT Things to ponder (8/1/2019 1:15:05 AM)

We're part whatever we just ate.

You don't eat your own poop like dogs do ….. ?

RangerJoe -> RE: OT Things to ponder (8/2/2019 9:11:42 PM)

If a neighbor's dog unloads in your yard, just cover it with bacon grease. The dog will eat it up. [:D]

geofflambert -> RE: OT Things to ponder (8/3/2019 12:44:57 AM)

mmmmmm... bacon!

Will_L -> RE: OT Things to ponder (8/3/2019 1:45:30 AM)

In the early '80s we adopted the dog of a neighbor that passed away, she was a real sweetheart. After we had her for about a week we were wondering why she hadn't pooped in the backyard yet... then our neighbor rang the doorbell to ask if we'd seen a dog in her yard taking care of business, we hadn't. Later that day I was in our dining room and the dog was out back and she jumped onto the brick wall of our porch, down onto the neighbors porch, down the stairs into her garden and took a dump then jumped back up and into our yard. I put planter on the wall and that stopped her but I did appreciate her wanting to keep our backyard nice and clean. [:D]

Good grief, there are always young. They're all over the place. Only a small percentage will reach adulthood so we have to come up with lots of gorn puke. That's just mother nature.

Do Gorns eat their young? Maybe not their own if they can identify them, but maybe the young of other Gorns? I know that Crocodilians will.

geofflambert -> RE: OT Things to ponder (8/5/2019 12:50:57 AM)

Many of us paint "Ranger Joe" on their backs so we won't make that mistake.

Cannibalism is much more efficient than war. No messy destruction, etc.

Not to mention that the meat is a perfect balance of proteins. The downside is the increased risk of injesting parasites and infections bacteria.

Or defective prions as in "mad cow" disease. Of course, with gorns you can't tell the difference.

So that's why cannibals boil their food. [:D]

Are you equating Gorns to galactic parasites?

Definition of a cannibal:
A man who likes his fellow man
.
.
. (a nice long pause)
with gravy,

That is best said when you are serving roast beef with gravy to people whom you don't really care for, especially if they have queesy stomachs.

First time I saw 'Silence of the Lambs' was on a flight to London. I hadn't had enough to drink when the open the top of the skull scene came up. I felt like I was about to lose it so got up and sat on the edge of the exit door for about 15 min. No cabin crew came to see me, arrest me, or anything else. But this was pre 9/11.

If a Gorn had been on the flight I would have been toast.

There are some scenes in the TV series "The Pacific" that also feature smashed open skulls - don't watch the Peleliu episodes if you are still squeamish!

So why do so few young gorns reach adulthood ?

Are there other species which are higher on the food chain ?
Or do they merely get accidently stepped on or buried under an adult puke pile ?

John B - either a great American hero (my vote) - or a great American hero (my vote).

fcooke -> RE: OT Things to ponder (8/6/2019 12:16:44 AM)

For those not aware 'The Pacific' is the other side of the world version of 'Band of Brothers". I would say with better acting. And more actual 'real' history.

Band of Brothers is still stunning though.

One non-Gorn opinion.

fcooke -> RE: OT Things to ponder (8/6/2019 12:22:31 AM)

That might be seen as me as throwing shade at the Gorn - it was not meant to do so.....but I did not want to wait to hit edit.
Sorry metal bits and anything else available eater.....

That just means that PIGS might spray their capsicum [sm=00000003.gif] spray on you for seasoning while individuals will be upset because you consume all or almost all of their ethanol products. [:D]
