AllenK -> RE: 4 player E-mail: AAR (3/11/2018 11:34:26 AM)

Apologies to followers of the AAR for the long delay since the last update. I was laid low by an extended period of illness and am only just getting back on my feet.

N/D 42 Axis 7.

Germany and Japan land. Italy combined.

The Italian fleet decides to take a peak at what the world outside the Med looks like. Do the Allies wish to intercept?

(Can that fleet even move further?)

Thank you for your thoughts. I had a nasty chest infection but two courses of different anti-biotics plus a course of steroids in between finally got the better of it and I'm now well on the way to full recovery.

Blast, should have noticed that and passed straight on through.

The Italian fleet settles in the 2-box. The CA Abruzzi is sent ahead to scout for the Allied shipping.

The Allies have a range of aircraft able to respond. With no Axis air in the sea zone, the significant ones are the US TBD (up to 1-box), the CW Swordfish (up to 1-box) and the Free French Farman (up to 2-box). How do the Allies wish to deploy?

Orm -> RE: 4 player E-mail: AAR (3/12/2018 8:50:37 PM)

The TBD to the 0-box, and the Swordfish to the 1-box. Thank you.

AllenK -> RE: 4 player E-mail: AAR (3/12/2018 9:05:55 PM)

Searches of Axis 7 and Allies 5 bring an at least temporary end to proceedings.

Ground strikes

Ju87 in hex 58,89 and Bf110 in hex 57,59 bombs Sevastopol. Bf110 lands back to same hex and Ju87 lands to hex 56,61 (SW of Stalino).

The Ju-87's achieve a hit.

AllenK -> RE: 4 player E-mail: AAR (3/12/2018 9:21:47 PM)

Rail moves

From Latvia 43,45 MAR to La Spezia and MOT to Kiev. In Finland INF from Tampere to Oulu.

The Japanese move a few units around in Manchuria and near Canton/Hong Kong (Manchuria shown).

Mayhemizer_slith -> RE: 4 player E-mail: AAR (3/13/2018 8:25:34 PM)

Germany captures empty Kursk and retreats right away. Germany prepares to attack Sevastopol.

Japanese MAR and INF divisions invade to Legaspi in Philippines.

Germany attacks Sevastopol and uses both engineers in that attack.

I assume US chooses to use notional units in Legaspi, or it's automatic?

Mayhemizer_slith -> RE: 4 player E-mail: AAR (3/13/2018 8:31:34 PM)

Japan uses 2,5 half points of attacking shore bombardment.

Germany uses HQ support.

Germany uses 10 points of ground support, Japan uses 1 point.

USSR can send bomber to support units in Sevastopol if they want. Germany can intercept with Bf109. Do you want to send bomber?

warspite1 -> RE: 4 player E-mail: AAR (3/14/2018 5:49:00 AM)

So are the odds 3:2 +2?

Mayhemizer_slith -> RE: 4 player E-mail: AAR (3/14/2018 3:27:33 PM)

Yes, 90% fractional for 1:1 and 50% chance for HQ support.

warspite1 -> RE: 4 player E-mail: AAR (3/14/2018 5:10:59 PM)

That'll be no aircraft for me thank-you

Mayhemizer_slith -> RE: 4 player E-mail: AAR (3/14/2018 5:53:50 PM)

On a 10 HQ support fails.

I believe Allies choose assault for both attacks?

German attack goes well too, one lower and it would have failed...

Mayhemizer_slith -> RE: 4 player E-mail: AAR (3/14/2018 6:25:56 PM)

Where do you want to rebase 1 CP?

warspite1 -> RE: 4 player E-mail: AAR (3/14/2018 7:06:19 PM)

Any in supply port on the Black Sea please

Mayhemizer_slith -> RE: 4 player E-mail: AAR (3/14/2018 7:16:13 PM)

Japan rebases to A6M2N to Hong Kong. Italy rebases Folgore to Venice and swaps the Falco II in Rome with the Veltro in Sicily.

On a 4 turn continues.

Orm -> RE: 4 player E-mail: AAR (3/20/2018 7:42:17 PM)

Land: USSR, China, CW
Combined: USA, France

No Port Strikes.

US fly one NAV3, and one LND3 on extended range, to the 3-box of South China Sea.

One US CP leave Pago Pago and sail to Coral Sea.

Three sea areas are up for naval combat.

Orm -> RE: 4 player E-mail: AAR (3/20/2018 7:51:52 PM)

USA decline to initiate combat in Cape St. Vincent and in the Coral Sea.

In the South China Sea the LND3 initiates combat. Allies decline to reinforce the sea area. Japan has one FTR2 and one NAV2 that can reinforce the sea area. Both the Japanese aircraft can reach box 2 or less.

Will Japan send any aircraft to the South China Sea?

Orm -> RE: 4 player E-mail: AAR (3/23/2018 4:13:19 PM)

Nov/Dec '42
Impulse #10 (Allied)

Allies rolled 5, and Axis 3, for the search in the South China Sea. No combat.

Orm -> RE: 4 player E-mail: AAR (3/23/2018 4:51:52 PM)

A massive Allied air raid target Essen despite the bad weather. A squadron of old B-18 act as pathfinder for the waves of Lancasters and Flying Fortresses that follows. The bombers are escorted by Beaufighters and Mustangs.

Germany has one squadron of Ju 88C and one squadron of Bf 110G on standby to intercept the raid. Will any German aircraft launch to cover Essen?

British Lancasters bomb Naples by night. The bombers are escorted by Mosquito night fighters. Italy has one interceptor ready that can intercept the raid. Will they do so?
