ashkpa -> RE: Pat vs Ronnie GW AAR (11/16/2016 1:12:47 AM)

W. Med rnd 1
Bf110E initiates searches. Rolls of 3/1 mean some of both sides find. CW has 3 SP. Axis make it a naval air.
The Bf110 flies as a fighter. How does the CW want to use it's 3 surprise points (A-A, AA, or column shift)?

rkr1958 -> RE: Pat vs Ronnie GW AAR (11/16/2016 4:11:02 AM)

Shift the air-to-air column for the CW up 1. If given the choice the allies will target the Italian NAV. The allies will stay in the air-to-air battle as long as the status of the Italian NAV is unknown. Once it's known the CW will breakoff (i.e., abort) the air-to-air combat. All of this assumes that the RAF fighter survives.

ashkpa -> RE: Pat vs Ronnie GW AAR (11/16/2016 4:29:07 AM)

SO41 i13: CSV rnd 1
Per instructions, increased the CW A-A differential value.
CW cleared the IT NAV, and there I aborted the A-A before the 2nd round for the allies.
I applied the first A against the Australia and determined that the allies would apply the 2nd A vs the Tourville (lowest AA value).

I'm assuming you will stay for round 2? I'll give it a few minutes, in case you want to override that.
I did not include the sub in the combat, so it would stay at sea if you aborted with everything else.

rkr1958 -> RE: Pat vs Ronnie GW AAR (11/16/2016 4:31:35 AM)

Yes, the allies will stay. The French that are forced to abort will go to Syria and the RN ships forced to abort to Malta.

ashkpa -> RE: Pat vs Ronnie GW AAR (11/16/2016 4:45:20 AM)

rnd 2, searches 2/4
Axis find and engage the 0-box with 5 surprise points.
Luck in the A-A goes the allies way and they shoot down the NAV.
Onto round 3.

ashkpa -> RE: Pat vs Ronnie GW AAR (11/16/2016 4:46:18 AM)

search rolls of 6/8 result in no contact for round 3.

ashkpa -> RE: Pat vs Ronnie GW AAR (11/16/2016 4:49:09 AM)

In the BoB, the Graf Spee initiates.

Nobody can see beyond the bow of the ships, both sides roll 10's.

ashkpa -> RE: Pat vs Ronnie GW AAR (11/16/2016 5:05:44 AM)

And the turn continues to SO41 i15.

Turn 13. Sep/Oct 1941. Allied #15. End of Turn Check.

This turn (finally) comes to an end.

Nazi-Soviet Pact Chit Selections.

quote:

ORIGINAL: ashkpa

Both new ones to offense. Move the 6 in the defense pool to the offense pool.

1. Both chits drawn by Germany were 3's and went into the offensive pool. Also, a 6 chit was transferred from the defensive to the offensive pool.

2. The Soviets drew a 4 chit which they put into their defensive pool. No chit in either pool (i.e., offensive or defensive) was transferred.

Turn 13. Sep/Oct 1941. End of Turn. Partisans.

An Italian partisan popped up in Burma which I took the liberty of placing on the Burmese oil resource adjacent to Mandalay.

Pat - If this isn't where you'd like him let me know and I'll move him when I get the turn back.

Turn 13. Sep/Oct 1941. End of Turn. USA Entry Pool.

1. The newly drawn chit went into the Germany/Italy entry pool. The "pool" numbers shown on the right side of the screen cap is the number of chits in each pool AFTER USA entry options were selected.

2. The first option choose by the USA was, "31. Oil embargo (on Japan)." This resulted in the transfer of a chit from the Japanese entry to the tension pool.

3. The USA then decided to choose option 29, "North Atlantic Escorts", which resulted in no chit transfer from the tension to entry pool.

4. This allowed the USA to choose a second Germany/Italy option, which was option 20, "US land-based air escorts." This selection also resulted in a no chit transfer.

Turn 13. Sep/Oct 1941. End of Turn. Axis Return to Base. RN Intercept Attempt.

If the loss of Gibraltar to the axis wasn't bad enough the Germans decided to add insult to injury by a bold sortie to move five of their Capital ships based in France to their newly captured based at Gibraltar. Vice Admiral Sir Algrenon Willis, Commander-in-Chief of the South Atlantic fleet, received a most high priority action message straight from the Lord of the Admiralty, Sir Albert Victor Alexander, to find, engage and destroy this KM fleet before they can reach Gibraltar. Though Sir Willis attempted to intercept he unfortunately, or maybe fortunately, failed to find the German fleet.

This is a sad day for the Royal Navy.

ashkpa -> RE: Pat vs Ronnie GW AAR (11/18/2016 11:07:19 PM)

Glad the German ship captains knew how to use the fog banks '[:D]'.

German's used 3.4 oil to reorganize all oil units.
The Italians used 1.3 oil and reorganized all oil units except for the Balbo HQ.
The Japanese used 0.4 oil and left the 2 subs disorganized.

Turn 13. Sep/Oct 1941. End of Turn. Use Oil. Active Allies.

I had to go "manual" to reorganize the three French units on the West African coast using one of the saved Syrian oil points. See http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=4182900 for the details of the bug I'm working around.

Turn 13. Sep/Oct 1941. End of Turn. Factory Destruction.

Pat, I took two actions using my best judgement for you during the factory destruction phase.

1. The Burmese partisan destroyed the Burma oil resource point adjacent to Mandalay. (Lesson learned for me as the allies was that I should have had the Burma MIL unit guarding that oil point and Rangoon.)

2. The Germans did NOT destroy a blue factory in Rouen, France. My rationale for that was that all German factories were producing which includes this one in Rouen so I though it best not to destroy it.
