Please deploy the land two land units to Lisbon and the CA and CP to Luanda, Angola.

ashkpa -> RE: Pat vs Ronnie GW AAR (11/24/2016 3:37:15 PM)

ND41 i4:
All Axis powers take combined actions.
JA moves an Amph out and picks up a 6-3 from China and a CA out to pick up a division in the S. China Sea.
Germany and Italy fly air units out to the 2-box of the BoB.
Italy moves the Italian battle fleet out to the W. Med.
Will the Allies attempt interception?

rkr1958 -> RE: Pat vs Ronnie GW AAR (11/24/2016 4:43:41 PM)

Yes, the combined RN and French fleets will attempt to intercept. Use the RN sub in the 1 box for the attempt.

ashkpa -> RE: Pat vs Ronnie GW AAR (11/24/2016 6:13:37 PM)

ND41 i4: naval
The interception failed. Fleets moves to the 3-box of CSV. The German fleet joins them there. I did not have you intercept in CSV since I knew I was stopping and having disorganize a single unit was not likely to make a difference.

I will be initiating in all zones except the Faeroes gap. You do have some air craft that could fly to CSV and BoB. I don't think you'll fly to the BoB, but CSV is possible. I will start with the W Med shortly. Let me know if you'd like to fly anything out.

ashkpa -> RE: Pat vs Ronnie GW AAR (11/24/2016 6:20:34 PM)

W. Med search rolls of 6/8 result in no contact.

Well, I was wrong about BoB. You do have a couple of fighters that could fly out. Will any of the planes below react out to the BoB?

rkr1958 -> RE: Pat vs Ronnie GW AAR (11/24/2016 8:05:01 PM)

Bay of Biscay: Hurricane & Spitfire to 0-box.

CSV: All three aircraft based in Cisneros flyout. Beafout & Hampden (using extended range) to 3-box. Skuka to 0-box.

Sorry for the delay, Thanksgiving Dinner with family. I'm stuffed. [:D]

Well actually ham. We're not a big turkey family, but we do enjoy ham. We had ham, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, creme corn, stuffing, cole slaw, cranberry sauce and rolls. For desert pumpkin and key lime pies.

There's plenty of leftovers and pro football is on (Redskins vs Cowboys). Who could ask for more. Life is good. [:)]

Happy Thanksgiving to my USA friends and to whomever else celebrates it!

ashkpa -> RE: Pat vs Ronnie GW AAR (11/24/2016 10:15:03 PM)

BoB search rolls of 10/6 means no contact.

CSV. Flew Skuka to 0-box. The Hampden at extended range can reach the 3-box, but the Beaufort cannot (range of 11 halved to 6 for reaction, only allows it to reach the 2-box). What do you wish to do with it, 2-box by itself, 0-box or stay at home?

2-box then.

ashkpa -> RE: Pat vs Ronnie GW AAR (11/24/2016 11:22:45 PM)

CSV rnd 1:
Search rolls of 1/9 mean the axis find. They engage the 0-box only with 10 SP. Choose naval air.
GE fly F-B as a fighter.
How will the CW fly the two CVP's as bombers or fighters.

[image]local://upfiles/47448/7311B0C58DD24DA6BB238624FC602DCF.jpg[/image]

rkr1958 -> RE: Pat vs Ronnie GW AAR (11/24/2016 11:24:17 PM)

CVPs fly as fighters. They will stay until shot down or the status of all axis bombers is determined. As usual, when given the chance target axis bombers for abort or shoot down.

Also, the allies will stay for a possible round 2.

ashkpa -> RE: Pat vs Ronnie GW AAR (11/25/2016 12:01:35 AM)

A-A went well for the allies. They shot down a Stuka (my choice versus the IT fighter) and did not lose a fighter.
I spent 2 SP decrease allied AA to no effect. Axis AA reduced the CW NAV to 0.
I used 8 SP to increase allied damage to X D 2A.
I placed the first X versus CP.
Where do you want the D and the 2nd A?

rkr1958 -> RE: Pat vs Ronnie GW AAR (11/25/2016 12:22:25 AM)

D on the Ramilies, second A on Ramilies if damaged, otherwise on Warspite.

RN aborts go to Cisnerous, Spanish Sahara. Any French aborts go to Dakar.

ashkpa -> RE: Pat vs Ronnie GW AAR (11/25/2016 12:36:01 AM)

All CW units made their saving throws. 2nd round searches were 6/7 and combat ended.

rkr1958 -> RE: Pat vs Ronnie GW AAR (11/25/2016 1:52:33 AM)

Turn 14. Nov/Dec 1941. Allied #5. Post Naval Moves. Contested Sea Areas.

The allies elect for no combat in all four contested sea areas. The axis don't have the opportunity to try.

This sums up this allied impulse. Now it's back to Pat and the axis.

ashkpa -> RE: Pat vs Ronnie GW AAR (11/25/2016 2:40:10 AM)

ND41 i7:
Italy and Japan take combined actions and Germany takes a land action.
JP moves two CVs from Truk to the S. China Sea
Italy moves a CP to the W. Med
Italy flies a fighter to the 2-box of the BoB

Italy can initiate searches in 3 areas.
In the first, CSV, the search rolls of 5/5 resulted in no contact.
In the second, BoB, the axis find on rolls of 1/4. The axis engage only the 0-box with 6 SP in a naval air battle.
Both axis fighter-bombers fly fight as fighters.
Use 2 SP to decrease the allied A-A value.
In the A-A, the Italian NAV is aborted and both CW fighters are shot down.
Used 2 SP to decrease the AA to no effect. And the final 2 SP were used to move the damage from 2D to an X, which was applied to the CP. (see this and the next post).

ashkpa -> RE: Pat vs Ronnie GW AAR (11/25/2016 2:57:16 AM)

BoB: Rnd 2 search rolls of 1/2 resulted in both sides finding. CW with 1 SP.
Germany makes it a naval air. One axis F-B flies as a bomber, one as a fighter. All Allied CVP fly as fighters.
A-A went three rounds. The Axis F-B flying as a bomber was aborted. The allied beaufighter and a CVP were destroyed.
AA went well for the axis.
Result was a D on the Furious which did damage the ship.

ND41 i7:
3rd round of searches resulted in no contact (10/5)

W. Med searches resulted in no contact on 3/7 search rolls.

ashkpa -> RE: Pat vs Ronnie GW AAR (11/25/2016 3:42:08 AM)

ND 41 i7:
turn did not end. Weather roll for i9 was a 6, which with the modifier kept the weather at a 7.

If the turn ends, how do you wish to handle the chits for the Nazi-Soviet pact?

Turn 14. Nov/Dec 1941. Allied #9. Kenya.

The CW is able to retake the Nairobi, the capital of Kenya, back from the Italians.

I'm not sure if this saves Kenya or if it's conquered and then liberate by the CW?
