Germany claiming the need for Lebensraum invades the peace loving people of Poland. Roosevelt is angered at this infamy.

keith63 -> RE: New AAR Keith Vs Ian (1/25/2017 3:38:29 PM)

Quick question. Does anyone know why my screen shots are coming out so large when I post them here? Thanks.

Mayhemizer_slith -> RE: New AAR Keith Vs Ian (1/25/2017 4:10:35 PM)

I bet you have quite a big monitor.

Try to edit them smaller, take only partial screenshot (using paint or other program) or use "alt gr + print screen" for active window only.

Mayhemizer_slith -> RE: New AAR Keith Vs Ian (1/25/2017 5:37:47 PM)

Your pictures are 1920 x 1080 pixels.

For example in our AAR pictures are smaller (usually up to 1300-1600 x 900 pixels). Big pictures are good when you are posting situation in China entire Europe or German/USSR front. When you post US entry pool or land combat, you can post only that window and pictures are smaller. When I post pictures of map, I often paste the image to Paint and cut useless parts away to make it smaller.

Really good to see comment and advice from experienced players on this thread and I hope the kibbitzing continues.

Germans on the Eastern Front, along with the Polish setup. What do you all think?

It looks a pretty good Polish set-up based upon the German deployment. The Germans will need to disorganise or destroy the CAV or it could put their northern forces OOS. That will take air and/or land forces away from the primary goals of Warsaw/Lodz. They will also need to deal with both the Div in the south, or lose an oil, and the 4-3 INF in the forest to open the way to the key cities. There's probably enough for the Germans to accomplish what they want but a couple of poor die rolls could see things bogged down and then who knows. If the weather deteriorates, the Germans increase their likelihood of losses if they persist in attacking and the chance of the turn ending improves.

If the Germans take losses and/or the Polish campaign drags on, it's a strategic victory for the Allies and this looks like it's giving a reasonable chance for that to occur.

This aggressive deployment is an unacceptable provocation. Germany is now at war with Poland.

Japan aligns Siam.

Japan, Germany land; Italy combined.

In the Mediterranean sunshine Il Duce is pictured in a Gucci swimsuit as he observes amphibious exercises off Sicily in fashionable American magazines. He is also advertising top of the range German binoculars.

professorhex -> RE: New AAR Keith Vs Ian (1/26/2017 11:11:22 PM)

Again I am frustrated by this noob post limit rule as I sit here attempting to describe what is happening.

professorhex -> RE: New AAR Keith Vs Ian (1/26/2017 11:26:00 PM)

A synopsis will have to do, for now. It is frustrating that I cannot post screen shots.

Japanese G3M2 bombers flying out of Canton have raided Chungking and missed oil dumps and factories (roll 5 no effect.)

The Polish Tarnow Cavalry positioned on the East Prussian border are rudely awoken by Luftwaffe Stukas. They are disorganised. I wish I could show you.

Heinkels and Dorniers ground strike Warsaw. Rydz HQ is disorganised, but the other unit is unscathed. Too bad for the historic city centre.

[Keith and I have not discussed getting some independent internet die rolls as some players do. But I would be happy to do that.]

Getting late in this part of the world but expect more action tomorrow evening UK time. Hopefully I'll be able to post more screenshots.

professorhex -> RE: New AAR Keith Vs Ian (1/27/2017 3:31:29 PM)

Successful German ground strike against that troublesome Cavalry Corps. Keith will be pleased that I deployed the best bomber.

professorhex -> RE: New AAR Keith Vs Ian (1/27/2017 3:35:05 PM)

The other ground strike on Warsaw hit only Rydz-Smigly's HQ.

professorhex -> RE: New AAR Keith Vs Ian (1/27/2017 3:52:21 PM)

The Germans rail garrison forces from Saarbrucken to Kolberg.

The Japanese rail garrison forces into China from Mukden to Tsinan.

professorhex -> RE: New AAR Keith Vs Ian (1/27/2017 4:26:51 PM)

In China, Terauchi moves south to Peking, motorised infantry and cavalry screening his advance. Further south, Umezu establishes a front straddling the Mufu mountains against Chinese Nationalist forces in the Changsha area.

A German infantry corps enters Danzig behind a band, over a carpet of flowers strewn by celebrating citizens.

A Polish cp is captured, but the destroyers escape to Scapa Flow.

[image]local://upfiles/55941/23275FC6AECE44A3A3CB63142E0154CD.jpg[/image]

professorhex -> RE: New AAR Keith Vs Ian (1/27/2017 6:52:19 PM)

Umezu's army group asault the Kunming militia in the mountains east of Changsha.

The yankee-imperialist Chinese airforce declined to intercept the single wing of Japanese ground support, which rebased to Wuhan.

The Chinese Nationalists bravely stand their ground. There is a bloodbath but eventually they are overwhelmed.

The General's silk slippers have moved a few miles closer to Changsha, and occupy the advantageous heights.

But surely this will slow the Japanese in China.

professorhex -> RE: New AAR Keith Vs Ian (1/27/2017 7:14:54 PM)

Now once again I am thwarted because of this limited posting of pictures for new members thing. If any mods with the power to free me from this handicap are reading this, I'd be very grateful.

I will email the screenshots to Keith in case he wants to post them.

But the short story is: all three German attacks succeed without losses or disorganisation.

The Karpaty Corps is blitzed out of existence in an automatic win north of Warsaw and the Vistula by Army Group von Bock.

Katowice falls and the infantry division defending it is destroyed by mechanised elements of Army Group von Rundstedt.

The Field Marshal himself, supported by army and SS infantry, blitzes through the forests of southern Poland destroying the Modlin infantry corps.

No further HQ or air support was deployed by Germany. A marine Heinkel is redeployed to Danzig from Wilhemshavn.

The Fuehrer is "surprised and disappointed" at declarations of war by the British Empire and the French Republic.

So is the USA.

Do you know how soon Mr Orm? Is there anything I can do to speed this process up?

I thought it was both ten posts and then a week.

Edit: So the restrictions should be lifted by now.

Edit 2: It might be they changed the rules for this yet again when the last spamming attacks occurred a few months ago.

I use GIMP2. It's powerful, free and includes significant functionality controlling image size. It's does have a bit of a learning curve but once you spend the time to learn it it's become easy to crop, resize and build images from several screen caps all of which I've found very useful for posting AAR images.

Find paint sufficient at the moment for this war but if this is good, and free, I'll have it.

China and the China Sea S/O 39 start of first allied impulse #2

High in the mountains above Tokyo, in the rarefied air, the Emperor rocks gently back and forth in his cot.

Germany S/O 39 start of first allied impulse #2

Berchtesgaden

The Fuehrer has been in bouyant mood and talking ten to the dozen. He has dreamt of this moment since 1918.

The Hungarian woman has been dancing on the balcony.
