In Paris, the rumbling of guns can be heard. The French scramble more units out of other parts of France but they can't stop the onslaught:

After the next Axis impulse, Gamelin declares that Paris is now under military rule. The French government leaves the city. I could have mounted an attack on Paris this impulse, but I don't like odds of +7 with very good units included in the attack...

The Führer leaves Germany and prepares for his glorious victory march into Paris. However, end of June storms appear out of nowhere, halting the German advance a couple of kilometers outside of the city. Turn ends after the 9th impulse. Due to this turn ending, the command of Gort is trapped in France...

In Northern Africa, a CW motorized division enters Lybia:

In Egypt, it's still a stalemate. Stalin did take out Persia this turn.

In Somaliland, Australian troops have arrived, but Djibouti is taken by the Italian colonial forces:

In northern China, the Japanese advance and the first communist troops are engaged in combat. Elements of the communist army capture a resource in northern China.

The Nationalists have taken a severe beating by Yamamoto this turn:

The CW transport fleet was unlucky. The Italians also have a damaged transport. Here's the repair pool:

Centuur, thanks for the netplay AAR. I'm finding it a fast paced and entertaining read. Please keep it up. By the way, how many sessions and total hours do you estimate that it's taken you to get this far?

I think about 10 sessions for about 3 hours each (but that also includes retrying due to bug hunting).

Courtenay -> RE: Netplay Global War AAR (3/3/2018 8:28:39 PM)

This game surprises me. It looks like I was rolling the weather for the Axis, but I know I wasn't playing ths game! [:)]

jjdenver -> RE: Netplay Global War AAR (3/4/2018 4:10:52 PM)

Thank you for the AAR. Happy to have this to read. You didn't mention it much but it looks like a steady drumbeat of Natchi losses. Things look really good for JP in China.

I'm also interested to see the Italians advance directly on Alexandria this early in the war. I am keen to see how this progresses....and the situation in French N. Africa is also a bit of a fun puzzle. If some Germans could be sent into Oran it appears that Morocco is vulnerable with CW commitment to E. Africa and Tunisia.

German and Italian losses seem rather high.

I can't wait to see whether Vichy is called or a complete conquest of France is attempted. Great stuff. :)

Just outside of the picture, there's a 7-3 elite CW INF in Casablanca too. French North Africa is indeed a very nice puzzle, full of surprises...

Yesterday evening, after the end of turn phases, the assault for Paris was about to continue... But the weather still isn't good, and that for the July-August turn. After modifiers, a "12" was rolled...

Centuur -> RE: Netplay Global War AAR (3/7/2018 3:11:54 PM)

Of course, that didn't last. Paris has fallen an impulse later:

In Northern China, after succesfull artillery and ground stikes on the Chinese Communists, Sian falls:

And in Southern China, a +10 attack on a disorganized Nationalist GAR resulted in a totally disorganized southern army.

Ah, nice one!
I am also especially interested to see how North Africa plays out. For now, looks like going well for Italy. Last time I saw Italy being agressive in North Africa this early in the game they were left with no ships (at all) halfway '41.

Until now, the key has been the Italian FTR's. But still, I've already lost 5 convoy points and 2 cruisers. And there was the damaged transport in the repair pool too...

Grotius -> RE: Netplay Global War AAR (3/10/2018 4:39:20 AM)

Great stuff! I'm amazed the Japanese can take so much territory even in bad weather. Whenever I try an offensive in rain in China, I get supply trouble. But I'm a newb.

I'm also loving the chess-match in North Africa. Another newb question, though: what are the two sides' objectives in sub-Saharan Africa?

This answer was censored by the Italian government.... [:-][:D]

After the next Allied impulse, the Chicomm army comes to the aid of the disorganised leader:

While in southern China, the Nationalist army, aware of the problems with the total disruption of command of the Japanese, decide to advance a little. After all, they are save for the rest of the turn:

After a couple more impulses the turn ends. This is the situation in France at the end of the turn. Vichy will be declared next week...

Centuur -> RE: Netplay Global War AAR (3/28/2018 3:02:02 PM)

In Lybia, despite a valiant effort by the Italian Navy, causing the loss of convoys and ships at the Allied side - and adding the queues at the Italian repair shipyards, Tripolis falls (I was one die roll short of putting the CW out of supply on the Lybian coast. And guess: the cruiser wasn't destroyed, but damaged instead. [:@] That roll saved the CW transport providing supply). And to know that this mess started when I wasn't able to enter the most eastern port in Algeria due to a premature turn ending half a year ago. Well, that's war, isn't it...

Balbo has got a lot of problems now:

Centuur -> RE: Netplay Global War AAR (3/28/2018 3:06:42 PM)

In Northern China, an attack on Mao by the Japanese failed. He survived a +9 attack by choosing the Blitzkrieg and the following die roll only resulted in a retreat and the total disorganization of the Northern Japanese army. Well, China is fun for as long as you roll high enough to kill more Chinese units.

Southern China was stalemate already, so not a lot changed there:
