In the center the Soviet position grows stronger again. They sensibly retreat to the riverline.

The supply situation hasn't gotten better. The railroad battlions did not repair the damaged railline, but it is done this week by the FDB.

Due to lack of fuel nothing is accomplished this week. Only one Panzer corps has good MP and it is decided to keep it in reserve. The infantry manages to capture another Moscow suburb and a bridgehead over the river is established.

Further south 4th Army destroys the pocketed divisions and slowly advances.

Blubel2 -> RE: Blubel vs TheDoctorKing - To the Ural Mountains or Berlin? (1/27/2019 1:52:46 PM)

In the south the Soviets managed to cut of the spearhead.

Blubel2 -> RE: Blubel vs TheDoctorKing - To the Ural Mountains or Berlin? (1/27/2019 1:53:52 PM)

The situation is easily resolved and the advance continues with a small pocket formed.

thedoctorking -> RE: Blubel vs TheDoctorKing - To the Ural Mountains or Berlin? (1/27/2019 4:05:58 PM)

The supply difficulties the Germans are experiencing in the center are the only things keeping me going in this game. I thought I was done for on turn 9 or so.

Blubel2 -> RE: Blubel vs TheDoctorKing - To the Ural Mountains or Berlin? (6/2/2019 3:30:35 PM)

I think the supply dificulties made the game more realistic, although it would be better to achieve that without questionable partisan attacks.

Blubel2 -> RE: Blubel vs TheDoctorKing - To the Ural Mountains or Berlin? (6/2/2019 3:32:17 PM)

Turn 14 North

In the North the Soviets launched an ambitious cavalry counterattack, which threatened to cut off most of Army Group North. Luckily, that worked only almost.

Blubel2 -> RE: Blubel vs TheDoctorKing - To the Ural Mountains or Berlin? (6/2/2019 3:35:28 PM)

The situation can be resolved using the last reserves. The SS is called back south of the Neva in order to acquire a mobile reserve. Last weeks pocket is fully closed.

Turn 14 Center

The Soviets are able to push 1st Panzer Division back across the river, although they take heavy casualties doing so.

Blubel2 -> RE: Blubel vs TheDoctorKing - To the Ural Mountains or Berlin? (6/2/2019 3:39:18 PM)

The rivercrossing is taken back and two Infantrie divisions cross it for good. Otherwise because of only a handful of divisions having enough fuel nothing much is accomplished.

Turn 14 South

In the South the small pocket from last week holds. It is decided to pocket the Soviet forces between the two mobile forces.

Blubel2 -> RE: Blubel vs TheDoctorKing - To the Ural Mountains or Berlin? (6/2/2019 3:42:26 PM)

It proves possible to pull off.

Wow. Very bold attack at Leningrad. One thing i learned the hard way is to avoid gaps in the front line. soviet have a lot of these cheap 4k men cavalry units with 22 MP to throw in and run amok in the hinterland.

That is true and doctorking used them always to good effect, even though he spent most of them before the winter. The regiment guarding against this was sitting in the swamp hex, so I thought he would not have the power to move it.

Turn 15 North

The pocket holds and the Soviets thankfully retreat from the Valdais.

Blubel2 -> RE: Blubel vs TheDoctorKing - To the Ural Mountains or Berlin? (6/2/2019 4:26:19 PM)

The pocket is cleared and Army Group North advances without doing anything particularly noteworthy.

Turn 15 Center

For Army Group Center supply is good for the first time in 3 weeks. Alas, Moscow is now defended strongly. With the end of the Summer Campaign approaching fast and next week supposedly being mud, von Bock decides against a direct assault of Moscow. Instead Kaluga is to be secured to get to a better assault position in the winter.

Blubel2 -> RE: Blubel vs TheDoctorKing - To the Ural Mountains or Berlin? (6/2/2019 4:35:54 PM)

It does not work quite as well as hoped, as the pocket can not be fully closed.

Turn 15 South

in the South it is decided to cut Kharkov, which still has much industry present (15 Arm and Su-2), off from the railway. Although the units protecting the southern approaches to Kursk are to be pocketed.

Blubel2 -> RE: Blubel vs TheDoctorKing - To the Ural Mountains or Berlin? (6/2/2019 4:42:01 PM)

This also does not work quite as well as planned, but will set the stage for the combat of the next few weeks.

Blubel2 -> RE: Blubel vs TheDoctorKing - To the Ural Mountains or Berlin? (6/2/2019 4:44:29 PM)

West of Stalino the pocket holds and the next Soviet defense line seems to be around the three cities.

Blubel2 -> RE: Blubel vs TheDoctorKing - To the Ural Mountains or Berlin? (6/2/2019 4:45:33 PM)

The pocket is mostly cleared and the mobile divisions advance as much as possible.
