All with two interception range unless stated.

What do the French want to do?

AllenK -> RE: Folly a deux: AllenK vs Warspite1 AAR (3/17/2019 8:47:53 PM)

Send the MB 152 to Lille and a D520S to each of the other Stukas, thanks.

warspite1 -> RE: Folly a deux: AllenK vs Warspite1 AAR (3/17/2019 9:11:35 PM)

Okay so we have three air battles to run through. Depending on what happens this could be quick or it could take a long time. That being the case I think we should set some time aside for when we can both be around.

How is Tuesday evening? Say from 7pm?

AllenK -> RE: Folly a deux: AllenK vs Warspite1 AAR (3/17/2019 9:18:29 PM)

Sounds good to me.

warspite1 -> RE: Folly a deux: AllenK vs Warspite1 AAR (3/18/2019 7:26:36 PM)

Unfortunately I have to work late tomorrow - is 8pm tomorrow any good?

warspite1 -> RE: Folly a deux: AllenK vs Warspite1 AAR (3/19/2019 7:03:19 AM)

Given I can't make it till later tonight, I'll see how far I can get now - and if any decisions are required that I can't make then we'll have to pick up later.

Impulse: 2 (Axis)

Ground Strike (Air to Air Combat subphase):

The Germans being in fighters to each of the three hexes contested and an Italian fighter to the hex southeast of Lille.

Lille - Round 1

Allied: 10 (DC) - The Stuka is cleared through
Axis: 17 (DX) - The MB152 is shot down (the pilot is saved)

Ground Strike (Air to Air Combat subphase):

West of the Ardennes - Round 1

Allied: 6 (AA) - The French decide which enemy aircraft to abort. I assume it will be the bomber (as Allenk would know I'm not going to risk a Stuka on a -4 if my fighter gets aborted and if he chooses the fighter he runs the risk the bomber gets through when the Axis throw next).
Axis: 11 (DC) - No Allied bomber to clear through.

The law of sod. That was over so quickly I could have done it on Sunday night and didn't need AllenK after all [8|] That is the unpredictability of MWIF! [:)]

Combat summary of the first two battles. The third disappeared before I had the chance to take a picture but was one German bomber aborted.

With one bomber aborted that leaves four strikes remaining. It looks like there are three enemy on each hex so will ask for 12 dice rolls and these will be applied in the order of the program.

Ground Strike:
Germany and Italy

The throws were:
7
2
10
5
1
10
9
5
4
8

2

Ground Strike:
Italy and Japan

I forgot all about these two! There is a GS for the Italians in the Alps. I can't scroll down the map as the Ground Strike box has come up. However I believe there were two French units in the hex so shall ask for two throws. I will also ask for two throws for Nanning. Again, these will be presented in the order of the program so the Alps attack is first.

The throws were:
2
1
7
4

Rail Movement: None
Land Movement:
Japan

The Japanese move ART up to Nanning, the newly arrived II Armoured Corps is sent to deal with the partisans west of Tsinan and the Peking Warlord is sent to try and protect the resource hex in the north.

Italy

The Italians make some minor adjustments in the northeast.

Germany

The French have a wall of armour, mech, artillery and anti-tank units in the clear terrain. I have two choices; a hopeful attack at low odds in the west or try and switch flanks and see if I can make some progress to the south. The latter is problematic in itself as there is a river to try and get across and still low odds but at least the French have no armour there at the moment.....

Paradrop:
Germany

The Germans send the II Para Corps to the hex west of Strasbourg escorted by a Bf109.

The French have the three fighters shown to intercept with. The Axis have a 5, 4 and 3 in range.

What do the French want to do?

Land Combat:
Germany

The Germans declare three attacks:
West of Strasbourg
The Alps
Yugoslavia

Japan

The Japanese announce an attack against a partisan

The French are asked if they want to include the notional. I can't see AllenK on the forum but can't save the game at this stage. The odds are 3:1 either way, but are closer to 4:1 without. However, on the basis that AllenK doesn't want another +1 for me and it may end up with the same odds anyway, I say no.

In the north the odds are 33:9 (3:1) The Germans bring in 2 bombers (6 points). They have two 5-strength fighters that could intercept with.

In the south the odds are 21.5:10 (2:1) The Germans bring in the He-115C (1 point) aircraft. There is one 3-strength fighter that can intercept.

What do the French want to do?

Fly the Potez as a bomber, escorted by the P-36A, to the northern attack and send the LeO 451 to the southern attack, thanks.

Land Combat (Air to Air Combat subphase):

West of Strasbourg - Round 1

Allied: 11 (DC) - The Germans clear through the Ju-88A1
Axis: 7 (AA) - The Germans get to choose which aircraft to abort. They take a gamble and choose the fighter. I abort from whence it came as behind the front line.

Do the French stick around?

Round 2

Allied: 19 (DXPX) - The Germans lost the fighter and the pilot
Axis: 16 (DX) - The bomber is shot down and the pilot is saved
